ChargEco Chargers Join SP Mobility Network As Singapore Streamlines EV Charging

More than 1,000 ChargEco charging points are being integrated into SP Mobility’s network, allowing motorists to access more chargers through a single app.

Owning an electric vehicle is becoming increasingly straightforward in Singapore. Finding somewhere to charge it, however, can occasionally involve juggling several different apps.

That is about to become a little easier; ChargEco’s charging network is progressively being integrated into SP Mobility’s infrastructure, with the transition beginning on 5 October 2026 and expected to conclude by the end of December.

The move follows SP Mobility’s acquisition of ChargEco earlier this year, bringing more than 1,000 public charging points into Singapore’s largest EV charging network.

One App, More Charging Locations

As ChargEco’s charging points are progressively rebranded as SP Mobility chargers, drivers will be able to locate, activate and pay for charging sessions directly through the SP app. They will also gain access to SP Mobility’s ChargeUP Rewards programme, which allows eligible users to accumulate points that can offset future charging costs.

The transition will take place in stages, with locations across Geylang, Kallang, Marine Parade and the Downtown Core among those scheduled for integration in October. Other areas, including Tampines, Woodlands, Punggol and Jurong West, are expected to follow in November.

Importantly, existing ChargEco chargers will remain accessible through the ChargEco app until their respective locations have completed the transition. Once a charger displays SP Mobility branding, however, motorists must use the SP app to begin and end their charging sessions.

What Happens To Existing ChargEco Users?

For motorists with money remaining in their ChargEco wallets, there are several dates worth remembering.

Wallet top-ups and usage will cease from 1 November 2026, while customers are encouraged to submit refund requests by 30 November. Refund processing fees have been waived to facilitate the transition.

The ChargEco app is scheduled to cease operations on 31 January 2027, although customers who miss the initial refund deadline can still submit requests afterwards. Existing users should also note that their charging history and receipts will not automatically transfer to the SP app.

To encourage motorists to make the switch, SP Mobility is offering eligible first-time users 500 ChargeUP points, equivalent to S$5, after completing a qualifying charging session of at least 10kWh by 31 December 2026.

Making EV Ownership A Little Simpler

As EV adoption continues to grow, the convenience of charging infrastructure is becoming just as important as the number of chargers available.

After all, having thousands of charging points across the island is only useful if motorists can access them without unnecessary complications.
