Audi Q6 e-tron – AutoApp Dev https://www.autoapp.sg/dev Wed, 05 Nov 2025 10:50:12 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9 Audi Q6 e-tron RWD 83 kWh Review https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=284043 Wed, 05 Nov 2025 10:50:12 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=284043 Audi is stepping deeper into the electric era with the Q6 e-tron. Built on the new PPE platform (shared with Porsche), this is not a converted petrol car. It is designed as an EV from day one. And yet — very intentionally — it still looks, feels and behaves like an Audi.

That works in its favour in many ways. But in a market now crowded with electric SUVs from every direction, the question isn’t whether the Q6 is good. It’s whether it still stands out.

Familiar Audi Design, Just Electrified

I like that Audi didn’t try too hard to make it look futuristic. No wild panels or spaceship drama. Clean surfaces, strong shoulder line, distinctive grille treatment — very Audi, very understated. If you parked it beside a Q5 or Q7, it would still fit into the family.

In Singapore, that also means it won’t age badly. But it also means it doesn’t scream for attention the way a BMW iX or Hyundai IONIQ 5 does.

Electric Performance That’s Calm, Not Crazy

This rear-wheel drive version uses a single electric motor paired to an 83 kWh battery.
Power comes in at around 248 bhp
with a maximum torque of 450 Nm. The 0–100 km/h dash can be dispatched in 7.6 seconds.

It isn’t here to fight Teslas in a drag race. What you get instead is quiet confidence, a smooth power delivery, stable handling and a ride that feels tuned for everyday comfort, not unnecessary drama.
Steering is accurate, weighty enough. The chassis feels sorted. It drives like an Audi should: polished, measured, sensible.

Subtle Luxury Done Right

The cabin isn’t trying to be a tech festival. Yes, there are large screens and OLED panels, but it still feels like a proper car, not a digital experiment. Good-quality materials, supportive seats, and soft touch points; the refinement is very Audi. Rear passengers get decent space, though the high window line makes the back feel slightly enclosed. It is comfortable, premium and usable. But emotionally, it doesn’t quite surprise you.

Range and Charging: Practical for Singapore Life

• Battery: 83 kWh (net)
• Claimed range: up to 430 km
• Real-world expectation in Singapore: around 350 km with air conditioning on and normal driving
• DC Fast Charging: up to 225 kW
• Charging ports on both sides of the car

Around town, no anxiety. Cross-border to Malaysia? Possible with planning. It is not class-leading in range, but it is respectable. Boot space measures 526 litres, with a bonus 64-litre front frunk. Useful, practical, no nonsense.

The Big Question Is: Does It Still Shine?

And here’s where it gets interesting.
The Q6 e-tron is well-built, refined and thoroughly competent. But the EV SUV world in 2025 is not the same playground Audi dominated in the past. Today, it sits alongside:

Avatr 11 – Bold styling, dramatic road presence, feature-packed
Mercedes EQB – 3-pointed star, more versatile
Volvo EX30 / Kia EV9 – Cheaper, creative, boundary-pushing design
Tesla Model Y – Also cheaper, raw efficiency, fast, minimalist and tech-led
BYD Sealion 7 – Yes, also cheaper, feature-packed, but common

Sure, some of those are in a different segment, but buyers these days will consider everything from price to specs. Against this backdrop, Audi risks blending into the middle; it is too safe, too polite and almost too refined to provoke emotion.

For long-time Audi owners, this will be exactly why they like it. It feels familiar. It feels premium without shouting.
But for buyers jumping into EVs for the first time and looking for something fresh, bold or exciting, the Q6 may not sparkle the way an Audi once did.

A Car You Respect, But Do You Desire It?

I respect how the Q6 e-tron drives. It is calm, well-made and premium in a quiet, confident way.
It doesn’t try to be a Tesla. It doesn’t need to.

But in a world filled with electric SUVs that scream for attention, Audi’s subtlety is now both its greatest strength and its weakness.

If you want an electric SUV that still feels like an Audi, clean, honest, and well-executed, this car makes a lot of sense.
If you’re looking for excitement or something that feels like the future, you might want to look elsewhere. It is a good car. A very good car.
But I’m not entirely sure it still sparkles.

Rear-Wheel Drive Audi Q6 e-tron Arrives In Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=282140 Sun, 11 May 2025 16:08:00 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=282140 Hot on the heels of its quattro sibling’s debut at this year’s Singapore Motorshow, the Audi Q6 e-tron rear-wheel drive variant has now officially landed.

The Q6 e-tron is Audi’s first electric model to roll out from its Ingolstadt factory, and more importantly, the first built on the brand’s modular Premium Platform Electric (PPE).

Underneath the elegant bodywork of the Q6 lies a rear-mounted electric motor producing up to 285kW of power, delivering a range of 464 kilometres on a full charge. Audi has also re-engineered its electric drivetrain to be 30 percent more efficient compared to the original e-tron series.

For those needing a quick top-up, the Q6 e-tron delivers up to 255 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes using high-speed DC charging.

A 10–80 percent charge takes just over 21 minutes, thanks to a maximum charging capacity of 225kW on this rear-wheel drive variant.

Inside, Audi has turned the cabin into something between a cockpit and a lounge. Up front is the new Digital Stage, a fully reimagined infotainment layout featuring the Audi MMI panoramic display and a dedicated passenger screen, which makes long road trips feel more like business class flights.

If that doesn’t impress your friends, the lighting certainly will. The Q6 e-tron debuts Audi’s digital light signatures, with up to eight customisable patterns in both the Matrix LED headlights and OLED 2.0 rear lights.

To celebrate the launch, Audi Singapore is transforming its Audi House of Progress into an EV experience centre from 10 to 12 May 2025. Visitors can expect hands-on test drives of the new Q6 e-tron rear-wheel drive, sun-catcher crafts for the kids, and even golf coaching sessions by Lip Golf.

“The Audi Q6 e-tron is an important model for us. As the first electric model built on the Premium Platform Electric, it represents a new generation of electric mobility at Audi,” said Martin Bayer, Managing Director of Audi Singapore. “Alongside the upcoming Audi A6 e-tron launch later this year, we’re offering more electric options to meet the evolving demands of the Singapore market.”

For those keen to make the switch to rear-driven electric refinement, the Audi Q6 e-tron rear-wheel drive is priced at S$336,999, while the more powerful quattro version goes for S$412,999, both inclusive of COE and VES.

Audi Reveals All-New Q6 e-tron SUV https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=273357 Sun, 07 Apr 2024 06:24:31 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=273357 The new Audi Q6 e-tron will come with a 94.9kWh battery and intelligent taillights that can warn of potential hazards.

Audi is amping up its electric SUV game with the introduction of the Q6 e-tron, a sleek new addition to its lineup that neatly slots between the Q8 e-tron and the Q4 e-tron Sportback, which made its debut at the 2024 Singapore Motor Show.

Perched on the cutting-edge PPE platform, a brainchild of both Audi and Porsche, the Q6 e-tron boasts a 94.9kWh battery that promises a range of 625km.

This powerhouse fuels a pair of motors, one permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear and an asynchronous motor at the front, giving the Q6 e-tron quattro a combined output of 382bhp.

Audi is even launching a faster SQ6 e-tron. Sporting the same beefy battery, this variant ups the ante with more potent electric motors, cranking out a total of 510bhp.

This propels the SQ6 e-tron from 0 to 100km/h in a mere 4.3 seconds, edging out rivals like the Mercedes-AMG EQE43 SUV. It also boasts a longer range of 598km compared to the Mercedes’ 488km.

Speeds of up to 270kW allow you to boost the battery from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes. For those eyeing efficiency, Audi plans to introduce rear-wheel drive variants of the Q6 e-tron, though details remain under wraps for now.

Thanks to the PPE platform, the Q6 e-tron sports a long wheelbase and short overhangs, giving it a dynamic and robust stance.

Up front, the Singleframe “grille” echoes the design of the Q8 e-tron, available with either a selenite silver or gloss black surround.

The rear features gently sloping D-pillars that merge into muscular shoulders, adding to the car’s athletic profile.

Inside, the Q6 e-tron is just as impressive, equipped with a new generation of digital OLED technology. This allows for eight different digital light signatures and can even alert other road users to potential hazards.

The cabin boasts a new MMI panoramic display, with an 11.9-inch digital instrument display and a 14.5-inch curved infotainment touchscreen, both mirroring the shape of the front grille. There’s even an extra 10.9-inch touchscreen for the front passenger.

For an immersive driving experience, an Augmented Reality Head-Up Display projects important information, such as speed and navigation, seemingly floating up to 200m ahead. The Q6 e-tron also features an Audi Assistant voice assistant that learns user routines and makes proactive suggestions.

Storage won’t be an issue, with a trunk capacity of 526 litres, expandable to 1,529 litres with the rear bench folded down, and a 64-litre frunk under the bonnet.

Set to roll off the assembly line at Audi’s Gyor plant in Hungary, the Q6 e-tron is scheduled to hit the German and other European markets in the third quarter of 2024.
