Performance Motors Limited (PML) has just unveiled its newly transformed flagship showroom at Alexandra Road, and if you’re a BMW fan, this is the place to be. The transformation is all about BMW’s Retail.Next philosophy, focusing on customer-centricity, flexibility, and sustainability, while delivering a premium experience.

The launch also coincided with the debut of two updated heavyweights: the BMW M3 Competition Sedan and the BMW M3 Competition Touring.

A New Look for Two Icons

On the outside, both the M3 Sedan and Touring now sport fresh LED headlights, sleekly designed to combine low and high beams into a single module.

Each headlight cluster features two vertically arranged LED units that serve double duty as daytime running lights and turn signals. And to complete the look, both models roll on newly designed M forged light-alloy wheels.

Step inside, and you’re greeted by a revamped three-spoke M leather steering wheel. It’s got a flat-bottomed rim and neatly tweaked spokes, designed to match the sporty feel of the cockpit, which is generously appointed with carbon fibre accents and all the M-badging your heart desires.

Performance That Bites

But the real magic happens under the hood. Thanks to some tweaks in the digital engine control unit, the six-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo engines in both models now crank out an additional 20hp, bringing the total to a jaw-dropping 523bhp. That translates into faster, more aggressive, and relentless power delivery.

With its upgraded engine, the BMW M3 Competition Sedan with M xDrive rockets from 0-100km/h in a blistering 3.5 seconds. The Touring version is only a hair slower, hitting the same mark in 3.6 seconds.

BMW Updates M3 and M3 Touring Models https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=275196 Sat, 08 Jun 2024 03:51:00 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=275196 The updated BMW M3 Competition and M3 Competition Touring get a 20bhp boost and run on BMW’s latest Operating System 8.5.

BMW has once again elevated the stakes in the high-performance sector with updates to their iconic M3 models – the M3 Competition Saloon and the M3 Competition Touring.

Both variants now boast an enhanced power output, pushing up to 523bhp with a whopping 650Nm of torque. This power is now accessible over a broader rev range, from 2,750rpm right up to 5,730rpm.

The M3 Competition Saloon, now equipped with M xDrive, dashes from zero to 100km/h in a mere 3.5 seconds – trimming down a full 0.4 seconds from its predecessor. The Touring version is just a breath behind, achieving the same in 3.6 seconds.

Both models flaunt a redesigned front fascia, featuring LED headlights that consolidate high and low beams into a unified module, enhancing the vehicle’s aesthetic while improving nighttime visibility. For those who relish a more customised appearance, there’s the option to add Adaptive LED Headlights with striking blue inlays.

Step inside, and the interior speaks volumes of BMW’s dedication to luxury and functionality. The new three-spoke M leather steering wheel, now available in Alcantara, features a flat-bottomed rim and red centre marker at the 12 o’clock position.

Both models are also upgraded to BMW’s Operating System 8.5, displayed through a 12.3-inch information display paired with a 14.9-inch control display, offering M-specific content and an optional M-specific head-up display.

Further refining the experience, BMW introduced an innovative ambient lighting system, enhancing the contour lighting around the central seam vents, setting a mood that matches the dynamic drive.

These updated models are slated to hit the roads by mid-2024, promising BMW enthusiasts a blend of tradition and modern innovation in what could only be described as a thrilling package.
