GetGo – AutoApp Dev https://www.autoapp.sg/dev Tue, 01 Apr 2025 16:20:23 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9 Performance Motors Partners With GetGo, Offering Access To New BMW Cars https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=281552 Tue, 01 Apr 2025 16:20:23 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=281552 Here’s a scenario familiar to many of us – you drop your car off for servicing and are then left scrambling for a ride, juggling cab bookings or navigating the MRT maze with a paper cup of kopi in hand.

But what if, instead, a brand-new BMW was waiting for you in a green lot just outside the service centre? No catch. No sales pitch.

That’s exactly the kind of future Performance Motors Limited (PML), Singapore’s authorised BMW dealer, is charting out with their new partnership with GetGo Carsharing. It’s a first-of-its-kind collaboration, offering both luxury and freedom in one seamless experience.

Performance Motors

“We’re always looking for new ways to elevate the experience of our BMW owners. By partnering with GetGo, our customers have an easy way to stay on the move while their cars are being serviced. This is an industry-first offering by a premium car dealer, and we look forward to delivering greater convenience to our Service Customers and all BMW owners.”

Lawrence Tan, Managing Director of PML

From 28 March 2025, PML Service Customers will be able to access the brand-new BMW X2 and BMW 216i Gran Coupé directly through the GetGo app. Parked neatly in designated green lots at PML’s flagship service centre along Alexandra Road, these vehicles can be booked, unlocked, and driven off in mere minutes.

BMW owners leaving their car at the workshop won’t have to settle for a nondescript loaner. Instead, they’ll enjoy an upgrade of sorts. With exclusive promo codes provided through the GetGo app, service customers can slide behind the wheel of a sporty new BMW and continue with their day, uninterrupted.

“We are thrilled to partner PML to enable their customers and our GetGo users with the Freedom to Drive from the newly renovated BMW Retail.Next showroom at 303 Alexandra Road. Interested GetGo users who wish to experience the performance of the latest BMW X2 and BMW 216i can now access and book the vehicles via the GetGo app for a luxurious driving experience.”

Chan Jun Kai, Chief Operating Officer of GetGo
Performance Motors

As for what lies ahead, Performance Motors and GetGo hint that this is just the beginning. More BMW models and pickup locations may well be on the cards, expanding the reach of premium mobility even further.

This new offering joins an impressive list of customer-first initiatives by PML, including complimentary eco-shuttle services to MRT stations and Changi Airport, fast-track 90-minute servicing, after-hours drop-offs, and contactless key lockers.

Ultimately, this partnership is all about redefining the aftersales experience and showing what’s possible when technology and convenience come together.

GetGo and SBS Transit Enter New Partnership To Enhance Mobility In Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=272293 Thu, 29 Feb 2024 05:16:48 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=272293 GetGo, and SBS Transit (SBST) have announced a new partnership to promote seamless and sustainable mobility solutions for a car-lite Singapore.

Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 26 February 2024, GetGo, and SBS Transit (SBST) have committed to a new partnership that promotes car-sharing, in a bid to better enhance first and last-mile connectivity to or from SBS Transit’s islandwide public transport network.

SBS Transit (SBST) currently operates the North East and Downtown MRT lines, and GetGo currently has around 3,000 cars in its fleet.

This scheme will see approximately 400 GetGo cars parked within a 5 to 10-minute walk (or about 500m) from 50 SBST MRT stations, as well as bus interchanges that SBST operates. The process to obtain a GetGo vehicle is the same; users can locate and book cars via the GetGo app.

One such possible use case for this pilot would be enhanced connectivity to places where public transport is limited, such as Lim Chu Kang or East Coast Park.

Mr Toh Ting Feng, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of GetGo, said “We are excited to announce GetGo’s partnership with SBS Transit, as it marks a pivotal step towards realising Singapore’s ‘car-lite’ vision.”

“This collaboration underscores our commitment to redefining the future of urban mobility, a ‘car-lite’ ethos that aligns with our nation’s longstanding sustainable vision and the evolving needs of Singaporeans.”

Mr Jeffrey Sim Vee Ming, Group Chief Executive Officer of SBS Transit, added “In line with the Singapore Green Plan 2030, we are fully committed to forging collaborative partnerships and co-creating innovative solutions that encourage and inspire active mobility for a more sustainable future.”

Mr Sim and Mr Toh mentioned that they were also in discussions to offer combined public transport and car-sharing services to corporations in future.

However, when asked about the viability of such a scheme, since GetGo cars need to be returned to the same carpark to complete a rental, Mr Toh mentioned “we don’t have all the answers yet. This is just a start.”
