Bentayga EWB Mulliner brings more space and luxury to sir and ma’am.
No, seriously, it’s just easier to refer to the Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase Mulliner as the Bentayga EWB Mulliner.
Bentley says that “the flagship Bentayga EWB Mulliner offers more cabin space than any comparable luxury competitor and its bespoke enhancements make every journey an occasion to be savoured, equally as special from the driver’s seat or the expansive rear cabin, providing the world’s most luxurious SUV so far.”
Let’s start under the hood. 550hp and 770Nm from the four-litre twin-turbo V8 sees the 0-100km/h sprint dispatched in just 4.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 290km/h. In Bentley’s world, luxury does not mean forsaking performance. However, Bentley says the V8 can also do luxury limousine comfort to let this Bentayga glide along effortlessly.
Exterior details that set this apart from other Bentayga include Mulliner’s distinctive “Double Diamond” front grille and chrome front lower grille, which are complemented by Mulliner wing vents, with two-tone mirror caps in Satin Silver and body colour.
Another detail is the exclusive Mulliner 22-inch wheels in polished or grey painted and polished finishes, with self-levelling wheel caps that remain upright as the wheels rotate.
For those who prefer a more sinister appearance, this Bentayga can be ordered from launch with Mulliner Blackline Specification, which applies a gloss back treatment to all exterior chromework and mirror caps, but excludes the Bentley badges. A gloss black 22” Mulliner wheel completes the darker look.
On the inside, a choice of eight three-colour combinations curated by the Mulliner Design team are available. The tri-tone split of main hide, secondary hide and accent colour hide is a Mulliner design signature and is only available for Bentley’s pinnacle models.
Customers can also specify their own Mulliner Bespoke Interior, using any three colours, producing nearly 4,000 tri-tone interior colour combinations.
Complementing the curated colour choices from earlier is Grand Black veneer trim which showcases the mirror-finish polished surface achieved by Bentley’s wood shop, with overlays of silver Mulliner lettering and the Bentayga silhouette to the passenger fascia, the Bentley ‘B’ on door waistrails and Mulliner chrome patterning on the rear picnic trays.
At the rear, the Bentayga EWB Mulliner is available in 4-seat or 4+1 seating, and no matter which is chosen, Bentley Airline Seat specification is available. Bentley says “This is the most advanced seat ever fitted to a car, with 22 ways of adjustment and world-firsts in a new auto climate sensing system and postural adjustment technology.”
In Relax mode, the seat can recline to nearly 40 degrees while the front passenger seat simultaneously moves forward while a footrest drops down from the front passenger seatback for that Business Class experience on roads and highways.
With the auto climate seat technology keeping the occupant nice and comfy and Postural Adjustment continuously but subtly changing the shape of the seat to ease pressure points, one can chillax without worry with one’s favourite glass of champagne.
Add to that other ‘bling-tastic’ additions like Bentley Diamond Illumination for the interior, Mulliner clock on the centre console, deep pile wool overmats and Wilton wool carpets, and carefully selected organic leather and one can stretch out in the lap of luxury at the back of the Bentayga EWB Mulliner.
While doing 290km/h, if Sir or Ma’am likes.
