Held on 22 February 2025 at ARFC Woodleigh, the BYD Football Fiesta saw an electrifying mix of footballing greats and eager participants.

Football fans were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience as Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, along with Singapore’s own football icons Fandi Ahmad and V. Sundramoorthy, graced the event.

Adding to the spectacle were other former national players, who joined in the festivities, creating an unforgettable experience for attendees.

The event featured a friendly football tournament, where participants had the chance to showcase their skills on the pitch, a meet-and-greet session with the footballing legends, and a special dinner experience during the highly anticipated Everton vs. Manchester United match.

More than just a football tournament, the event showcased the power of sports to unite people for a greater cause, bringing together BYD owners, corporate partners, and football enthusiasts in a shared commitment to raising awareness for breast cancer.

The impressive sum of $880,938 was raised through BYD Singapore’s pledge of $1,000 for every BYD or DENZA D9 sold between 6 February and 6 March 2025, along with entry fees from tournament participants and additional contributions from supporting partners.

Every dollar will go towards BCF’s mission, funding public education initiatives, patient support programmes, and advocacy efforts aimed at reducing the impact of breast cancer in Singapore.

“We are deeply grateful for the incredible support from our community. The funds raised will go a long way in supporting those affected by breast cancer, and we are honoured to contribute to such an important cause. Events like these demonstrate the power of sports and community in bringing people together for a meaningful purpose.”

James Ng, Managing Director of BYD Singapore and the Philippines

“This event was more than just about football, it was about uniting people in support of a cause that impacts many lives. We appreciate everyone who played a role in making this initiative a success and look forward to continuing our commitment to community-driven efforts.”

Anthony Teo, Managing Director of Vantage Automotive

With events like these, BYD Singapore and its partners continue to drive change—both on and off the road.

The resounding success of the BYD Football Fiesta 2025 reinforces BYD Singapore’s unwavering dedication to champion its role as a force for good, hosting meaningful causes that enrich lives and foster a sense of collective responsibility.

Dementia Singapore Partners With Shell Singapore To Drive Awareness https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=279229 Fri, 29 Nov 2024 07:57:16 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=279229 Dementia Singapore and Shell Singapore have embarked on a noteworthy collaboration aimed at reshaping how society views and supports individuals with dementia.

Against the backdrop of an ageing population, this partnership seeks to bring awareness and resources to the forefront, with innovative approaches to community engagement.

The partnership spans over 40 Shell service stations island-wide, where visitors are greeted by video snippets and digital posters from Dementia Singapore’s latest campaign. The content focuses not only on dementia’s general challenges but also on the often-overlooked struggles of young-onset dementia.

With thousands passing through these stations daily, Shell Singapore leverages its extensive network to ensure that critical messages reach the heart of communities.

Jason Foo, CEO of Dementia Singapore, articulated the initiative’s impact:

“Partnering with a globally trusted brand like Shell Singapore amplifies our reach. These brief but meaningful moments at Shell stations present a unique opportunity to break down stigma and encourage greater inclusivity.”

Shell’s Senior Vice President for Mobility Asia, Tan Min Yih, echoed this sentiment, noting that the collaboration aims to foster compassion and dialogue about dementia within local communities.

Central to the partnership is the “Wash it Bright, Shine a Light” charity car wash initiative, held across 10 selected Shell service stations. Proceeds from these car washes are channelled to Dementia Singapore, bolstering its mission to provide resources and support for those affected by dementia.

The weekend’s highlight at Shell’s Tampines Avenue 2 service station saw Guest of Honour, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for Health, roll up his sleeves alongside corporate sponsors and local radio personalities from SPH Media.

The partnership extends into the community through Dementia Singapore’s “Back to the Heartlands” initiative. Featuring roadshows such as the “Our Getai” series, it engages senior citizens in mature estates, delivering much-needed information about dementia care.

Adding to the outreach is an exclusive promotion tied to the CARA app, a digital platform for dementia care. From 23 to 29 November, new CARA members receive a complimentary 12-month subscription to an SPH publication of their choice, reflecting the collaboration’s dual focus on awareness and empowerment.

“We aim to empower our community with knowledge, foster compassion, and ultimately create a society where persons with dementia and their families feel supported.” With over 10,000 members already benefiting from the CARA app, the organisation continues to innovate with initiatives that bridge gaps in awareness and care.

One-of-a-kind Bowmore ARC-52 To Be Auctioned For Charity At Sotheby’s https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=264276 Tue, 16 May 2023 18:27:15 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=264276 A unique and exclusive whisky collaboration between two iconic British brands, Aston Martin and Bowmore, has created the Bowmore ARC-52 ‘Mokume Edition’.

This one-of-a-kind collector’s item will be auctioned at Sotheby’s in London on 26 May 2023, with the proceeds going to The Bowmore Legacy fund.

The futuristic design of Aston Martin, along with Bowmore’s unfaltering attention to detail and craftsmanship, has created this unorthodox-looking 52-year-old single malt, presented in a carbon fibre decanter dubbed the ARC-52.

The carbon fibre elements of the decanter have been created to mirror the mokume texture and natural aesthetic, imitating the black rocks in the bay of Loch Indaal and the inside of the charred cask where the special 52-year-old whisky was aged. Gotta go all out with the packaging, right?

The vessel’s design incorporates the latest 3D printing and hand-crafted clay modelling,, resulting in a timelessly beautiful piece of art that is a true coming together of heritage and innovation. This masterpiece has been crafted from some of the oldest Bowmore vintages from the 1960s, an iconic era of Bowmore distilling.

The Bowmore ARC-52 Mokume Edition is a one-off collector’s item, available exclusively from Sotheby’s, with an estimate of £140,000-220,000 (SGD$175,000-275,000).

Proceeds from the auction will be donated to The Bowmore Legacy, a long-term, dedicated project to support the employability, training, and housing needs of Bowmore’s young people, enabling a range of vital outcomes from affordable and subsidised housing to key employment skills for young people with barriers to employment.

The winning bidder will have the opportunity to enjoy an experience at Bowmore Distillery and also get behind the wheel of the limited-edition Aston Martin DBX Bowmore Edition while on Islay. Or, you know, that person could buy their own DBX.
