Marina Bay Street Circuit – AutoApp Dev https://www.autoapp.sg/dev Wed, 25 Sep 2024 17:00:28 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2024 Draws Record Turnout https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=277671 Wed, 25 Sep 2024 17:00:28 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=277671 The Marina Bay Street Circuit was buzzing with energy this past weekend as the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2024 drew in a sold-out crowd of 269,072.

With fans filling every inch of the revamped circuit (thanks to last year’s redevelopment of the Bay Grandstand) this year’s attendance hit a record high.

On track, Lando Norris secured his first-ever Singapore win, and his third win this season thus far. Defending champion Max Verstappen’s Red Bull took the runner up position, followed by the Mercedes pair of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

Oscar Piastri, who started fifth, fought his way to third, ensuring a double podium for McLaren. This, combined with a lacklustre finish for Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, meant McLaren extended their lead over Red Bull in the constructors’ standings.

Beyond the adrenaline on the track, the weekend has been a sensory overload for fans.

Tens of thousands soaked up performances by top global acts like OneRepublic, Kylie Minogue, Disclosure (DJ), Thirty Seconds to Mars, The Corrs, Kool & The Gang, HONNE, BABYMONSTER, Lenny Kravitz and Tones & I.

And if you’re already thinking ahead to next year, the Super Early Bird (SEB) tickets for 2025, which dropped just two days ago, have already sold out. Unsurprisingly, in record time.

Missed your chance? Don’t worry. More tickets in select categories will be available under the Early Bird phase starting 1 October at www.singaporegp.sg. If the Singapore Grand Prix 2024 is anything to go by, next year’s race will be equally as exciting.

Sensational turnout for the 2023 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=267637 Mon, 18 Sep 2023 16:39:55 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=267637 The Marina Bay Street Circuit saw 264,108 fans grace its premises to the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2023 over the race weekend.

Despite a slight hiccup with the closure of the Bay Grandstand for the redevelopment of The Float at Marina Bay, the 2023 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix race has proven to be an absolute crowd-puller.

To mitigate the reduced seating as a result of the route change, the organisers introduced not one, not two, but six new grandstands and some extra walkabout tickets to make sure no one missed out on the high-octane action. And let me tell you, those tickets? They flew off the shelves faster than a Formula 1 car with DRS enabled.

The result? This year’s turnout has blown expectations out of the water. 250,000 was the figure that was expected over the three days, but the enthusiasm of the crowd shattered records, with a total attendance of 264,108 patrons.

The last couple of days have been nothing short of breathtaking either. Carlos Sainz, that man in red, pulled off a stunner in the qualifying session, claiming Ferrari’s seventh Singapore pole. He went on the secure his victory, ahead of former teammate Lando Norris and Mercedes Duo George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.

But it’s not just about the roaring engines and the squealing tyres. The Padang stage concerts have been setting the night on fire. Post Malone, Kings of Leon, and an impressive lineup from 88rising featuring Jackson Wang, Niki, and Rich Brian have drawn tens of thousands of fans.

Sunday’s crowd also got to catch Robbie Williams and Groove Armada at the Zone 4 Padang stage, along with the Kings of Leon and Madness at the Zone 1 Wharf Stage. It’s a music lover’s dream come true.

Demand for the 2024 race is already off the charts, and who’s to blame them? Those Super Early Bird tickets? Sold out within a mere 72 hours of going on sale. It’s a sign that the Formula 1 magic in Singapore is showing no signs of slowing down.

So, whether you’re a die-hard fan of the roaring machines on the track or you’re here for the music, Singapore’s Formula 1 extravaganza is an experience like no other. The lights are on, the engines are revving, and the city is alive with the thrill of speed and sound. Until next year, when we do it all over again!

For the next ticketing phase, selected tickets will now be available at Early Bird prices from 26 September via SGP’s official website – www.singaporegp.sg.
