Bentley Announces 3rd Edition Of Its Extraordinary Women Initiative

Bentley Motors has unveiled the latest iteration of its Extraordinary Women mentorship programme, aimed at nurturing the next generation of female leaders.

This year, the initiative will engage students, universities, and inspirational female figures from the United Kingdom and Qatar.

In collaboration with esteemed institutions such as the University of Bath, Loughborough, Warwick, Manchester Metropolitan in the UK, and the University of Doha for Science and Technology in Qatar, the programme is tailored for female students in engineering, design, technology, and business.

This initiative aligns with Bentley’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, a core pillar of its Beyond100 strategy, encouraging women to explore diverse career paths in STEM and the automotive sectors.

The programme will select eight students from the UK and Qatar for one-on-one mentorship by accomplished women known as Pioneers. This mentorship will culminate in a visit to Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe, England, providing a unique and immersive experience.

Past editions of the programme have featured notable Pioneers such as architect Amanda Levete, aerospace engineer Mishaal Ashemimry, and entrepreneur Amna Al Hashemi, offering invaluable insights and inspiration to participants.

Joining this esteemed group of Pioneers this year is Sara Davies MBE, founder of Crafter’s Companion, a global craft supply company. Sara, known for her role on BBC’s Dragons’ Den, is a beacon of inspiration and will mentor a student from the UK.

She expressed her excitement about the initiative, highlighting Bentley’s commitment to celebrating female talent and supporting young women’s growth.

Karen Lange, Bentley’s Board Member for Human Resources, lauded the programme’s growth and impact, noting its positive influence on past participants, some of whom have gone on to undertake placements with Bentley.

The Extraordinary Women programme underscores Bentley’s broader efforts to champion gender equality and inclusion. As part of its Beyond100 strategy, Bentley is committed to becoming the most diverse luxury car company, with a workforce as unique as its vehicles.
