This is the boldest, most powerful Rolls-Royce in history, engineered for those who refuse to conform.

This Spectre effortlessly delivers 659hp (485 kW) and 1,075Nm of torque, making it the most powerful production Rolls-Royce ever.

While traditional Rolls-Royce models exude effortless serenity, Black Badge Spectre cranks up the intensity. The engineers behind this creation had one job: to amplify the raw character of the vehicle while ensuring it still drives with the brand’s signature smoothness.

Rolls-Royce studied hundreds of thousands of miles of anonymised client driving data to fine-tune the Black Badge experience.

If there’s one thing Rolls-Royce understands, it’s how to make power feel effortless. That ethos is alive and well in Infinity Mode, an all-new feature that takes performance to an entirely new level.

With a press of the Infinity button on the steering wheel, the car’s full 659hp is unleashed, instantly sharpening the throttle response. The dashboard even lights up in vibrant hues, a visual cue that things are about to get very interesting.

Inspired by the legendary Rolls-Royce Merlin engine from World War II fighter planes, Spirited Mode delivers an even more exhilarating driving experience. By simultaneously pressing the brake and throttle, the system prepares for an explosive launch. Releasing the brake activates instant torque delivery, propelling Black Badge Spectre in the century sprint in just 4.1 seconds.

All this power would mean nothing without control. That’s why Rolls-Royce engineers have retuned the chassis dynamics for an even more engaging drive. The steering is weightier, body roll is reduced, and damping has been adjusted to keep the ride planted without compromising that legendary Magic Carpet Ride sensation.

And even if you don’t prefer all of the driving benefits, from the moment you set eyes on Black Badge Spectre, you know it’s something special. The Vapour Violet paint, inspired by the neon glow of 1980s and 1990s club culture, is extremely striking.

Paired with a contrasting Iced Black bonnet, it gives the coupé an unmistakably assertive stance. If Vapour Violet isn’t quite your style, Rolls-Royce offers 44,000 custom colours or the option to create an entirely bespoke shade.

For the first time, clients can also opt for a waft coachline, a subtle yet striking accent that runs along the lower half of the car, adding to its dynamic presence. New 23-inch five-spoke forged aluminium wheels, available in either a polished or full-black finish, complete the look.

Rolls-Royce has taken ambient lighting to another level with the Illuminated Pantheon Grille. Intersingly, clients can now customise the colour of the grille’s backplate, choosing from Tailored Purple, Charles Blue, Chartreuse, or Forge Yellow. The illuminated theme continues inside, with Illuminated Black Badge Treadplates available in ten vibrant shades.

Inside the cabin, the dashboard is a work of art. Inspired by the Spirit of Ecstasy, the Illuminated Fascia now features over 5,500 stars, arranged in an abstract design that incorporates the Black Badge infinity symbol. It’s a nod to pioneers of speed, a visual tribute to those who push boundaries.

Meanwhile, the Technical Fibre interior trim is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Using carbon fibre and fine metal threads, artisans have created a three-dimensional diamond pattern, sealed under six layers of lacquer and polished to absolute perfection.

With record-breaking power, exhilarating performance, and an aesthetic that redefines luxury, Black Badge Spectre is Rolls-Royce at its most audacious.

And for those daring enough to take the wheel, it promises a driving experience like no other.

Rolls-Royce Debuts Black Badge Ghost Series II https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=277954 Fri, 11 Oct 2024 10:21:22 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=277954 Hot off the press with the Ghost Series II, Rolls-Royce has also introduced the Black Badge Ghost Series II.

Billed as a “daring and powerful new expression” of the Black Badge lineage, it’s the chaotic, more rebellious side of Rolls-Royce.

Rolls-Royce Badge Ghost Series II

The Black Badge Ghost Series II is meant to be the most agile, driver-focused, and technical of its breed, but it’s also a lesson in the art of subtle drama. Blacked-out bits are done tastefully here, and the car still looks elegant without phasing into garish territory.

Under the bonnet, this 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 has been cranked up a notch. 29bhp and 50Nm of extra power compared to the standard Ghost Series II.

And for those moments when you’re feeling a little extra, there’s a ‘Low’ button on the gear selection stalk that lets you unleash the full suite of Black Badge technologies. Press the throttle down to 90%, and you’ll feel a 50% increase in gearshift speeds while being treated to a more throaty, rebellious exhaust note.

Rolls-Royce Badge Ghost Series II

To manage all that oomph, the Ghost is fitted with an all-wheel-drive, all-wheel-steering chassis. The Black Badge Planar Suspension system features a unique Upper Wishbone Damper unit.

What that means in layman’s terms is that the car glides gracefully; Rolls-Royce’s signature “magic carpet ride” is still intact, but with newfound agility that’s primed for those who want a little more from their drive.

The cabin has its own Black Badge touches too. Housing a black chrome Spirit of Ecstasy figurine alongside an analogue timepiece, the Clock Cabinet gets extra sophistication.

This sits next to the Central Information Display, which integrates Rolls-Royce’s new SPIRIT operating system.

As with all Black Badge models, this Ghost is as much about performance as it is about opulence. The interior wraps you in a cocoon of understated luxury, while small details like the black chrome finishes and plush materials remind you that you’re not just in any Rolls-Royce.

If you’re looking to make a bold statement, the Rolls-Royce Badge Ghost Series II is the car for you.

Rolls-Royce Presents Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis Private Collection https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=268455 Wed, 18 Oct 2023 07:05:07 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=268455 Only 25 lucky owners will get their hands on the solar eclipse-inspired Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis.

Total solar eclipses have long been events rich with stories from oral traditions behind them. From a dragon or snake in the sky eating the Sun to angry quarrelling Gods inflicting damage on each other, the occasion where Sol is fully obscured by Luna leaving a ring of fire visible to those in the umbra is certainly an experience of a lifetime.

And so, Rolls-Royce has drawn inspiration from the spectacle, mystery and drama of a total solar eclipse to herald the coming of the equally rare Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis Private Collection. Limited to just 25 units worldwide, the launch of these highly bespoke vehicles coincided with the annular solar eclipse that was visible in parts of the Western Hemisphere on 14 October.

“With Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis, we draw inspiration from a total solar eclipse: a seldom-seen and spellbinding phenomenon that reflects the rarity and beauty of Rolls-Royce Private Collections.”

“In capturing the magic of this celestial alignment, our Bespoke Collective of designers, engineers and craftspeople have once again elevated contemporary craftsmanship, with a landmark series of exquisite details that project the marque’s culture of ambition and excellence.”

“We are exceptionally proud to present these motor cars to 25 of our most significant clients around the world – it is these individuals who inspire greatness within our brand, and who drive us to create ever more bold and richly detailed expressions of modern luxury,” said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

The outside of the Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis is bathed in an ethereal hue called Golden Darkness, which takes after the light that’s cast during a total solar eclipse. This bespoke finish incorporates powdered copper pigment, which appears darker until it catches the light when it produces a rich and dramatic iridescence.

Mandarin adorns the inserts below the Pantheon Grille and brake callipers, reminiscent of the intense pulses of sunlight witnessed as the eclipse progresses.

Mandarin is also used for the hand-painted coachline, which is supposed to represent the transition from sunlight to darkness as Chandra approaches to block Surya.

On the inside, the Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis features a fully Bespoke Starlight Headliner with a solar eclipse-mimicking special animation. As the coach doors close and the engine is started, the ‘stars’ in the Starlight Headliner darken and a mesmerising sequence begins, replicating the totality of the solar eclipse, when the dark silhouette of the Moon completely obscures the bright light of the Sun.

A circle of 940 ‘stars’ is formed, representing the bright corona of light around the lunar silhouette. This is surrounded by a further 192 illuminating ‘stars’, recreating the otherworldly spectacle of stars visible in the sky during daylight, which occurs only during a total solar eclipse.

The animation remains visible for precisely seven minutes and 31 seconds, which is the longest possible duration of a total solar eclipse. Once this time has elapsed, the full constellation of stars in the night sky is restored.

Needless to say, this highly technical feature required Rolls-Royce to spend a year of painstaking development, in which the Bespoke Collective produced three complete prototypes to perfect the design and sequencing of the ‘stars’.

It’s not just the headliner that gets the eclipse treatment, but the illuminated fascia and “diamond ring” timepiece too.

The illuminated fascia of the Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis is adorned with 1,846 laser-etched ‘stars’ in a symbolic timeline of a total eclipse. A single Bespoke designer had sole responsibility for adjusting the individual size and position of each ‘star’ to create the mesmeric effect; a delicate and exacting process that took over 100 hours to complete.

The composition culminates in a Bespoke timepiece, which incorporates a brilliant-cut 0.5-carat diamond, recalling the “Diamond Ring” effect, when a single, dazzling point of light can be seen on Selene’s outline in the split seconds just before and immediately after it obscures Helios. This also represents the first time in Rolls-Royce’s history that a gemstone has been integrated into the clock’s bezel.

The Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis also features what Rolls-Royce calls a “Panoramic Sunset Interior.” At the totality of a solar eclipse, there is a moment when a golden twilight surrounds those viewing the eclipse, giving the illusion of a 360-degree sunset. The beauty of this rarely observed phenomenon is captured in bi-coloured seats with a unique perforated artwork, made of over 200,000 individual perforations.

The bold Mandarin leather is tinted in a black shade that is then perforated to reveal the brighter contrasting colour beneath, creating a visual effect with extraordinary depth and subtlety.

Bespoke finishing touches include illuminated treadplates, umbrellas with Mandarin piping concealed in the coach doors, and a unique indoor motor car cover bearing the Private Collection’s wordmark.

If total solar eclipses catch your fancy and you’re thinking of springing for one, well, you can’t. Rolls-Royce says all 25 examples of the Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis Private Collection have been allocated to clients around the world.
