The latest additions to the limited-edition Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, namely the Icons Motorcycle Collection and the limited-run Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection, were revealed, showcasing premium factory-direct custom paint and graphic treatments and paint application technology.

Both collections were displayed from 2-9 March during the run of Daytona Bike Week at the H-D Event Display Area at Daytona International Speedway and will be made available at authorized H-D dealers.

The Icons model is inspired by the look of the motorcycles ridden in the era of the upcoming film, The Bikeriders, which follows the rise of a midwestern motorcycle club, as seen through the lives of its members. The film is scheduled to be released theatrically in Summer 2024.

Hydra-Glide Revival Model

The 2024 Hydra-Glide Revival model, the fourth instalment in the H-D Icons Motorcycle Collection, celebrates the 75th anniversary of the 1949 introduction of the Hydra-Glide telescopic front suspension for H-D E and F models.

When Hydra-Glide equipped models were introduced, the saddle of a smooth-riding H-D FL motorcycle was an exciting way for many Americans to explore the country on the new network of Interstate highways.

Owners of the 2024 Hydra-Glide Revival model can trace their own route to freedom and adventure on a bike inspired by this classic era while enjoying all the comfort and features of a modern Harley.

The Icons Motorcycle Collection is an annual program for the limited release of a new model that offers a fresh interpretation of an iconic H-D motorcycle. A limited collection, each model is individually numbered and produced only once.

Global production of the Hydra-Glide Revival model will not exceed 1,750 units.

The Hydra-Glide Revival model is finished in custom Redline Red paint with a Birch White panel on fuel tank sides, the same design featured on 1956 models. Details include chrome “Harley-Davidson V” tank badges inspired by 1955-56 tank badges and “Hydra-Glide” script badges located on the front fender skirt.

The serialized “Hydra-Glide Revival” insert on the handlebar riser cap and Icons Motorcycle Collection graphic on the rear fender identify this limited-production model.

Additional styling features include instrument graphics inspired by those on the 1954-55 speedometer. The two-tone 21-inch (53.3 cm) high detachable windshield features a colour-matched lower portion in Redline Red.

The bike features a counter-balanced Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-Twin engine tuned with a Screamin’ Eagle High-Flow air cleaner to deliver power with authority. For the rider focused on performance, this engine accepts all applicable H-D Screamin’ Eagle Stage Upgrade kits.

The Softail chassis hides an adjustable mono-shock rear suspension below the seat for dynamic cornering capability and riding comfort while preserving a classic hardtail profile.

Electronic cruise control holds a steady speed for comfort on long rides. An LED headlamp and auxiliary lamps provide outstanding forward illumination. Standard Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) offers confident control in a variety of riding conditions.

Tobacco Fade Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection

Together the beat of rock ‘n roll and the syncopated rhythm of a V-Twin engine stir the souls of Harley riders. The 2024 Tobacco Fade Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection celebrates the burst of collective energy released by live music at the corner tavern, at a motorcycle rally, or on the live stage at the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival.

The Tobacco Fade paint and graphics scheme, inspired by the classic sunburst wood finish first seen on rock and roll guitars, bass, and drums of the 1960s, make this a special motorcycle for any music lover.

These limited-edition Harley-Davidson Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection models celebrate H-D riders and are inspired by their stories and legacies. This collection of H-D motorcycles is available in no more than 2,000 per model across a curated selection of three motorcycle models.

The Tobacco Fade paint treatment is applied by H-D using state-of-the-art precision paint tools designed to execute faded panel detailing. A rich caramel-coloured pinstripe accents the tone of the metallic gold panel floating just outside the sunburst fade.

The fuel tank medallion is inspired by the shape and grooves of a vinyl record, while a graphic on the front fender shaped like a guitar pick, inspired by rock band and instrument logos, speaks directly to the details in the tank medallion.

The Tobacco Fade Enthusiast Collection includes:

Low Rider ST

Strap down your bedroll and make a run for the border. The H-D Low Rider ST model is an American V-Twin sport-touring bike for the rider who digs clean-and-lean West Coast style and craves the outrageous performance of the Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin powertrain.

The Low Rider ST model connects these riders with a pure Harley-Davidson attitude. Mechanical features are identical to the 2024 Low Rider ST model.

Ultra Limited

Experience premium touring performance with zero compromises in a long-haul touring motorcycle. Classic-style batwing fairing, 4-speaker audio, and a Tour-Pak luggage carrier offer ultimate comfort for both rider and passenger. Mechanical features are identical to the 2024 Ultra Limited model.

Tri Glide Ultra

A long-haul touring trike that calls you to go the distance with all the torque, style, premium infotainment and cargo space three wheels can hold – it is the ultimate in two-up comfort for adventurers who show no signs of stopping. Mechanical features are identical to 2024 Tri Glide Ultra model.

New McLaren 750S Debuts in Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=267546 Fri, 15 Sep 2023 18:51:46 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=267546 The new McLaren 750S is the most powerful McLaren series production model to date, and its Southeast Asian debut happened right here on our sunny shores.

McLaren Singapore has just dropped an automotive bombshell right here in the heart of Mediapolis; Say hello to the new McLaren 750S.

Now, at first glance, you might think, “Hey, isn’t that the 720S?” Well, yes and no. While they do share some DNA, the 750S has undergone a serious transformation, both inside and out. It’s like the 720S went to the gym and came back as a bodybuilder with an attitude.

Let’s talk about the exterior first because that’s where the 750S makes its first impression. It’s got a lower nose, a longer front splitter, and air intakes that have gone on a diet.

The headlight surrounds? Well, those are customizable now. You can have them in body colour, carbon fibre, or tinted carbon fibre in whatever shade tickles your fancy. It’s like picking the icing for your supercar cake.

Under that sleek rear cover, you’ll find a 4.0-litre V8 that’s been working out. The result? A power boost from 710 bhp (or 720PS) to a jaw-dropping 740 bhp (750PS). Torque? It’s gone up too, from 770Nm to a whopping 800Nm. This thing is ready to pounce.

But numbers are just part of the story. The 750S is not just more powerful; it’s lighter too. It’s been hitting the gym, shedding pounds with thinner windscreen glass, carbon fibre bucket seats that weigh less than the standard ones, and a new instrument panel that’s dropped some weight too. Even the wheels are on a diet, saving a cool 13.8 kg.

But let’s not forget the fancy footwork. The 750S boasts a new Proactive Chassis Control III suspension system. It’s like having a built-in personal trainer for your car. The front track is wider, and the springs are softer in the front and stiffer in the rear.

The result? A car that’s not just faster but more comfortable and precise.

Inside, it’s a tech-lover’s dream. High-res displays, Apple CarPlay, and even an electrically adjustable steering column. And here’s the cherry on top – the McLaren Control Launcher. You can save your favourite car settings for powertrain, suspension, aerodynamics, and more, and recall them at the touch of a button.

It’s like having a butler for your driving preferences.

Now, I know what you’re thinking – what’s the damage to your wallet?

Well, the McLaren 750S Coupe starts at $1,398,000, and the 750S Spider at $1,548,000, and that’s before you dive into the world of options and COE. But here’s the kicker – at last count, there were 15 ‘expressions of interest.’

That tells you something, doesn’t it?

Toyota Debuts new Alphard and Vellfire https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=265009 Fri, 23 Jun 2023 11:54:46 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=265009 The ever-dominant MPV for Singapore is back with a new generation.

Toyota has recently revealed the new Alphard and Vellfire. At launch, these cars will only have petrol-only and hybrid drivetrains, although Toyota has stated that it will introduce a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option in the near future.

Both cars are now constructed using an optimised version of the TNGA-K platform, which claims to offer 50% increased rigidity over the third-generation models. The platforms also get a host of anti-vibration measures to ensure that vibrations are minimised for occupants.

The Toyota Alphard will come with a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine that develops 180bhp and 235Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Toyota Vellfire will run with a 2.4-litre turbocharged engine developing 275bhp and 430Nm of torque. Both models will also be available with a 2.5-litre hybrid drivetrain that develops 247bhp.

The new design language gives both cars more upmarket and classy looks. On the Alphard, a plated front grille pattern with matching headlights signature give it a clean front fascia. The taillights also replicate this pattern, flaked by chrome trim.

To distinguish the two models, the Vellfire instead gets a grille that comprises multiple horizontal elements, flanked by larger faux air intakes. Both cars feature a unique inverted ‘Z’ shape along their sides.

Thanks to changes to the driving position as well as the new construction of the second-row seats, Toyota claims that interior space between the front and second row seats has been increased by 5mm, while the space between the second-row and third-row seats increased by 10mm.

Rear passengers will also get a new Overhead Console, which is able to toggle controls for the air-conditioning and interior lighting. Ingress is also now easier thanks to Universal Steps on both right and left-hand-side sliding doors, while grips are now positioned on the C pillars and on both sides of the ceiling.

For those who wish to see stars, a moonroof is included in both vehicles, with independently operable right and left-side shades, so occupants can choose to see the sky even if others choose to block out the sunlight.

Expect to see these cars arrive on our shores in late 2024.

Lexus Teases all-new LBX model, Set To Debut On 5 June https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=264443 Sun, 28 May 2023 14:24:34 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=264443 Lexus has vaguely revealed teaser images of a new LBX model which is set to debut on 5 June 2023.

Another day, another SUV. This time, it’s from Lexus.

The Japanese marque is set to launch a new SUV, dubbed the LBX, that will join the ranks of the UX, NX and RX models. Lexus has not revealed much thus far, only mentioning a reveal debut date on 5 June 2023 in Milan, Italy.

Other than that, they have not released any further official details, aside from two teaser images. One image depicts the rear of the car, showing its taillights positioned fairly high up.

The other gives us a glimpse of the LBX’s front fascia, looking similar to the Lexus RX which was introduced not too long ago. Seems like Lexus is trying to unify its SUV lineup, giving each model sleek looks and a futuristic facade. If the LBX is anything to go by, it would probably be represented as a mini-me to the existing Lexus RX.

We’ll have to wait till the 5th of June to get more updates. Stay tuned!

BMW Motorrad Presents All-New R 18 Roctane https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=264357 Sat, 20 May 2023 04:40:00 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=264357 The new BMW R 18 Roctane is the fifth member of the R 18 family – cruising and touring in custom bagger style.

The BMW R 18 Roctane, part of the R 18 family, is a motorcycle that combines classic design elements with modern technology, paying tribute to BMW Motorrad’s history.

At the core of the R 18 Roctane is the renowned 2-cylinder flat twin engine, known as the “big boxer.” With 1,802 cc on tap, it is the most powerful 2-cylinder boxer engine ever built for a motorcycle series, offering impressive power and torque. The engine is complemented by a dark chrome exhaust system and star counter nuts.

The motorcycle’s chassis is built on a double-loop tubular steel frame, with suspension featuring telescopic forks and a directly linked central sprint strut with adjustable spring preload. Twin disc brakes at the front and a single disc brake at the rear gives it impressive stopping power too in a pinch.

The R 18 Roctane offers three riding modes, Automatic Stability Control (ASC), and engine drag torque control for safety and a smooth riding experience. Optional features include a reversing aid, Hill Start Control, and heated grips.

Design-wise, the R 18 Roctane reinterprets classic styling with elements inspired by the BMW R 5, such as the double-loop tube frame, pear-drop fuel tank, and open propeller shaft drive.

Metal body parts contribute to the vintage motorcycle aesthetic, and the suspension design mirrors the R 5’s rigid frame layout, albeit with modern improvements.

Ergonomically, the R 18 Roctane is designed for balance and comfort, featuring a two-level seat, footboards, a gearshift paddle, and high handlebars. The footrests are positioned behind the cylinders, promoting a relaxed riding posture.

For touring capabilities, the motorcycle comes with colour-matched cases providing ample luggage space, and riders can opt for a windshield and additional lighting. Plus, the R 18 Roctane’s adaptable architecture allows easy customisation and personalisation.

A timeless design, modern technology, and attention to detail. What more could you ask for?

BMW Motorrad Debuts all-new R 12 nineT https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=264349 Fri, 19 May 2023 16:20:43 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=264349 Purist Classic Roadster. Ready to customise. This is the all-new BMW Motorrad R12 nineT, embodying rich heritage and fascination.

The BMW R 12 nineT, following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the R nineT, embodies the rich heritage and fascination of BMW Motorrad. This classic roadster offers a plethora of options for customization, allowing riders to personalize their motorcycles to their heart’s content.

The R 12 nineT features the original 1200 boxer engine with an upgraded airbox and exhaust system, delivering a nostalgic and thrilling riding experience.

The flat-twin engine has been an integral part of BMW motorcycles for a century, known for its distinctive design, powerful acceleration, signature sound, and smooth performance. With the air/oil-cooled boxer engine, the R 12 nineT carries on this tradition.

The design of the R 12 nineT embodies classic and purist elements, with meticulous attention to detail.

Elements like the redesigned front mudguard, clear tank, seat, and rear line are reminiscent of traditional motorcycles like the /5 series and the legendary R 90 S from the 1970s. The tank, in true BMW boxer style, features the characteristic bend in the lower edge and allows for comfortable knee contact. The side covers in the frame triangle area further enhance the authentic roadster look, paying homage to BMW motorcycles of the 1970s.

BMW Motorrad offers an array of attractive customization options through its original accessory range, allowing riders to further personalize their bike. Additionally, the LED rear light unit integrated into the seat enables the realization of a “short tail” design, enhancing the bike’s customizability.

If you like the retro-futuristic aesthetic, the new R 12 nineT is something that is surely up your alley, combining the appeal of traditional motorcycles with innovative technology.

Reveal Of The All-New MINI Cooper Electric https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=264178 Mon, 08 May 2023 11:20:50 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=264178 The new fifth-generation MINI 3-door is the new electric kid on the block, ushering in a new generation of MINI models.

MINI is kickstarting its next generation with the MINI Cooper Electric, the now iconic 3-door that prioritises electric driving fun.

Originally launched in 2020, growth in sales saw the all-electric MINI Cooper SE becoming by far the most popular MINI model, with over 43,000 units being sold worldwide last year.

One out of five MINIs on the roads globally is now electrically powered. This was recently demonstrated too by the production anniversary of the one-millionth MINI 3-door of the current fourth generation.

Two variants will be available at launch. The base MINI Cooper E will punch out an output of 135 kW (180 bhp), while the faster MINI Cooper SE bumps that figure up to 160 kW (214 bhp). The lithium-ion battery is packed underneath the floor, enabling a lower centre of gravity that influences optimum road holding and weight distribution, while also increasing the vehicle’s stability and agility.

MINI is known for its hallmark go-kart feeling, and the MINI Electric continues that trend. Continuous advancement in the areas of technology, efficiency and power delivery reflects the careful handling of the popular MINI model’s tradition-steeped history.

Prospective customers can rejoice too, as the battery capacity in the MINI Cooper E has now increased to 40.7 kWh, while the MINI Cooper SE makes do with an even bigger 54.2 kWh capacity. This gives the new models a predicted range of between 300 and 400 kilometres, a big bump from the current generation.

The new MINI Cooper Electric built in the same BMW Leipzig Group Plant together with the MINI Countryman.

All-New Lexus LM To Debut At Shanghai Auto Show https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=263646 Wed, 12 Apr 2023 17:25:41 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=263646 Lexus will debut an all-new LM MPV at the Shanghai Auto Show.

Lexus is poised to debut an all-new LM MPV at the upcoming 2023 Shanghai Auto Show. This marks the second generation of their flagship MPV, and according to the Japanese carmaker, the new “flagship people carrier” will be the first LM model to join its European model line-up.

Not much has been revealed, but two teaser images were released, giving us some (used strongly here) of what it will look like. Even with this tiny preview, the next-generation model is set to look quintessentially Lexus, a detract from the original LM which was based on and is a near-identical copy of the Toyota Alphard. The original LM was offered with either 4 or 7 seats, the former masquerading as a limo shuttle of sorts. Two powertrain options powered the MPV, and buyers could opt for either a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder hybrid or a 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V6.

The new LM is expected to continue this trend, which possibly hints at the reveal of the fourth-generation Toyota Alphard as well.

We’ll have to wait till the official reveal to get the full updates. Watch this space.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV Teased Ahead Of April 17 Reveal https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=263634 Tue, 11 Apr 2023 17:58:49 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=263634 This will be the first electric vehicle to carry the Maybach monocle.

The all-new Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV will debut next month in China. Slated to launch at Auto Shanghai on April 17, Maybach released a lone teaser image that has fewer details than recent spy shots. The design has already been leaked online, but the details of the car are still hazy.

The teaser depicts the car underneath a sheet. While Mercedes attempts to hide the SUV’s design ahead of its big reveal, we know it’ll look similar to the current EQS SUV. Albeit, with some Maybach touches.

Generated by pixel @ 2023-03-30T03:40:19.400384

Styling touches on luxed-up Mercedes models are pretty unique, and spy shots have captured vertical slats on the lower bumper opening, similar to the grilles on the current generation Maybach S-Class and GLS. Apparently, the SUV with debut with a hood ornament, but it is not visible under the sheet in the teaser image.

Being a Maybach, the interior will definitely be a place of opulence and wealth. Expect lush materials in every nook and cranny, and every bit of technology that’s possible to cram into a car.

Powertrain statistics have not been revealed, but expect it to be similar if not faster than the EQS 580 SUV. The EQS 580 SUV has a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup producing 536 bhp and 858Nm of torque, and is currently rated at approximately 460km of range with its 107.8 kWh battery. The Maybach should be within those ballpark figures.

The new Maybach EQS 680 SUV will break cover at this year’s Auto Shanghai in China on Monday, April 17, at 2 pm CEST (8 am EST).
