Charge+ opens new EV charging cluster at Tampines Retail Park

Charge+ has opened a new EV charging cluster at Tampines Retail Park, with a total of 38 chargers spread across four buildings.

EV charging operator Charge+ has opened a new cluster of chargers at Tampines Retail Park, consisting of a total of 38 charging points spread out across four buildings, namely Giant Hypermarket, Ikea Tampines, Courts Tampines and T-Space.

The cluster consists of a combination of both DC and AC chargers, and is designed to cater for high-turnover fast charging, as well as longer duration top ups. The breakdown of chargers in the area are as follows:

– Giant Hypermarket – 8 chargers (6 DC and 2 AC)
– Ikea Tampines – 20 chargers (2 DC and 18 AC)
– Courts Tampines – 8 chargers (2 DC and 6 AC)
– T-Space – 2 DC chargers

The official launch of the chargers was held at Giant Hypermarket on 31 July, and was graced by the guest-of-honour, Minister of State, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and Mayor of the North-East District, Baey Yam Keng.

Charge+ says that the new Tampines charging cluster is the largest in the Eastern and North Eastern part of Singapore, serving a significant proportion of EV drivers in the region. Crucially, the chargers are located at the free parking areas of all four buildings, further helping drivers reduce their cost when charging.

By having the chargers located at key facilities at Tampines Retail Park, EV drivers are able to conveniently charge their cars while going about their regular routine, such as going on a grocery run at Giant, shopping for furniture or appliances at Ikea or Courts, or visiting the T-Space industrial building.

The opening of the Tampines Retail Park charging cluster is in line with the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) vision of having a network of fast charging hubs across the island, with a target of having at least one in each HDB town, in order to meet the growing demand for EV charging in Singapore.
