BYD Highlights Future Commercial Vehicles At SITCE 2024

As the largest exhibitor and the exclusive Merlion Partner at SITCE 2024, BYD is showcasing vehicles that will aid in future sustainable transportation.

BYD placed four new commercial vehicles on display at the Singapore International Transport Congress and Exhibition (SITCE) 2024, including the B12DS Double-Deck Bus and the heavy-duty T9R Truck.

There’s also the BYD Autonomous Bus, developed in collaboration with TIER IV. Already operational at Komatsu Airport in Japan, it’s a rolling showcase of artificial intelligence and cutting-edge sensor tech.

“We are delighted to showcase our latest BYD pure electric commercial double-deck bus and trucks at SITCE 2024 in Singapore. This marks an important step in our commitment to supporting the local government’s efforts in providing safe, reliable, and sustainable public transport solutions,” said Mr Tian Chunlong, General Manager, BYD Commercial Vehicle Division.

“We look forward to demonstrating BYD’s advanced technologies and products to a wider audience in this international trade show,” he added.

“We are thrilled to be the largest exhibitor at SITCE 2024, showcasing our latest advancements in electric mobility. We believe in pioneering sustainable solutions that not only meet the demands of today’s transportation challenges but also pave the way for a greener future. Key products such as the B12DS double-deck bus and T9R truck are primed for local market demand,” said James Ng, Managing Director of BYD Singapore & Philippines.

Arguably the most important vehicle of the lot was the T9R Truck. In a move to support Singapore’s Green Plan 2030, BYD has teamed up with Inchcape+, officially making them the distributor of the T9R truck in Singapore.

The partnership was marked with an order for 100 T9R units, the largest acquisition of BYD electric trucks in the country to date. Deliveries kick off in Q2 2025.
