The journey opened at BMW Welt and the BMW Museum. Participants were personally welcomed by Ms Ritu Chandy (Senior Vice President) and Mr Sebastian Ahlers (Regional Area Manager, BMW Group, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa).

A first look at the Neue Klasse iX3

The customers were also provided an up-close encounter with the fully electric BMW iX3, the first model of the revolutionary Neue Klasse.

Salzburgring shakedown

The highlight of the trip was a shakedown at the 4.2-kilometre Salzburgring. Behind the wheel of the BMW M4 Competition, 13 drivers put precision to the test: timed slalom runs, double-lane changes, and controlled drifts. Each participant left not only faster but sharper, graduating with a BMW M Race Track Training certificate as proof.

Mr Tan added, “When someone chooses BMW, it is often because they have a deep appreciation for its precision, power, and sheer driving pleasure. With the latest 5 Series being unveiled recently, we were secretly expecting BMW M to come along not too long thereafter with their hotted up M5. And BOY didn’t they disappoint, because word from the good folks at M is that there will be an M5 Touring alongside its sedan sibling, both of which are under development.

Just like its sedan sibling, the M5 Touring will feature a completely new partially electrified drivetrain to meet emissions compliance. This is, of course, a stepping stone toward complete electrification. “We are now also installing a hybrid drive system with typical M performance in other high-performance cars,” says Dirk Häcker, Head of Development at BMW M GmbH.

This will represent the third M5 Touring since the M5 was first conceived. 1992 saw the first station-wagon or estate version, based on the second-generation M5 codenamed E34. 2007 saw the E61 as the second. We’ll soon find out if this current generation will be codenamed G60 or G61.

Testing of the first prototypes of the new BMW M5 Touring said is to commence in the next few days in urban traffic as well as on country roads and motorways around Munich and at the BMW M GmbH headquarters in Garching. And, for sure, testing will also be conducted on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife to fine tune its performance and handling.

The M Club of Singapore, Singapore’s leading owner’s club for BMW M and M Performance vehicles, has recently welcomed Eurokars Auto as a new 2023 Platinum Sponsor.

Enacted in 2010, the owners club is currently the only local BMW M car club recognised and supported by both Performance Motors and Eurokars Auto.

The club actively organises a wide variety of gatherings, including regular drive events both in Singapore and up north. Owners also enjoy exclusive access to events and corporate deals provided by the yearly Platinum, Gold, and Silver sponsors.

Club members also occasionally receive invitations to special events, including private viewings of the latest BMW M vehicles. The partnership with Eurokars will allow owners to know more about the dealer, as well as the opportunity to learn more about Eurokars Auto’s services, including a visit to the Eurokars Group Integrated Aftersales Facility.

Eurokars Auto has already supported a few events for the club this year. These include M Club’s Dinner and Dance 2023 cum Annual General Meeting, Breakfast drive to Malacca which facilitated over 50 cars, and even a 4D3N Track Night and Holiday Drive for 50 cars.

The inauguration was commemorated by Mr Ong Pang Yang, President of the M Club of Singapore, and Mr Jason Lim, Managing Director of Eurokars Auto Private Limited.
