This Mercedes-Maybach S 680 EDITION BEYOND 60, commissioned to salute 60 years of Singapore’s progress, adds a distinctly local timbre.
This is Maybach at full crescendo (MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure from grille to garnish), combining meticulous craft with tech that wouldn’t be out of place in a symphony hall.
All of the hallmarks are there: creamy 6.0-litre V12 biturbo with 612 hp, 4MATIC all-wheel drive, AIRMATIC and E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL to iron out the world beneath you, and cabin trickery like OLED-equipped MBUX, active ambient lighting, and a Burmester High-End 4D system that turns Chopin into a full-body experience.
A Singapore Story, Etched in Light
What sets this car apart is the storytelling. Centre-stage on the dash is a laser-engraved portrait of Singapore’s skyline set into MANUFAKTUR black piano lacquer.
The artwork, created with Singaporean multidisciplinary artist Andre Wee, captures our city’s precision and pulse in a mesh of fine lines.
The C-pillar wears subtle “BEYOND 60” lettering; the illuminated door sills nod as you step in; 21-inch Maybach multi-spoke forged wheels do the heavy visual lifting without breaking a sweat.
Where Colour Meets Craft
The two-tone paintwork is a masterclass in character: High-Tech Silver on top for composure; MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Carneol Red metallic below for heartbeat and heat. It reads like Singapore in paint (ambition and refinement, progress and elegance), one continuous surface of intent.
Inside, Crystal White and Bengal Red Nappa leather exude cool serenity framed by quiet strength. The roof liner (diamond-stitched, illuminated, and finished in white) casts a gentle glow.
The tactility is obsessive in that very Maybach way: high-pile black floor mats with crystal-white borders and red topstitching; head-restraint cushions and matching pillows in edition colours; and a “1 OF 1” badge on the centre console that says what everyone is already thinking.
Built on the Best, Aimed at Tomorrow
Underneath the finery is the S 680 at its most considered: long-wheelbase, calm, chauffeur-friendly ride, and the sort of isolation that turns Orchard Road traffic into a screensaver.
