4 Series – AutoApp Dev https://www.autoapp.sg/dev Mon, 07 Oct 2024 09:53:05 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9 BMW Launches Refreshed 4 Series and i4 In Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=277818 Mon, 07 Oct 2024 09:53:05 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=277818 BMW Asia has just unveiled two exciting new additions to their line-up in Singapore, the all-electric BMW i4 and the refreshed BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe.

At first glance, both the i4 and the 4 Series Gran Coupe sport slim headlights and that unmistakable vertically aligned BMW kidney grille.

But, the i4’s electric powertrain means it needs less cooling, so you’ll notice its kidney grille has a fully enclosed upper section. The i4 also gets an M Sport package as standard, with a diffuser element in the rear bumper.

On the flip side, the 4 Series Gran Coupe opts for a more traditional look. Its air intakes now feature a mesh structure in matte Quartz silver, and the twin exhausts have grown, now measuring a brawny 100mm in diameter, up from 90mm.

Then there’s the i4 M50 xDrive, which boasts a design clearly inspired by the M4. The iconic BMW kidney grille is decked out in high-gloss black, complete with the BMW M logo.

One thing all three cars share is BMW’s Adaptive LED headlights as standard. Rims-wise, the i4 rolls on 19-inch M aerodynamic wheels as standard, while the 4 Series Gran Coupe gets 18-inch M wheels. The i4 M50 xDrive, of course, comes with 19-inch M light alloy wheels.

Inside, all models now come with a newly designed M leather steering wheel. It’s got a three-spoke design with a flat-bottomed rim, and the i4 M50 xDrive even throws in BMW M-coloured decorative stitching and a bold red centre marker for good measure.

BMW’s latest iDrive system (BMW OS 8.5) with QuickSelect is also present, for controlling vehicle functions or accessing digital services. Most functions are now operated through touch or voice commands.

For those ready to embrace the electric revolution, BMW Asia is making the transition a breeze with a choice of two EV charging packages. Opt for home charging, and you’ll get a BMW Wallbox with complimentary installation.

Prefer to charge on the go and you’ll receive 10,000kWh of charging over three years at Shell Recharge stations.

Facelifted BMW 4 Series and M4 Debuts In Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=275303 Wed, 12 Jun 2024 18:56:33 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=275303 The LCI facelifted BMW 4 Series and M4 models come with enhanced looks and performance, plus an improved BMW OS8.5 infotainment system.

BMW has just rolled out the updated 4 Series and M4 models in Singapore. There are 4 new models in total – 2 coupes, 2 cabriolets.

The 4 Series range features the sleek 420i Coupe and the elegant 420i Convertible, while the M4 family boasts the M4 Competition Coupe and the M4 Competition Convertible, both equipped with M xDrive (all-wheel drive).

What’s new? The refreshed 4 Series Coupe and Convertible sport redesigned headlights with chevron-shaped daytime running lights.

At the rear, the once-optional LaserLight technology is now standard, making those taillights pop. This is a first for BMW’s volume-produced models.

The M4 Competition models too get the headlamp and taillight upgrades. As the crème de la crème of the lineup, they also flaunt redesigned BMW and M logos with a silver surround, complemented by new 19-inch forged alloy wheels available in a sleek silver finish.

The M4 models can be further tailored with the M Race Track Package, which trims the weight by up to 25kg thanks to features like M Carbon ceramic brakes and M Carbon bucket seats.

And for those wanting to make an even bolder statement, optional M design graphics for the bonnet and boot lid are available.

Step inside the M4, and you’re greeted by a new flat-bottom steering wheel, illuminated air-con vents, and M-specific details.

The infotainment system has been upgraded to BMW’s OS 8.5, faster and more intuitive than ever before. The 4 Series models also benefit from these interior enhancements, minus the M branding.

Performance-wise, the 420i Coupe and Convertible are powered by turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engines that churn out 181bhp and 300Nm of torque.

Now, with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, the integrated starter generator adds an extra 11hp for smoother take-offs. The 420i Coupe sprints to 100km/h in 7.5 seconds, while the heavier Convertible does it in 8.2 seconds.

Both models feature a 50-50 weight distribution, M Sports suspension, and M sport brakes.

For the adrenaline junkies, the M4 Competition models pack a punch with their twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six engines, now producing 523bhp and 650Nm of torque, thanks to a modified engine control system.

The M4 Coupe rockets from 0-100km/h in just 3.5 seconds, with the Convertible close behind at 3.7 seconds. The M xDrive system enhances traction but can be turned off to enable some serious oversteer and drifting action.

Interested? Pricing for the aforementioned models is as follows.

BMW ModelPrice At Time Of Writing (including COE)
4 Series Coupe 420i M Sport$309,888
4 Series Convertible 420i M Sport$330,888

BMW Facelifts The 4 Series and i4 https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=274316 Thu, 02 May 2024 09:55:04 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=274316 The BMW 4 Series and i4 now come with BMW’s Operating System 8.5 and have new taillights reminiscent of the M4 CSL.

BMW has just lifted the veil on the latest upgrades to its all-electric i4 and the 4 Series Gran Coupe. At the forefront of this new wave of design, both models boast a redesigned front grille, with the i4 featuring a fresh mesh pattern.

This grille, surrounded by standard matt chrome or an optional gloss black, is accompanied by new headlights. These can now be upgraded to adaptive units with a matrix high beam, echoing the rear design of the BMW M4 CSL.

For those who wish to make an even bolder statement, BMW now offers the cars in new Cape York metallic and Fire Red metallic, alongside new 19-inch M aerodynamic wheels and 20-inch BMW Individual aerodynamic wheels.

Inside, the cabins of both models have seen significant enhancements. Standard features now include a sleek two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated multifunction buttons.

For those who crave a sportier touch, an M leather steering wheel with three spokes and a flat-bottomed rim is available.

BMW has also transitioned to its Operating System 8.5. This move sees a redesigned instrument panel that reduces button clutter, opting instead for a more streamlined gear selector and physical rotary controls for adjusting the air conditioning vents.

Ambient lighting now comes standard across both models, enhanced by contour lighting around the newly designed central seam vents, adding a touch of elegance and modernity to the driving experience.

Variants

The BMW i4 now has a new xDrive40 variant to its lineup, boasting a robust 396bhp and all-wheel drive. This addition promises a dynamic driving experience that’s both powerful and precise, and fills the gap between the i4 eDrive 35 and i4 m50.

Meanwhile, the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe continues to offer a variety of engines, all linked to an 8-speed ZF transmission.

These range from the efficient 181bhp 2.0-litre engine in the BMW 420i Gran Coupe to the more vigorous 241bhp 2.0-litre engine in the BMW 430i xDrive Gran Coupe.

The standout remains the 430i xDrive Gran Coupe with a 368bhp 3.0-litre engine that delivers 500Nm of torque, allowing it to dash the century sprint in a mere 4.7 seconds.

LCI BMW 4 Series Coupe and Convertible To Be Launched https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=271640 Mon, 05 Feb 2024 08:17:15 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=271640 Life Cycle Impulse (LCI) brings some refreshes to the G22 and G23 4 Series.

The G22 and G23 BMW 4 Series coupe and convertible respectively have gotten a mid-cycle refresh, or Life Cycle Impulse in BMW-speak. Market launch is expected to be in March 2024.

Both coupe and convertible receive slim LED headlights, and the large kidney grille continues its appearance here. The headlights themselves are visually and functionally upgraded.

The side lights, daytime running lights (DRLs) and turn signal indicators are vertically arranged. Cars equipped with Comfort Access will have a new Welcome Light Animation.

Adaptive LED headlights with matrix beam, urban lights and exclusive BMW M4 CSL-esque Laserlight rear lights can be ordered as options. M Shadowline lights are also optionally available as part of the M Sport Package Pro.

Design element changes in the rear end see the 4 Series’ width emphasised even more. An optional M Sport package includes a black diffuser and larger 100mm tailpipes.

Two new paint colours, New Cape York Metallic and Fire Red Metallic, have been added to the range of shades. If that’s not enough, pick from an extensive selection of BMW Individual paint colours and BMW Individual special paint finishes.

Three new 19-inch alloy rims are also optionally available, as is an M Carbon exterior package and a wide selection of BMW M Performance Parts.

On the inside, both coupe and convertible receive newly-designed steering wheels. Both the standard and M leather steering wheels feature flat bottoms.

BMW Curved Display is also here, and features Operating System 9 or iDrive 9. The number of buttons and controls in the cockpit is further reduced as a result.

The standard-fit sports seats are covered in Sensatec perforated material. Optional Vernasca leather trim with decorative quilting is now offered in bi-colour Black/Red. BMW Individual Merino leather is also available in three colours.

However, if leather is not your thing, M Perfomtex is available as a sustainable alternative for the 4 Series Coupe. High-quality velour-type material in Black is available exclusively for cars fitted with the M Sport package, and for M Performance models.

Underhood, three petrol and three diesel engines will be available from launch. Singapore will likely receive the petrol engines only. The M Performance models will enjoy a six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with an output of 374hp for the M440i.

Two four-cylinder engines will also be available with 184hp in the 420i and 245hp in the 430i. xDrive all-wheel drive will be standard in the 430i and M440i. A 48V mild hybrid system will come as standard in the M440i, and all engines get an eight-speed automatic Steptronic Sport transmission.

Production of the G22 & G23 LCI 4 Series will continue at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing, which also produces the 8 Series and M4.
