Volvo states that it achieved substantial sales growth with EV models accounting for 40% of its total sales.
Wearnes Automotive, the exclusive dealer for Volvo Cars Singapore, has recently announced that Volvo has seen a positive 20% year-over-year sales growth in 2023.
The Swedish marque saw its XC40 Recharge EV crossover become its top-selling model for 2024; EV models comprised 40% of its total sales. 2024 is also the year a new all-electric model is introduced into their lineup – the EX30. This is the brand’s smallest-ever SUV, and it is set to arrive in Q2 of 2024.
Wearnes has also stated this achievement is in line with the brand’s global electrification journey. These are achieving 50% global sales of Volvo EV models by 2025, and only offering fully electric vehicles by 2030.

The local Volvo showroom also just completed the installation of solar panels in January of 2024. This is estimated to meet 60% of the building’s power requirements with clean energy.
Wearnes estimates that these solar panels will also allow it to save up to 6,135 tonnes of CO2 over the next 25 years.
