Eugene Heng and Intarasoot Potjanart will represent Singapore at the BMW Golf Cup World Final in March 2027 after emerging victorious at the local National Final.
Two of Singapore’s leading amateur golfers are heading to South Africa after securing their places at the BMW Golf Cup World Final 2026.
Eugene Heng and Intarasoot Potjanart emerged as the respective Men’s Open and Ladies Open winners at the BMW Golf Cup National Final 2026, held at Tanah Merah Country Club’s Tampines Course from 18 to 21 August. They will now represent Singapore against national champions from around the world at Fancourt Golf Resort in South Africa in March 2027.
Their victories concluded a four-day programme that brought together BMW customers, media and business partners, with social golf rounds held across the opening three days before competition took centre stage for the National Final.
Singapore’s Best Earn Their Tickets To South Africa

Heng topped the Men’s Open category, which was open to players with handicaps between zero and 28. Joey Chang finished second, while Ng Seng Tat completed the podium in third.
In the Ladies Open, also contested across the same handicap range, Potjanart took first place ahead of Vicky Zan Jiao and Natasha Wong.

“Reaching the BMW Golf Cup World Final is a remarkable achievement, and we congratulate Eugene and Intarasoot on this well-deserved opportunity. We wish them every success as they represent Singapore in South Africa in 2027 and compete alongside outstanding amateur golfers from around the world. Moments like these reflect what the BMW Golf Cup is all about: celebrating achievement, rewarding dedication and creating memories that stay with participants for life.”
Rene Gerhard, Managing Director of BMW Group Asia.
More Than 500 Golfers Take Part

Competition may have determined who ultimately earned the tickets to South Africa, but the BMW Golf Cup has traditionally been positioned as much around its community as the scores on the card.
A total of 576 participants took part across the four-day tournament format this year, with the opening rounds providing opportunities for players to reconnect with familiar faces and meet others within Singapore’s golfing community.
“At BMW, we believe the strongest connections are built through shared experiences. The BMW Golf Cup National Final brings together customers who share a passion for golf, creating moments that go far beyond the game itself. With the return of the four-day tournament format, 576 participants had the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces while building new friendships along the way.”

Cars, Cameras And Hole-In-One Prizes

There was plenty at stake elsewhere on the course too. Players were presented with a selection of Nearest to Pin and Hole-in-One prizes, and some required a particularly accurate swing.
A hole-in-one at the fourth hole would have secured a BMW 520i M Sport, courtesy of Liberty Insurance, while repeating the feat at the 14th hole carried an even more electrifying prize: a BMW i5 M Sport, courtesy of DBS Bank.
At the 16th hole, the Nearest to Pin prize was a Leica SOFORT 2 100 Years of Leica camera with a roll of Leica film. A hole-in-one there would have earned Leica ZM 11 and ZM 12 watches.

BMW’s Golf in the Dark returned during dinner, with one nominated player from each table receiving two strokes to hit their choice of three illuminated interactive targets positioned at 50m, 75m and 100m. Each carried a different points value and lit up when struck by a golf ball.
From Singapore To The World Final

The BMW Golf Cup itself has been around considerably longer than many of its current competitors. Its history dates back to 1982, with the first World Final taking place in 1995.
It has since grown into the world’s largest international amateur golf tournament series, encompassing more than 800 qualifying tournaments and over 100,000 players across more than 40 countries.
