Skyworth Opens Flagship EV Showroom in Singapore

Skyworth Showroom

Over the weekend, Skyworth proudly opened its flagship showroom, signalling the start of a new brand expansion into Southeast Asia.

For those unfamiliar with the name, Skyworth is best known for its consumer electronics. Now, the company has now set its sights on mobility, bringing its expertise in smart technology and user-centric design to the world of electric vehicles.

The launch event was attended by Skyworth Chairman Huang Hongsheng, industry leaders, and members of the automotive and technology media.

Speaking at the event, Chairman Huang made it clear that Singapore is just the beginning:  “The launch in Singapore is not only a key step in Skyworth’s overseas expansion process, but also our first stop to open the door to the Southeast Asian market.”

“Singapore’s role as an influential hub in the region is crucial, and its active acceptance of green technology helped us choose it as a bridgehead to enter Southeast Asia without hesitation,” he added.

Alongside the new showroom launch, the Skyworth K also made its debut. This SUV delivers up to 489km of range, with a spacious and well-appointed cabin.

The Skyworth K is priced at S$179,888 (inclusive of COE), making it a competitively positioned option in Singapore’s growing EV segment.

Adding further value, the brand is offering a 10-year battery warranty and 10 years of free servicing.

Skyworth’s entry into Singapore is a calculated move. The nation’s rapid EV adoption, well-established charging infrastructure, and pro-EV policies make it an ideal testing ground for new players.

But more than that, Singapore serves as a strategic launchpad for the rest of Southeast Asia. With regional markets like Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia ramping up their own EV adoption strategies, Skyworth is ready to expand beyond Singapore’s shores in the near future.

For now, the doors to the new showroom are open, and Singapore’s drivers have one more reason to consider going electric.
