Wearnes Automotive has signed on as the exclusive distributor for NIO in Singapore, bringing the Chinese marque’s smart, design-led electric vehicles to our shores.
NIO’s right-hand-drive models are now ready, and Singapore becomes the first market in Southeast Asia to welcome Firefly, NIO’s lifestyle hatch and its maiden RHD product.
“After a decade of development, NIO is ready to serve a broader global user base. Partnering with industry veterans like Wearnes Automotive will enable us to introduce smart electric vehicles to new markets more efficiently, making NIO the preferred choice for more consumers. This will ultimately advance our Blue Sky Coming mission and help create a sustainable, better future together.”
William Li, Founder, Chairman and CEO of NIO

“While many EV brands have entered markets hoping that things will simply fall into place, NIO’s approach is fundamentally different. They are methodical, long-term oriented and focused on doing things the right way, from the product to the infrastructure, to the entire ownership journey. With the right-hand drive models now made available, we are pleased to embark on this new chapter as NIO debuts in Singapore.”
Andre Roy, CEO of Wearnes Automotive
Retail operations and aftersales support kick off in Q1 2026 under Wearnes’ stewardship. Both parties are already evaluating NIO’s battery-swap technology and exploring the brand’s community-centric NIO House concept for Singapore.
Brand-wise, it’ll starts with Firefly and broaden from there, a portfolio rollout mapped for the coming years rather than a one-summer splash.

A decade in, NIO is no upstart. It’s the first car company listed on NYSE, HKEX and SGX, runs R&D centres and manufacturing across more than 10 locations, and serves users in 350+ cities across 10 countries and regions.
On the showroom floor, you’ll find nine premium EVs under the NIO brand, plus models from ONVO and Firefly; by 30 June 2025, cumulative deliveries stood at 785,714—a real number with real roads under it.

So, what should Singaporean drivers expect?
For now, the headline is simple: NIO is coming, and Singapore gets first dibs in the region. The rest, including battery swap bays humming, a House filled with curious owners, fireflys dotting the car parks will follow, methodically.
