Football – AutoApp Dev https://www.autoapp.sg/dev Mon, 01 Sep 2025 08:14:37 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9 Dongfeng by Volt Auto Named Official Young Lions Sponsor https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=283425 Mon, 01 Sep 2025 08:14:37 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=283425 The Football Association of Singapore has unveiled Dongfeng by Volt Auto and SELECT as official sponsors of the Young Lions ahead of the 2025/26 Singapore Premier League season.

SELECT continues to supply the official match ball and referee apparel, and now steps onto the pitch as the Young Lions’ kit supplier. Meanwhile, Dongfeng by Volt Auto takes pride of place on the front of the shirt.

“SELECT has been a valued supporter of the SPL ecosystem, providing quality equipment and apparel that meet international standards. We are pleased to deepen this collaboration with their role as the Young Lions’ kit supplier this season, which further strengthens their footprint across our football landscape. At the same time, we warmly welcome Dongfeng by Volt Auto into the fold as a new sponsor. Their decision to back the Young Lions reflects a shared belief in the power of youth, and football’s journey of growth.”

Chew Chun-Liang, FAS General Secretary

“The Young Lions embody drive, ambition and national pride, values that align with our brand and purpose. We believe in supporting local initiatives that nurture the next generation of leaders, and football is a powerful platform for that. We are delighted to be a part of football’s journey of growth, and looking forward to engaging meaningfully with Singapore fans and the wider community this season.”

Soh Ming, Founder and Managing Director of Dongfeng by Volt Auto

“We’re proud to take this next step with the Young Lions and the SPL. Our mission has always been to support the local game with the best tools to succeed, whether that’s through top-quality match balls, reliable referee gear, medical sport care supplies or professional-grade team kits.
It’s exciting to see how Singapore football continues to build on its foundation, and we’re honoured to play a part in that journey.”

Mr Sherman Lim, Director of Ryudben Sports

The Young Lions open against Balestier Khalsa on 21 September. Positivity is not a tactic, of course, but it does shape the environment; better kit, better tools, a sense that the broader ecosystem is paying attention.

New shirts, new sponsors, same mission: push the game forward, one well-earned point at a time. And if you spot a compact EV gleaming in a concourse again this season, don’t be surprised.

Hyundai Scores With All-New ASEAN Hyundai Cup https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=282585 Sat, 21 Jun 2025 12:33:56 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=282585 Hyundai Motor is revving up its commitment to Southeast Asia with a brand-new title partnership for the region’s most prestigious football tournament – the ASEAN Hyundai Cup.

The South Korean marque has long dabbled in the world of sports sponsorships, with FIFA, CONMEBOL, and now, the AFF (ASEAN Football Federation) all under its belt.

With the ASEAN Hyundai Cup, Hyundai is going full throttle into the heart of Southeast Asia, tapping into the region’s unparalleled passion for football and transforming it into a canvas for brand storytelling.

From Vietnam’s triumph over Thailand in 2024 to Singapore’s proud legacy with four titles, the tournament has matured from a modest two-week affair into a month-long, region-wide celebration of sport.

The 2024 edition shattered records with 541.5 million broadcast viewers and 12.66 billion social media impressions. Not bad for a tournament that began life back in 1996.

Sunny Kim, President of Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific, summed it up rather aptly: “Football is more than a sport for Hyundai, it’s a platform that unites and empowers communities.” That’s the ethos behind initiatives like the Hyundai Kids Mobile Library — an electric bus transformed into a classroom on wheels. Because progress, for Hyundai, also happens off the field.

ASEAN United FC: One Team, Many Stories

ASEAN Hyundai Cup

Hyundai has also been named the Presenting Partner for three other key events: the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™, the ASEAN Women’s MSIG Cup™, and the ASEAN U-23 Championship™. Together, they form the ASEAN United FC.

As Seamus O’Brien, SPORTFIVE’s President for APAC, put it, “The rise of ASEAN’s national teams is on pace with the region’s increasing importance as one of the world’s most dynamic auto markets.”

Beyond the visibility and the media metrics, it’s a declaration of intent that Hyundai is participating meaningfully in the region’s evolving identity.

Mobility and progress are for everyone, and in Southeast Asia, that journey is just getting started.

Audi has had a unique journey with FC Bayern Munich. It’s a partnership that has stood the test of time since 2002.
