bentayga – AutoApp Dev https://www.autoapp.sg/dev Thu, 05 Jun 2025 13:27:19 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9 Bentley Debuts New Bentayga Speed https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=282490 Thu, 05 Jun 2025 13:27:19 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=282490 It’s not every day that you come across a car that can do 310km/h, carry a boot full of champagne, and still look like it just stepped off a Savile Row catwalk. But Bentley’s never been a brand for the ordinary, and the new Bentayga Speed is anything but.

This is now the most powerful, most dynamic, and arguably the most thrilling version of the Bentayga the world has seen. You might remember its predecessor, powered by a thunderous W12. Well, that gentle giant has now been dethroned by a feistier, leaner, and more agile V8 twin-turbo.

Bentley Bentayga Speed

Let’s get the numbers out of the way. 650 PS. 850 Nm of torque. 0 to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds. Top speed is 310km/h. In a vehicle that still pampers you with diamond-quilted leather and a champagne cooler.

A sports exhaust system comes standard, giving the Bentley Bentayga Speed a deep, baritone growl from its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that builds into a rousing crescendo the harder you push. But if you want something with more theatrical flair, Bentley also offers an optional Titanium Akrapovič system that sounds like thunder breaking over Westminster. Quad tailpipes complete the look.

Now, it’s one thing to go fast in a straight line. It’s another to make a 2.5-tonne luxury SUV handle like a performance saloon. Bentley’s new SPORT mode turns up the aggression, increasing suspension damping by 15%, sharpening steering feel, and enabling torque vectoring for better corner exits.

If that isn’t enough, the optional carbon ceramic brakes are paired with ESC Dynamic, which introduces launch control and on-throttle drift angles. The Bentayga Speed, in the right hands (and on the right roads), can now step sideways like a rally car, all while coddling your backside with ventilated massaging seats.

There’s also rear-wheel steering for better agility at low speeds and added stability when you’re really gunning it. It shortens the turning circle and sharpens responses so dramatically, you might forget you’re driving an SUV until you glance in the rear-view mirror and see your kids’ Lego fort still intact in the back.

You get dark-tinted headlamps, grey tail lamps, black brightware, and an optional black roof that subtly screams authority. New 23-inch wheels are available with the carbon brake option, and come in finishes that sound more like luxury watch trims than car parts: satin grey, machined black, or gloss black.

And if you’re particular about the details, how about brake callipers in one of seven accent colours? Because nothing says bespoke like matching your brakes to your cufflinks.

Slide into the cabin and you’re greeted by Bentley’s exquisite “Precision Diamond” quilt pattern and a darker-than-usual leather split exclusive to Speed models. There are ‘Speed’ badges tucked in tastefully; on the fascia, treadplates, and seat embroidery, just in case your passengers forgot what you were driving.

Even the air vents can be finished in dark tint, bringing a moody sophistication that’s more British gentlemen’s club than tech-laden cockpit.

If you’re after a statement car that doesn’t just turn heads but leaves tyre marks on your expectations, the Bentley Bentayga Speed is worth a very serious look.

Bentley Will Be Retiring Its Current-generation V8 https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=274713 Fri, 17 May 2024 01:30:00 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=274713 We are not saying goodbye to the Bentley V8 just yet, but they’ll return as hybrid powertrains.

Today marks the end of an era for Bentley Motors in the Asia Pacific region, as they bid farewell to the venerable 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that has been the beating heart of the Continental GT, Continental GTC, and Flying Spur model lines.

The shift is part of Bentley’s ambitious Beyond100 strategy, steering towards a future where every model line will feature a hybrid variant by 2024.

The journey towards electrification reflects a rising demand for more sustainable luxury vehicles, as seen with the popularity of the Bentayga and Flying Spur Hybrid models.

Introduced back in 2012, the 4.0-litre V8 engine quickly became synonymous with Bentley’s blend of luxury and performance, powering more than 53,000 vehicles across the Continental and Flying Spur ranges.

Crafted meticulously by hand in Bentley’s Crewe headquarters, each V8 engine improved efficiency and reduced emissions compared to its predecessors.

Today’s V8s boast a robust 542 bhp and a hefty 770 Nm of torque, available from as low as 2,000 rpm, sustaining this output to 4,500 rpm.

While the V8 will continue to roar within the Bentayga lineup, the final V8-powered Continental GT, GTC, and Flying Spur models are making their last bow in markets including Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

With production wrapping up and final deliveries scheduled for June, this transition honours a legacy of performance that has defined the brand for nearly a decade.

Bentley Bentayga EWB Mulliner Launched https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=267028 Sun, 27 Aug 2023 17:27:13 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=267028 Bentayga EWB Mulliner brings more space and luxury to sir and ma’am.

No, seriously, it’s just easier to refer to the Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase Mulliner as the Bentayga EWB Mulliner.

Bentley says that “the flagship Bentayga EWB Mulliner offers more cabin space than any comparable luxury competitor and its bespoke enhancements make every journey an occasion to be savoured, equally as special from the driver’s seat or the expansive rear cabin, providing the world’s most luxurious SUV so far.”

Let’s start under the hood. 550hp and 770Nm from the four-litre twin-turbo V8 sees the 0-100km/h sprint dispatched in just 4.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 290km/h. In Bentley’s world, luxury does not mean forsaking performance. However, Bentley says the V8 can also do luxury limousine comfort to let this Bentayga glide along effortlessly.

Exterior details that set this apart from other Bentayga include Mulliner’s distinctive “Double Diamond” front grille and chrome front lower grille, which are complemented by Mulliner wing vents, with two-tone mirror caps in Satin Silver and body colour.

Another detail is the exclusive Mulliner 22-inch wheels in polished or grey painted and polished finishes, with self-levelling wheel caps that remain upright as the wheels rotate.

For those who prefer a more sinister appearance, this Bentayga can be ordered from launch with Mulliner Blackline Specification, which applies a gloss back treatment to all exterior chromework and mirror caps, but excludes the Bentley badges. A gloss black 22” Mulliner wheel completes the darker look.

On the inside, a choice of eight three-colour combinations curated by the Mulliner Design team are available. The tri-tone split of main hide, secondary hide and accent colour hide is a Mulliner design signature and is only available for Bentley’s pinnacle models.

Customers can also specify their own Mulliner Bespoke Interior, using any three colours, producing nearly 4,000 tri-tone interior colour combinations.

Complementing the curated colour choices from earlier is Grand Black veneer trim which showcases the mirror-finish polished surface achieved by Bentley’s wood shop, with overlays of silver Mulliner lettering and the Bentayga silhouette to the passenger fascia, the Bentley ‘B’ on door waistrails and Mulliner chrome patterning on the rear picnic trays.

At the rear, the Bentayga EWB Mulliner is available in 4-seat or 4+1 seating, and no matter which is chosen, Bentley Airline Seat specification is available. Bentley says “This is the most advanced seat ever fitted to a car, with 22 ways of adjustment and world-firsts in a new auto climate sensing system and postural adjustment technology.”

In Relax mode, the seat can recline to nearly 40 degrees while the front passenger seat simultaneously moves forward while a footrest drops down from the front passenger seatback for that Business Class experience on roads and highways.

With the auto climate seat technology keeping the occupant nice and comfy and Postural Adjustment continuously but subtly changing the shape of the seat to ease pressure points, one can chillax without worry with one’s favourite glass of champagne.

Add to that other ‘bling-tastic’ additions like Bentley Diamond Illumination for the interior, Mulliner clock on the centre console, deep pile wool overmats and Wilton wool carpets, and carefully selected organic leather and one can stretch out in the lap of luxury at the back of the Bentayga EWB Mulliner.

While doing 290km/h, if Sir or Ma’am likes.

Bentley Bentayga EWB Azure Launches in Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=262927 Sat, 04 Mar 2023 17:17:31 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=262927 The Bentley Bentayga SUV gets longer proportions and updated features, whilst maintaining its quintessential British charm.

Picture this. You are a Bentley Bentayga owner, and you think, “Hmm, it sure would be nice to have a little more room in the back”. Well, we now have the solution for you. You can now buy the Bentley Bentayga with an extended wheelbase, extending the already long 5.14-metre car by an extra 18cm.

How much for the extra 18cm? This new Bentley Bentayga EWB will start at S$1,329,000, without COE and options.

The Bentayga is Bentley’s contender in the ultra-luxury SUV market. It was first launched in 2016 and was an avenue for the uber-rich to parade around with added height. Since then, the space has become more saturated with more models sprouting up. Think Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX, and the upcoming Ferrari Purosangue.

So where does this extra length end up? Well, it’s given to the rear passengers, with the extension made after the B-pillars. This gives the Bentley Bentayga EWB slightly longer rear doors over the standard variant. These doors are heavy, but thankfully you can close them automatically.

There are 5 seats in the cabin, though it’s more suited as a 4 seater, with two rear seats featuring individual 16-way reclining seats, dubbed airline seats. The middle rear seat folds down to provide access to cupholders and storage. Should you want standard seats, you could order the car in its original 5-seater specification or even a full 4-seater configuration which removes the centre jump seat altogether.

What you see here is actually the Azure spec variant of the Bentley Bentayga EWB, which allows for even more configuration options. “The Azure range provides Bentley customers with a curated selection of features designed to enhance the well-being and comfort of the vehicle’s occupants, making every journey a relaxing experience regardless of distance.

Azure is more than a specification; it includes tactile and visual cues designed to reduce stress and promote wellbeing, along with driver assistance technologies for smoother, safer journeys,” claims Bentley.

Under the hood, it’s the same formula. The Bentley Bentayga EWB houses a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, with 550 bhp and a 770Nm of torque on hand at the push of a pedal.

All-wheel drive mated to an 8-speed transmission helps it rock the centurion sprint in just 4.6 seconds, an impressive feat for such a large SUV. Despite its length, you can still navigate around tight bends fairly easily thanks to electric four-wheel steering fitted as standard.

Sadly, due to Bentley’s Beyond 100 electrification plan, what you’re seeing here could be the last generation of ICE-powered Bentley. The Mulsanne is already axed in favour of the Bentayga.
