Bentley – AutoApp Dev https://www.autoapp.sg/dev Thu, 05 Jun 2025 13:27:19 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9 Bentley Debuts New Bentayga Speed https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=282490 Thu, 05 Jun 2025 13:27:19 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=282490 It’s not every day that you come across a car that can do 310km/h, carry a boot full of champagne, and still look like it just stepped off a Savile Row catwalk. But Bentley’s never been a brand for the ordinary, and the new Bentayga Speed is anything but.

This is now the most powerful, most dynamic, and arguably the most thrilling version of the Bentayga the world has seen. You might remember its predecessor, powered by a thunderous W12. Well, that gentle giant has now been dethroned by a feistier, leaner, and more agile V8 twin-turbo.

Bentley Bentayga Speed

Let’s get the numbers out of the way. 650 PS. 850 Nm of torque. 0 to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds. Top speed is 310km/h. In a vehicle that still pampers you with diamond-quilted leather and a champagne cooler.

A sports exhaust system comes standard, giving the Bentley Bentayga Speed a deep, baritone growl from its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that builds into a rousing crescendo the harder you push. But if you want something with more theatrical flair, Bentley also offers an optional Titanium Akrapovič system that sounds like thunder breaking over Westminster. Quad tailpipes complete the look.

Bentley Bentayga Speed

Now, it’s one thing to go fast in a straight line. It’s another to make a 2.5-tonne luxury SUV handle like a performance saloon. Bentley’s new SPORT mode turns up the aggression, increasing suspension damping by 15%, sharpening steering feel, and enabling torque vectoring for better corner exits.

If that isn’t enough, the optional carbon ceramic brakes are paired with ESC Dynamic, which introduces launch control and on-throttle drift angles. The Bentayga Speed, in the right hands (and on the right roads), can now step sideways like a rally car, all while coddling your backside with ventilated massaging seats.

Bentley Bentayga Speed

There’s also rear-wheel steering for better agility at low speeds and added stability when you’re really gunning it. It shortens the turning circle and sharpens responses so dramatically, you might forget you’re driving an SUV until you glance in the rear-view mirror and see your kids’ Lego fort still intact in the back.

You get dark-tinted headlamps, grey tail lamps, black brightware, and an optional black roof that subtly screams authority. New 23-inch wheels are available with the carbon brake option, and come in finishes that sound more like luxury watch trims than car parts: satin grey, machined black, or gloss black.

And if you’re particular about the details, how about brake callipers in one of seven accent colours? Because nothing says bespoke like matching your brakes to your cufflinks.

Bentley Bentayga Speed interior

Slide into the cabin and you’re greeted by Bentley’s exquisite “Precision Diamond” quilt pattern and a darker-than-usual leather split exclusive to Speed models. There are ‘Speed’ badges tucked in tastefully; on the fascia, treadplates, and seat embroidery, just in case your passengers forgot what you were driving.

Bentley Bentayga Speed rear seats

Even the air vents can be finished in dark tint, bringing a moody sophistication that’s more British gentlemen’s club than tech-laden cockpit.

If you’re after a statement car that doesn’t just turn heads but leaves tyre marks on your expectations, the Bentley Bentayga Speed is worth a very serious look.

Bentley Exterior Accent Colours Extend Palette Beyond 46 Billion Possibilities https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=281896 Thu, 24 Apr 2025 17:05:58 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=281896 If you thought your exterior accent colours options for customising a Bentley were already endless, think again.

The British marque has decided to dial up the bespoke game even further, unveiling an exquisite new palette of exterior accent colours that multiply personalisation possibilities to a staggering 46 billion combinations.

Choosing the perfect colour for your Bentley has always been akin to selecting a finely tailored suit or the perfect bottle of wine. Now, with seven fresh accent colours added to its extensive spectrum, the luxury automaker is ensuring your Bentley is as unique as your fingerprint.

Imagine a Flying Spur or a Continental GT, already resplendent in its choice hue, now accented with delicate but distinct strokes of vibrant colour that highlight the lines, shapes, and curves sculpted by Bentley’s master artisans.

These new hues, spanning everything from dazzling Cyan to sophisticated Mandarin, can now adorn key exterior elements such as the lower front bumper, side skirts, rear diffuser, and mirror caps, adding visual depth and dynamism to these rolling masterpieces.

But how does Bentley arrive at 46 billion combinations? Well, with each model offering myriad ways to blend exterior colours, accents, finishes, and textures, coupled with Bentley’s bespoke personalisation service, the permutations grow exponentially.

To put that number into perspective, if you were to pick a different colour combination every second, you’d still be choosing new variations well into the next millennium.

Bentley’s attention to detail and pursuit of perfection mean that every vehicle that leaves Crewe is nothing short of automotive artistry. These new accent options don’t merely expand the aesthetic repertoire; they also embody Bentley’s commitment to customer individuality and bespoke luxury.

With 46 billion possible Bentley Exterior Accent Colours combinations now available, the brand invites its customers not just to choose a car but to compose a symphony on wheels.

Bentley Launches New High-Performance Hybrid Range https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=281784 Tue, 15 Apr 2025 11:05:29 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=281784 Bentley has just refreshed their Continental GT and Flying Spur line-ups for 2025.

Don’t expect radical reboots or spaceship aesthetics. Bentley knows its clientele, so instead of chasing fads, the latest Continental GT and Flying Spur models double down on what makes the brand iconic.

The Continental GT looks like it’s been on a tailored diet; sleeker, tauter, with cleaner lines that speak of wind tunnel sessions and Savile Row finesse.

The Flying Spur, on the other hand, continues to be the road-going equivalent of a five-star suite: elegant, stately, and with enough presence to make lesser limousines bow out quietly.

Bentley’s range of Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible, and Flying Spur models has now doubled with the addition of a second V8 plug-in hybrid option, dubbed the High Performance Hybrid, with an output of 680 PS and 930 Nm. This engine is offered across all body styles in a choice of new core or new Azure variants.

Though the Ultra Performance Hybrid of the Speed remains the most extreme powertrain in Bentley’s range, it is significant that the new High Performance Hybrid outperforms the previous generation’s W12 Speed powertrain on all power, torque, and performance parameters, whilst also being capable of up to 80 km in pure electric mode.

What’s new is Bentley’s “Advanced Chassis System”, now standard across the range. That includes Bentley Dynamic Ride, a 48V active anti-roll control system that keeps things flat. Couple that with all-wheel steering and torque vectoring, and you’ve got a grand tourer that’s surprisingly nimble for its size.

And yet, it never loses that hallmark waft; the effortless surge of torque, the hushed cabin silence, the slight growl that says, “Yes, I’ve arrived.”

Inside, it’s a familiar symphony of leather, metal, and wood veneers, now paired with Bentley’s latest infotainment suite. You get crisp displays, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a fully digital driver’s cluster that still manages to feel analogue in its charm.

What’s perhaps most impressive is that Bentley’s retained physical controls for most essential functions. There are new customisation options too. Want open-pore Koa wood or deep pile overmats made from sustainable wool? You got it.

As Chris Craft, Member of the Board for Sales and Marketing at Bentley Motors, aptly puts it: “This new range encapsulates our vision of luxury performance for the future.”

In a world where many premium brands are trying to be everything to everyone, Bentley doubles down on being quintessentially Bentley. Quiet confidence, timeless craftsmanship, and the kind of performance that feels less like a sprint and more like a statement.

Bentley Continental GT 2025 Review https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=281665 Wed, 09 Apr 2025 15:46:54 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=281665 Since its debut in 2004, the Bentley Continental GT has been the rolling embodiment of comfort and prestige.

Luxurious, meticulously crafted, and effortlessly capable of making any occasion feel special, it’s no wonder this grand tourer has aged gracefully.

But Bentley has never stopped refining this British icon. And now, in its latest iteration, things have taken a rather electrifying turn.

New heart, new soul?

Bentley Continental GT V8 engine

The headline here, of course, is the ‘demise’ of Bentley’s venerable W12 engine. The smooth, sonorous behemoth is no more, and in its place sits an all-new twin-turbocharged V8 paired with a potent electric motor.

Now, before traditionalists start waving their walking sticks, consider this: Bentley hasn’t simply swapped engines for economy’s sake; it has re-engineered the Continental GT to become the most powerful road-going Bentley ever produced.

Bentley Continental GT rims

Together, they deliver a monstrous 771bhp and an equally impressive 1,000Nm of torque. That’s enough grunt to launch this two-and-a-half tonne beast from standstill to 100km/h in just 3.2 seconds, akin to strapping rockets to your favourite Chesterfield sofa.

But it’s not merely raw power that’s noteworthy. Bentley’s engineers have been hard at work beneath the skin, fitting sophisticated chassis wizardry such as four-wheel steering, active anti-roll bars, and adaptive dampers, all in a bid to transform this luxury cruiser into a genuinely athletic GT.

Bentley Continental GT

And the results are striking. Gone is the nose-heavy feel of previous generations. With the hybrid’s batteries tucked neatly into the rear, the weight distribution now favours the back wheels slightly (a near-perfect 49:51 split). The car feels remarkably balanced, especially through corners, pivoting gracefully rather than reluctantly lumbering through bends like its predecessors.

Sure, it still tips the scales at over two tonnes, and you’ll never mistake it for a nimble sports coupe, but the Continental GT now dances rather elegantly for its size, showcasing Bentley’s impressive sleight-of-hand engineering.

With a 25.9kWh battery (22.0kWh usable), Bentley claims up to around 80 kilometres of pure electric driving. It’s a generous figure, though in typical city conditions, expect less. Still, it’s sufficient to handle daily commutes without waking the petrol engine.

Charging, meanwhile, is capped at 11kW AC, meaning a full charge at home takes just over two hours.

While Bentley proudly touts its incredibly low emissions (29g/km of CO2), let’s not kid ourselves here; once the petrol engine kicks in, you’ll feel every ounce of the car’s substantial mass. Environmental credentials aside, though, the hybrid powertrain blends seamlessly between electric serenity and roaring V8 performance.

Refined Cruising

Bentley Continental GT

Where the Continental GT truly shines is its exceptional refinement. Even at highway speeds, cabin noise remains blissfully hushed, allowing for easy conversations or simply the appreciation of Bentley’s superb audio system.

Adaptive suspension absorbs Singapore’s urban potholes and expressway expansion joints with effortless grace; comfort mode genuinely feels like gliding on a cloud.

Bentley Continental GT cabin

Switching to sportier settings sharpens everything up impressively, though the Continental remains more of an indulgent cruiser than a razor-sharp sports car. It will devour highway miles with consummate ease, but it’s happiest at a pace that allows you to savour its luxurious refinement rather than attacking every apex.

It’s a shame there are currently no plans to bring in the new GTC alongside the coupe. The car was genuinely built for you to savour an open-top lifestyle.

Design evolution, not revolution

After nearly two decades, Bentley has finally ditched its signature twin-headlamp look for a sleeker, single-lamp design. It might seem minor, but this tweak has made the GT look wider and more purposeful.

Bentley Continental GT

Elsewhere, Bentley sensibly retained most of the original bodywork, giving the Continental GT an evolutionary rather than revolutionary appearance.

It’s a restrained update, but when your starting point was already one of the most beautiful grand tourers on the road, restraint is commendable rather than cautious.

A first-class lounge on wheels

Bentley Continental GT cabin

Step inside, and it remains unmistakably Bentley – luxurious, sumptuous, and effortlessly sophisticated. Every surface you touch feels like money well spent, from the softest leather upholstery and finely polished wood veneers to the metallic switchgear that clicks with a reassuring solidity.

The rotating Toblerone-style infotainment display remains, allowing you to alternate between a high-tech touchscreen and a classic analogue dial arrangement.

Call me old-fashioned, but there’s something genuinely satisfying about watching this elegant mechanism spin around, transforming the cabin’s ambience at the simple touch of a button.

Rear-seat practicality isn’t brilliant; this is more of a luxurious 2+2 rather than a genuine four-seater. But honestly, how often do Continental GT buyers concern themselves with the practicality of ferrying adults in the back?

Bentley Continental GT

Boot space, on the other hand, has taken a hit thanks to the placement of the battery pack, down from 358 litres to just 260 litres.

You might not be loading your entire family’s luggage, but for a leisurely weekend getaway, it’ll manage just fine.

Better than ever, in almost every way

Bentley Continental GT

Losing the W12 might seem like Bentley has parted ways with part of its heritage, but the reality is that the new hybrid V8 powertrain feels fresher, more responsive, and more befitting of Bentley’s forward-looking luxury ethos.

The Continental GT remains the benchmark for grand tourers, offering supreme comfort, remarkable sophistication, and now, genuine performance agility.

Is it the most thrilling GT you can buy? Perhaps not. Cars like the Aston Martin DB12 or Ferrari Roma offer more visceral excitement. But if your idea of automotive bliss involves covering vast distances in peerless luxury, combined with seamless, effortless power delivery, few cars on earth can rival this Bentley.

New Bentley Continental GT Speed Arrives In Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=279192 Wed, 27 Nov 2024 16:25:23 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=279192 The Bentley Continental GT Speed has made its much-anticipated return to Singapore.

Showcased at the exclusive W Residences’ Marina View Gallery, this fourth-generation model is the first Continental GT Speed to feature a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, pushing the envelope of performance and sustainability.

At first glance, the new Continental GT Speed retains the striking silhouette that has become its hallmark. The muscular rear haunches, inspired by the classic R-Type Continental, remain firmly in place.

However, there are subtle yet significant updates. Gone are the iconic twin headlamps, marking this as the first mainstream Bentley with single headlamps since the 1950s.

These new headlamps feature an innovative crystal-cut diamond effect, framed by sleek “eyebrows.” The matrix LED system boasts 120 individually controlled LEDs, and Bentley describes the GT’s design as resembling a “tiger at rest”; poised, muscular, and exuding quiet determination.

At the rear, the car forgoes a retractable spoiler thanks to an aerodynamically shaped boot lid. The three-dimensional diamond-patterned tail lamps stretch wide, creating a mesmerising molten-lava effect when illuminated.

The interior design focuses on creating a “cocooning” effect, with sculpted quilting and fading perforations accentuating the luxurious atmosphere.

For those seeking ultimate comfort, the optional Wellness Seating promises to reduce fatigue during long journeys.

The personalisation options are practically endless. With Bentley’s bespoke division, Mulliner, clients can tailor their interiors with unique leather hues, intricate stitching, and exclusive materials.

The audio experience is equally customisable, with three options ranging from a 650-watt, 10-speaker standard system to an audiophile-grade Naim system with 18 speakers and eight distinct sound modes.

To elevate the experience further, the cabin features a 30-colour ambient lighting system that highlights the contours of the seats and doors, enhancing the enveloping design.

Under the bonnet lies a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre cross-plane V8, delivering a robust 592bhp and 800Nm of torque. But what truly sets this GT Speed apart is its hybrid system; a 187bhp electric motor paired with a 25.9kWh battery.

Combined, the system produces 771bhp and 1,000Nm of torque. Power is seamlessly delivered to all four wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

The numbers are staggering: a 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 335km/h.

For those moments of serenity, the GT Speed offers an 80km range on electric power alone. Charging is straightforward too; an 11kW charger tops up the battery in 2.75 hours.

Bentley’s Performance Active Chassis ensures the Continental GT Speed handles with grace and precision. Equipped with all-wheel drive, torque vectoring, and an electronic limited-slip differential, the car is as agile as it is powerful.

Dual-valve dampers and dual-chamber air springs provide a fine balance between sporty responsiveness and refined comfort.

The suspension’s advanced ECU independently adjusts compression and rebound damping, delivering a smooth yet engaging ride.

Bentley’s official agent, Wearnes Automotive, has already secured a handful of orders for the new Continental GT Speed.

Prices start at $1,538,000 before COE, options, or insurance. Fully loaded, the car is expected to cost around $1.9 million.

Bentley Becomes First Car Manufacturer To Join Leather Naturally For Responsibly-sourced Leather https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=277014 Thu, 29 Aug 2024 09:19:46 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=277014 Bentley Motors has taken a significant step in its journey towards sustainability by becoming the first automotive member of Leather Naturally.

Leather Naturally is an international NGO that champions the use of certified, responsibly sourced leather. This partnership reinforces Bentley’s commitment to its Beyond100 strategy.

Leather Naturally is dedicated to promoting the use of leather which is a natural by-product of a responsible circular economy, turning what might have been waste into a durable, luxurious material.

This move follows Bentley’s earlier milestone in 2021 when the brand became the first automotive member of the Leather Working Group. This was a key initiative in promoting responsible business practices and ensuring environmental compliance within the leather industry.

Building on this, Bentley introduced its first sustainable leather option, crafted using a tanning process that repurposes olive mill wastewater, a by-product of the olive oil industry. This innovative process is free from harmful heavy metals, minerals, and aldehydes.

Marc Stang, Bentley’s Technical Expert in Leather and Colour Development, expressed the brand’s long-standing connection to leather: “Leather is a timeless, luxury material that has always epitomised the elegance, durability, and quality of a hand-crafted Bentley interior. It has a rich history in our cars and has always stood the test of time.”

“The application of the latest sustainable leathers allows an even wider variety of choice for our customers and further supports our industry-leading Beyond100 strategy.” he adds.

Debbie Burton, Chair of Leather Naturally, also shared her enthusiasm for the partnership: “Leather Naturally is delighted to welcome Bentley as a member. As a brand synonymous with both luxury and leather, this partnership underlines its commitment to furthering sustainability and ongoing improvement through its Beyond100 vision.”

Leather Naturally’s global membership spans various industries, focusing on leathers made from hides that are by-products of the food industry.

Through educational and promotional efforts, the NGO supports a circular economy, ensuring that these materials are transformed into something of lasting value rather than discarded as waste.

New 2025 Bentley Continental GT Revealed https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=275896 Thu, 04 Jul 2024 13:52:08 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=275896 The new Bentley Continental drops the famed W12 engine for a new 771bhp V8 plug-in hybrid drivetrain.

Bentley has revealed its new Continental GT, a grand tourer that ditches the famed W12 and V8 engines for a groundbreaking plug-in hybrid drivetrain. Dubbed the ‘Ultra Performance Hybrid,’ this new powertrain is nothing short of impressive.

Under the bonnet, you’ll find a 4.0-litre V8 engine paired with a 187bhp electric motor, together delivering 771bhp and 1,000Nm of torque. For context, Bentley’s outgoing W12 engine offered up to 650bhp and 900Nm of torque.

This hybrid setup propels the Continental GT from 0 to 100km/h in 3.1 seconds, with a top speed of 335km/h. The power is managed by an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and an electronic limited-slip differential.

The Continental GT’s 25.9kWh battery, strategically placed behind the rear axle, not only aids in achieving a balanced 49:51 weight distribution but also provides an impressive 81km of electric-only range, reaching speeds of up to 140km/h. Charging the battery is efficient too, with a maximum capacity of 11kW.

On the road, Bentley promises enhanced performance, handling, and comfort thanks to a new dual-valve damper system and dual-chamber air springs.

Visually, the new Continental GT embraces a cleaner, more muscular design.

Gone are the quad-headlights, a feature absent from a non-coach-built Bentley since the S2. In their place, new headlamps with a horizontal element and a deep crystal cut diamond effect at the top provide a more determined front end.

These Matrix LED units utilize 120 separate LEDs, ensuring a clear and natural reading of the road. The rear of the car sports redesigned taillights, a new bumper, and an updated boot lid, all contributing to a cohesive and refined look.

Step inside, and you’re greeted by 20-way adjustable seats that can now include posture adjustment and auto climate features, designed to minimize fatigue on long drives.

Bentley’s signature Rotating Display remains a highlight, offering a choice between a 12.3-inch high-definition touchscreen, three elegant analogue dials, or an unbroken panel of handcrafted veneer.

Audiophiles are well-catered for with three audio systems to choose from. The standard setup includes 10 speakers delivering 650W. For those wanting more, a Bang & Olufsen 1,500W system with 16 speakers and illuminated grilles is available.

For the ultimate sound experience, the Naim 2,200W system boasts 18 speakers, Active Bass Transducers in the front seats, and eight sound modes.

As a first, the new Continental GT is being launched alongside the open-top GTC. This convertible features a seven-bow fabric roof available in seven exterior colours (including a chic tweed option), deployable in 19 seconds at speeds up to 48km/h.

Both the coupe and convertible models will be handcrafted at Bentley’s renowned factory in Crewe, U.K., with production and deliveries slated to begin in the third quarter of 2024.

Bentley Environmental Foundation Is One Year Old https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=275513 Thu, 20 Jun 2024 04:10:32 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=275513 Three new partnerships were announced by Bentley Environmental Foundation in conjunction with its first-anniversary celebration.

The Bentley Environmental Foundation celebrated its first anniversary with the announcement of three new partnerships.

The latest group of organisations, to join the Foundation, namely Hubbub, Forum for the Future and Renewable World, takes the total number of partners to ten in just 12 months, further reflecting Bentley’s ongoing ambitions to help preserve and regenerate the planet for future generations.

UK-based charity Hubbub brings businesses, organisations, local authorities and community groups together to create environmental campaigns. Last year, the award-winning charity delivered 49 projects, encouraging over six million people to think differently about environmental issues.

With support from the Foundation, Hubbub plans to bring people closer to nature by connecting community-led green spaces across the UK, with work starting this summer.

Forum for the Future is a leading international non-profit that, for the last 28 years, has been working to accelerate the shift towards a just and regenerative future. Through a series of partnerships with governments, businesses and local groups, Forum has focused attention on how we produce, consume and think about our food and energy.

The Foundation will support a new phase of the project, developing and sharing revised guidance on how businesses can drive lasting change along with real-world examples of trailblazing businesses already putting theory into practice.

Renewable World enables people living in poverty to transform their lives by improving their access to clean energy, empowering them to develop sustainable and resilient livelihoods, and mitigating the impact of climate change.

The Foundation will be supporting The CLASS Project in western Nepal’s Banke National Park, which will pilot clean energy approaches to improve livelihoods, conservation, safety and sustainability.

Part of the luxury marque’s industry-leading Beyond100 strategy, the Bentley Environmental Foundation highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting sustainability initiatives on a global scale. In its first 12 months, the Foundation’s existing seven partners have already achieved a number of key milestones.

Beyond the impact of philanthropy alone, the Bentley Environmental Foundation has enjoyed further achievements. Alumni of the Biomimicry Institute’s Ray of Hope Prize pitched to Bentley’s own design department, inspiring its internal team to consider the further integration and application of nature-inspired projects.

A ‘Let’s Talk Sustainability’ forum was created to discuss sustainability topics, hosted by Bentley’s expert partners for more than 4,000 colleagues in Crewe.

Meanwhile, volunteering opportunities for Bentley colleagues have been hosted throughout the year, with integrated content from Foundation partners also added to the company’s eAcademy curriculum.

Bentley also continues to inspire and educate early career colleagues by providing placements via the Foundation, who have recently become proud members of the Environmental Funders Network and Catalyst 2030.

The New Bentley Continental GT Is Coming Soon https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=274816 Mon, 20 May 2024 23:17:00 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=274816 The new fourth-generation Bentley Continental GT is to be unveiled in June, and it will be the first car built around Bentley’s new Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain.

June is set to mark a new chapter in Bentley’s storied 105-year saga with the debut of the fourth-generation Continental GT, introducing the world to Bentley’s pioneering Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain.

The new car promises an exhilarating 771hp and 1000Nm of torque, paired with an electric-only range of 80 km and commendably low CO2 emissions (under 50 g/km, WLTP). It heralds Bentley’s most dynamic and eco-friendly road car yet, marrying its illustrious heritage of handcrafted luxury with cutting-edge technology and sustainable mobility.

Active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring, four-wheel steering, an electronic Limited Slip Differential, and 48V electric active anti-roll control, all of which are accompanied by advanced dual-valve dampers. These are just some of the proposed updates.

Reflecting on the model’s legacy, the Continental GT was first introduced in 2002 and became the cornerstone of Bentley’s modern rebirth. It sparked a sales revolution, increasing Bentley’s output from about 1,000 cars annually to over 10,000 within four years.

Each iteration has carried forward the legacy of the 1952 R-Type Continental by embodying the essence of a luxury Grand Tourer designed for long-distance comfort and performance.

Bentley’s design team has drawn from this rich heritage to shape a vehicle that respects its lineage while looking firmly to the future. The new model maintains the iconic power line, haunch, and sloping roofline of its forebears, ensuring it is recognizably a Continental at first glance but revolutionised to meet contemporary aesthetic and performance standards.

With over 20 years of heritage behind it, the Continental GT has not only broken speed records but has become a mainstay in luxury automotive, embodying the grand touring experience.

Bentley Will Be Retiring Its Current-generation V8 https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=274713 Fri, 17 May 2024 01:30:00 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=274713 We are not saying goodbye to the Bentley V8 just yet, but they’ll return as hybrid powertrains.

Today marks the end of an era for Bentley Motors in the Asia Pacific region, as they bid farewell to the venerable 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that has been the beating heart of the Continental GT, Continental GTC, and Flying Spur model lines.

The shift is part of Bentley’s ambitious Beyond100 strategy, steering towards a future where every model line will feature a hybrid variant by 2024.

The journey towards electrification reflects a rising demand for more sustainable luxury vehicles, as seen with the popularity of the Bentayga and Flying Spur Hybrid models.

Introduced back in 2012, the 4.0-litre V8 engine quickly became synonymous with Bentley’s blend of luxury and performance, powering more than 53,000 vehicles across the Continental and Flying Spur ranges.

Crafted meticulously by hand in Bentley’s Crewe headquarters, each V8 engine improved efficiency and reduced emissions compared to its predecessors.

Bentley Continental

Today’s V8s boast a robust 542 bhp and a hefty 770 Nm of torque, available from as low as 2,000 rpm, sustaining this output to 4,500 rpm.

While the V8 will continue to roar within the Bentayga lineup, the final V8-powered Continental GT, GTC, and Flying Spur models are making their last bow in markets including Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

Bentley Continental

With production wrapping up and final deliveries scheduled for June, this transition honours a legacy of performance that has defined the brand for nearly a decade.
