This new iteration refines the very essence of modern Rolls-Royce motoring; effortless performance, opulent craftsmanship, and an unrivalled platform for personalisation.

Speaking on the significance of the launch, Irene Nikkein, Regional Director Asia-Pacific, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said, “Our clients truly appreciate Ghost’s handling capabilities and its potential for Bespoke. Ghost Series II remains faithful to its principles, yet it elevates every aspect of its presence. It is the most technologically advanced and driver-focused V12 Rolls-Royce ever created.”

Singapore’s affinity for luxury automobiles makes it a natural choice for this debut. Renee Chua, Managing Director, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Singapore, echoed this sentiment: “This model has grown to be one of the most-loved Rolls-Royces in Singapore over the years, reinforcing its potential as both an engineering masterpiece and a canvas for individual expression.”

The Ghost Series II remains unmistakably Rolls-Royce, yet subtle refinements make it more commanding than ever. The signature Pantheon grille, now illuminated, takes centre stage, complemented by re-sculpted headlights with intricate daytime running light graphics.

At the rear, the updated tail lamp design, inspired by Rolls-Royce’s electric grand tourer, the Spectre, adds a modern touch, while 22-inch alloy wheels (offered in fully or partially polished finishes) complete the car’s imposing stance.

Rolls-Royce’s new SPIRIT digital interface takes command on the inside, housed within a pillar-to-pillar glass panel.

This system not only controls the vehicle’s myriad features but also integrates with Whispers, the brand’s exclusive private members’ app, allowing owners to send destinations to the car, track its location, and even manage locking remotely.

Rear-seat passengers have not been forgotten. Rolls-Royce has elevated the experience with dual streaming screens, Bluetooth connectivity for private listening, and an upgraded Wi-Fi hotspot.

For audiophiles, the 18-speaker Bespoke Audio system has been further refined, turning the car’s aluminium chassis into a resonance chamber for deep, immersive sound.

At its core, the Ghost Series II is powered by Rolls-Royce’s legendary 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12, producing seamless waves of torque from just 1,600 rpm. This beast delivers the quintessential Rolls-Royce waftability, a sensation where the car glides over any surface with near-supernatural grace.

The Ghost also features other suspension wizardry, which include the Planar Suspension System that incorporates a unique Upper Wishbone Damper, electronically controlled shock absorbers, and self-levelling air struts to deliver an unparalleled ride quality.

The Flagbearer System uses cameras to scan the road ahead, with the suspension automatically adjusts to undulations before the car even encounters them.

Lastly, the Satellite Aided Transmission GPS data is used to predict terrain, ensuring the car is always in the optimal gear for smooth, uninterrupted performance.

For Rolls-Royce clientele, ownership is as much about individual expression as it is about engineering excellence. The Ghost Series II expands the possibilities of Bespoke, offering new customisation options that go beyond materials and trims.

Among them, the Illuminated Fascia, inspired by celestial movements, now allows owners to create their own constellation-like motif. Meanwhile, the Spirit of Ecstasy Clock Cabinet, featuring a polished stainless-steel figurine encased in glass, serves as a centrepiece of luxury within the cabin.

New material options also make their debut, including Grey-Stained Ash, a meticulously hand-stained open-pore wood infused with metallic particles for a shimmering effect. For those with an appreciation for fine textiles, Duality Twill, a rayon fabric derived from bamboo, offers a tactile alternative to traditional leather.

For those who demand an edgier interpretation of Rolls-Royce luxury, the Black Badge Ghost Series II presents a more rebellious alternative. This variant is the most powerful, technical, and driver-focused Black Badge model to date, featuring a unique lower grille design, darkened chrome elements and bespoke 22-inch forged wheels that hint at its 600 hp output.

The interior follows suit with high-contrast materials, aerospace-grade aluminium weaves, and a deepened exhaust note, delivering a more visceral driving experience while retaining Rolls-Royce’s famed refinement.

For those who desire more legroom without compromising on the Ghost’s driver-focused dynamics, the Ghost Extended Series II offers 170 mm of additional rear space, creating an even more indulgent rear cabin experience.

The Extended model also introduces Serenity Seating, inspired by private jet interiors, and a champagne cooler, pre-set to serve vintage and non-vintage champagne at their optimal temperatures of 6°C and 11°C, respectively. Even in a car built for driving pleasure, Rolls-Royce ensures that every passenger’s journey is equally exceptional.

For those interested in commissioning their own Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II, the model is now available in three expressions:

  • Ghost Series II – S$1,858,888
  • Ghost Extended Series II – S$2,078,888
  • Black Badge Ghost Series II – S$2,168,888

True to the brand’s ethos, no two Ghosts will ever be the same, as each owner will have the opportunity to shape their car into a unique reflection of their personality.

This Is The New Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=277940 Fri, 11 Oct 2024 09:43:35 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=277940 Rolls-Royce has revealed the Ghost Series II, a bold yet elegant evolution of the brand’s most iconic nameplate.

With its “monolithic and self-assured” exterior, the Ghost Series II is a canvas for Bespoke commissions.

At the front, the design has been refined to highlight Rolls-Royce’s signature Pantheon Grille, and the sleek new headlight graphics with updated daytime running lights give the car a fresh, modern presence.

You’ll also notice the rear has been inspired by the Spectre, with newly configured tail lamps that add a touch of mystique to its already commanding presence. Buyers can now opt for two fresh 22-inch, nine-spoke wheel designs.

One of the exciting additions to the Ghost Series II is the new exterior colour: Mustique Blue. Named after the Caribbean island of Mustique and inspired by the 1929 Phantom II Continental prototype, this new hue shimmers with glass and mica flakes, reflecting sunlight as if it were “bouncing off a tropical sea”.

In case this isn’t what you were looking for, Mustique Blue joins Rolls-Royce’s extensive palette of over 44,000 colours, allowing for endless personalisation.

Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II

True to its heritage, the Ghost Series II is built for driving. Powered by a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine, this beast delivers 563bhp and 850Nm of torque, with full ‘waftability’ from as low as 1,600rpm.

This four-wheel drive limo glides thanks to Rolls-Royce’s Flagbearer System, which scans the road ahead to prepare the suspension for any bumps. The Satellite Aided Transmission uses GPS data to select the perfect gear for cornering too.

Inside is why most people buy a Rolls-Royce, and the new Ghost Series II doesn’t disappoint. You’re greeted by a world of opulence that draws from the recently updated Cullinan.

Rolls-Royce has introduced its new SPIRIT operating system, while the new Illuminated Fascia, spanning the width of the passenger side, evokes the night sky with its celestial-inspired design. The sound experience has also been upgraded with an 18-speaker, 1,400-watt audio system.

Rear passengers aren’t left out either; they can now connect up to two streaming devices, pair them with Bluetooth headphones, and enjoy the ride with Wi-Fi hotspots and USB-C charging ports.

The Ghost Series II also introduces a new open-pore wood, Grey Stained Ash. Hand-stained and enriched with microscopic metallic particles, it offers a shimmering, contemporary twist. It took Rolls-Royce more than four years to perfect this technique.

Another new material making its debut is the Duality Twill fabric, a luxurious rayon textile made from bamboo and embroidered with a striking ‘Duality’ graphic. This design reimagines the iconic interlinked ‘R’ initials and is no small feat, with up to 2.2 million stitches and 17.7km of thread going into a full Duality Twill interior, a process that takes up to 20 hours to complete.

For those looking for more customisation, the Duality Twill can be tailored with 55 different thread colours, and customers can choose from base twill textiles in Lilac, Chocolate, or Black. If that’s not your style, you can opt for Placed Perforation, a technique that sees unique designs crafted using fine perforations in the seat leather.

Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II

Alongside the Ghost Series II, Rolls-Royce is also offering the Ghost Extended Series II, which gives rear passengers 170mm more space without compromising the car’s sleek silhouette. Only the rear doors and apertures are extended, ensuring that the Ghost remains graceful in looks.

Rolls-Royce continues to set the benchmark for what it means to create a truly bespoke driving experience.

Rolls-Royce Presents Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis Private Collection https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=268455 Wed, 18 Oct 2023 07:05:07 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=268455 Only 25 lucky owners will get their hands on the solar eclipse-inspired Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis.

Total solar eclipses have long been events rich with stories from oral traditions behind them. From a dragon or snake in the sky eating the Sun to angry quarrelling Gods inflicting damage on each other, the occasion where Sol is fully obscured by Luna leaving a ring of fire visible to those in the umbra is certainly an experience of a lifetime.

And so, Rolls-Royce has drawn inspiration from the spectacle, mystery and drama of a total solar eclipse to herald the coming of the equally rare Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis Private Collection. Limited to just 25 units worldwide, the launch of these highly bespoke vehicles coincided with the annular solar eclipse that was visible in parts of the Western Hemisphere on 14 October.

“With Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis, we draw inspiration from a total solar eclipse: a seldom-seen and spellbinding phenomenon that reflects the rarity and beauty of Rolls-Royce Private Collections.”

“In capturing the magic of this celestial alignment, our Bespoke Collective of designers, engineers and craftspeople have once again elevated contemporary craftsmanship, with a landmark series of exquisite details that project the marque’s culture of ambition and excellence.”

“We are exceptionally proud to present these motor cars to 25 of our most significant clients around the world – it is these individuals who inspire greatness within our brand, and who drive us to create ever more bold and richly detailed expressions of modern luxury,” said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

The outside of the Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis is bathed in an ethereal hue called Golden Darkness, which takes after the light that’s cast during a total solar eclipse. This bespoke finish incorporates powdered copper pigment, which appears darker until it catches the light when it produces a rich and dramatic iridescence.

Mandarin adorns the inserts below the Pantheon Grille and brake callipers, reminiscent of the intense pulses of sunlight witnessed as the eclipse progresses.

Mandarin is also used for the hand-painted coachline, which is supposed to represent the transition from sunlight to darkness as Chandra approaches to block Surya.

On the inside, the Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis features a fully Bespoke Starlight Headliner with a solar eclipse-mimicking special animation. As the coach doors close and the engine is started, the ‘stars’ in the Starlight Headliner darken and a mesmerising sequence begins, replicating the totality of the solar eclipse, when the dark silhouette of the Moon completely obscures the bright light of the Sun.

A circle of 940 ‘stars’ is formed, representing the bright corona of light around the lunar silhouette. This is surrounded by a further 192 illuminating ‘stars’, recreating the otherworldly spectacle of stars visible in the sky during daylight, which occurs only during a total solar eclipse.

The animation remains visible for precisely seven minutes and 31 seconds, which is the longest possible duration of a total solar eclipse. Once this time has elapsed, the full constellation of stars in the night sky is restored.

Needless to say, this highly technical feature required Rolls-Royce to spend a year of painstaking development, in which the Bespoke Collective produced three complete prototypes to perfect the design and sequencing of the ‘stars’.

It’s not just the headliner that gets the eclipse treatment, but the illuminated fascia and “diamond ring” timepiece too.

The illuminated fascia of the Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis is adorned with 1,846 laser-etched ‘stars’ in a symbolic timeline of a total eclipse. A single Bespoke designer had sole responsibility for adjusting the individual size and position of each ‘star’ to create the mesmeric effect; a delicate and exacting process that took over 100 hours to complete.

The composition culminates in a Bespoke timepiece, which incorporates a brilliant-cut 0.5-carat diamond, recalling the “Diamond Ring” effect, when a single, dazzling point of light can be seen on Selene’s outline in the split seconds just before and immediately after it obscures Helios. This also represents the first time in Rolls-Royce’s history that a gemstone has been integrated into the clock’s bezel.

The Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis also features what Rolls-Royce calls a “Panoramic Sunset Interior.” At the totality of a solar eclipse, there is a moment when a golden twilight surrounds those viewing the eclipse, giving the illusion of a 360-degree sunset. The beauty of this rarely observed phenomenon is captured in bi-coloured seats with a unique perforated artwork, made of over 200,000 individual perforations.

The bold Mandarin leather is tinted in a black shade that is then perforated to reveal the brighter contrasting colour beneath, creating a visual effect with extraordinary depth and subtlety.

Bespoke finishing touches include illuminated treadplates, umbrellas with Mandarin piping concealed in the coach doors, and a unique indoor motor car cover bearing the Private Collection’s wordmark.

If total solar eclipses catch your fancy and you’re thinking of springing for one, well, you can’t. Rolls-Royce says all 25 examples of the Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis Private Collection have been allocated to clients around the world.
