“There’s a saying in Silicon Valley: ‘First is better than perfect,’” said Sheldon Trollope, the Communications and Product Officer for AutoApp on the tech industry’s tendency to rush under-developed products to market only to fix them later through firmware updates. “For AutoApp, a good consumer experience is paramount so we decided to hold back for a few more weeks for an additional round of testing.”

All scratches, dings and other damages are recorded digitally before taking over the car.

LEGO CARS SALE: Drive What you Love with Toys R Us https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=1601 Wed, 20 May 2020 08:59:57 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=1601 Build some of the coolest dream cars that you can buy online.

SINGAPORE – The latest video clip from LEGO is one of the coolest toy commercials we’ve seen in a while. Well, since the McDonald’s Tomica Supra Happy Meal promo launched earlier this month actually.

The video starts with miniaturised Ferrari F8 Tributo. Driven through a house full of LEGO cars. Soon, its driver starts racing with other models from the Speed Champion and Technic collections. At some point, it even races with motorsports cars that can be found in the Forza video games.

With cuts of footage between full-sized cars and the LEGO versions, the sequence is exciting to watch as any Fast & Furious chase scene.

This time however, Singaporeans will be able to participate in this offer. Toy R Us Singapore has launched an exclusive online Build It, Drive It, Love It promotion. It centres around the LEGO YouTube clip, Drive What You Love. Most of models in the video are on sale from the toy seller’s online store.

From 15 May to 10 July 2020, Toy R Us is offering a free towel with a spend of $60 on the promoted line of LEGO toys. There is also an online exclusive offer of a free backpack with a spend of $160 and above.

Speaking of Fast & Furious, one of the models on sale in the Toy R Us promotion is the LEGO Technic Dom’s Dodge Charger. The highly-detailed replica features that famous supercharged V8 with working pistons and dual bottles of NoS of course.

We might have until next year for the next FF movie but we can get the car now

Another highlight that deserves special mention in the online offer is the LEGO Speed Champions Nissan GT-R NISMO. In the full-sized world, this car holds the record for the fastest drift. Fans are more than welcome to try to beat it with their 298-piece replica.

BMW Z4 v TOYOTA GR SUPRA: Video review https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=1465 Sat, 09 May 2020 12:41:19 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=1465 How different can two cars be if they have the same drivetrain and chassis? We drive the mechanically identical BMW Z4 M40i and Toyota GR Supra back to back.

It took not just one but two drives for the AutoApp team to decide if they prefer the BMW Z4 M40i or the Toyota GR Supra. Both feature identical mechanicals but built on very different philosophies.

It’s no secret that both cars are based on the Z4 so the BMW should enjoy the ‘home ground’ advantage since the engine, gearbox and chassis comes from the German carmaker. However, the Toyota has a few surprises up its sleeve with a lower kerb weight. It somehow manages to incorporate the typical lithness and finesse that Japanese sports cars are known for.

It’s been over 25 years since a new Toyota Supra was launched so this is one car we have been looking forward to driving. When its predecessor came out, it was seen as a Ferrari-challenger. Today, the GR Supra is targeted at cars like the Audi TT and Porsche Boxster.

The BMW Z4 on the other hand, has matured nicely into a car that can handle touring duties as well as it can a B-road blast.

So which would we take home? You’ll have to watch our video to find out. Let us know what you think in the comments and don’t forget to subscribe so you won’t miss more videos that will be coming out.
