MINI – AutoApp Dev https://www.autoapp.sg/dev Mon, 27 Oct 2025 04:17:45 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9 MINI JCW Convertible Review https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=283862 Mon, 27 Oct 2025 04:17:45 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=283862 There is something deeply satisfying about a fast convertible. It is not the most logical thing to buy, especially with Singapore’s weather swinging between sunburn and thunderstorms. But logic was never the point. The MINI John Cooper Works Convertible is about fun, freedom, and a proper bit of driving engagement. And on those fronts, it absolutely delivers.

A Grown-Up MINI With Its Wild Side Intact

MINI has undergone significant growth in recent years. The cabin is smarter, the ride more refined, and everything feels a little more polished than it used to. Some might say that has dulled the brand’s famously cheeky character.

Thankfully, this JCW Convertible reminds you it is still in there.

The sharp steering and playful handling are back. The turn-in is darty and intuitive, and the whole car responds with that classic go-kart eagerness that made MINIs so beloved in the first place. It is just a bit more grown-up about it now.

Power With Personality

Under the bonnet, you get a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 228 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission, and it feels quick, especially with the roof down.

The 0 to 100 km/h dash takes just 6.4 seconds, and while that number is respectable, it is the way the JCW delivers its power that keeps things exciting. Put it in Sport mode, and the exhaust gets cheeky, crackling and popping between shifts, as if it’s having a bit of a laugh. It definitely feels fast!

Brake feel is strong and immediate, with a satisfying bite the moment you press the pedal. For a car of this size and weight, the stopping power is more than adequate and perfectly matched to the JCW’s lively nature.

The brakes also deserve a proper mention. Despite switching to a simpler single-piston floating calliper design, the system still uses large 335 mm front discs, and the result is surprisingly good. Brake feel is strong and immediate, with a satisfying bite the moment you press the pedal. For a car of this size and weight, the stopping power is more than adequate and perfectly matched to the JCW’s lively nature. Unless you plan on participating in track days, you are unlikely to notice any significant compromise in performance.

Looks Good. Sounds Better.

From the outside, the MINI JCW Convertible wears its performance credentials with confidence. The body kit is just aggressive enough; the wheels fill the arches nicely, and the soft top adds that extra layer of character. You don’t need a sunny day to drop the roof, but when the weather cooperates, it really brings the car to life.

One thing I did miss, though? The bonnet scoop. I know it is probably not essential, but it gave the older JCWs that proper turbocharged aggression up front. This one looks great, just a little… cleaner. Maybe too clean.

Inside, you’ll find all the usual MINI design flair, including toggle switches, circular themes, and a central infotainment screen framed like a retro jukebox. The JCW seats hold you in nicely, and the driving position is spot on. The rear seats are best saved for emergency use or very small friends, but that’s part of the deal.

As for the boot, it is definitely on the small side, and not the easiest to access either. The soft-top roof mechanism consumes a significant amount of available space, and the opening is quite narrow. You will manage a weekend bag or two, but if you plan to haul anything bulkier, it’s best to lower your expectations or leave it behind.

Everyday Rebel

Is it the most practical? Not even close. Is it the most refined hot hatch on sale today? No, and that is not the point either. What the MINI JCW Convertible offers is personality, and that is becoming rare these days. In a world of ultra-serious performance cars and clinically silent EVs, this MINI feels refreshingly real.

It wants to be driven. It wants you to play, and it does all that while making the school run, grocery trip, or late-night drive feel like something special.

It All Comes Down to…

… the price, I guess. At a tad over SGD 300k, it’s by no means cheap. The MINI JCW Convertible is not perfect, and it doesn’t try to be. It is here to give you a laugh, make your commute feel like a back road blast, and remind you why you fell in love with driving in the first place.

Yes, it has matured slightly. No, it’s not practical. Yes, it could do with a scoop on the bonnet.

But make no mistake — the spirit of MINI is alive and well here. All you have to do is drop the roof, press the starter, and go find it.

MINI’s Latest Campaign Is A Breakup Story You’ll Want to Watch https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=282865 Fri, 18 Jul 2025 05:08:59 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=282865 We’ve all been there. One day you’re in love, the next… you’ve moved on. MINI’s latest clever campaign plays with this all-too-familiar narrative, but with cars.

From 18 July till the end of September, if you spot cars around Singapore with sassy one-liners plastered across their bonnets, you’re not hallucinating. You’ve just witnessed someone’s ex-car dealing with heartbreak.

The Concept: Breakups, but Make It MINI

Launched by MINI Asia in collaboration with MINI Eurokars Habitat, “DITCHED FOR MINI” is a bold and playful campaign that gives voice to the cars being traded in, particularly those that have just been… well, ditched for a MINI.

Every trade-in gets the chance to wear its heartbreak with pride, thanks to a breakup line stickered across its hood.

As a marketer myself, I’ve got to say – I like it. It’s daring, unorthodox, and very MINI. There’s always a risk with a campaign like this, but that’s what makes it memorable. It channels MINI’s cheeky spirit brilliantly and might just be the nudge someone needs to consider a switch.

Although I might’ve added a little extra to push it home for our rather literal Singaporean crowd. Something like:
“I traded this car in for a MINI.”
Just a bit more direct, in case anyone missed the punchline.

Why It Works

This campaign originated from a global creative challenge hosted by MINI AG. The Singapore team leaned into MINI’s legacy of banter-filled ads and decided to flip the script, giving the spotlight to the cars left behind. It’s a subtle nod to the age-old brand wars, but with more heart and humour.

Not only is it a creative way to make trade-ins feel part of the story, but it also lets their owners express the emotional “why” behind their decision. Because for many MINI drivers, it’s not just a car. It’s a vibe. A flirt. A personality on four wheels.

What’s Actually Happening?

For the next couple of months, cars traded in for a new MINI will carry these breakup stickers while they’re still on the road. You’ll likely spot them at carparks, junctions, or zipping around town wearing lines like:

• “It’s not you, it’s MINI.”
• “I’ve met someone smaller, faster, and cuter.”

Alongside that, you’ll see digital ads popping up on high-traffic screens across Singapore – at malls, lifts, bus stops – continuing the cheeky messaging. Don’t worry about the ditched cars. MINI has promised they’ll find new homes through Eurokars Pre-Owned. There’s life (and love) after a breakup, after all.

All-New MINI John Cooper Works Family Lands In Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=282825 Sat, 12 Jul 2025 08:41:59 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=282825 The all-new MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) family is serving up five firecracker models, including two electrifying new entries.

These are the hooligans of the range, dressed to the nines and itching for a good backroad brawl or a high-tech sprint to the office.

Whether it’s the howling TwinPower Turbos or the whisper-quiet-but-whiplash-inducing electric variants, each model is remixed for a modern audience.

Something for Every Adrenaline Junkie

MINI Cooper Electric and Aceman JCW

This generation also marks the arrival of the first-ever MINI John Cooper Works Electric and the MINI JCW Aceman. Both models dish out 258hp and 350Nm of torque with an electric boost that brings 20kW of added power for those tight overtakes or stoplight showdowns. Range is around 371km for the three-door and 355km for the Aceman.

And lest you worry that performance is lost in translation to electric, these EVs still bring that signature go-kart feel – JCW-specific suspension, sticky high-performance tyres, and even aeroblades and spoilers.

MINI John Cooper Works lineup

Prefer your thrills with the sound of a turbocharged growl? The MINI JCW 3-Door and JCW Convertible bring the heat with a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo engine pumping out 231hp and 380Nm.

From a standstill to 100km/h in just over six seconds, and with a top speed of up to 250km/h, these are city cars with racing ambitions. Oh, and the Convertible drops its top in 18 seconds.

The MINI JCW Countryman ALL4 is the biggest of the bunch. With 300hp and 400Nm underfoot, this all-wheel-drive bruiser hits 100km/h in a brisk 5.4 seconds. It’s the SUV for those who wear hiking boots but still want to corner fast.

Sport Meets Style

MINI John Cooper Works lineup

Climb into any of these MINI JCWs and you’re greeted with a red-and-black motif. The leatherette sports seats hug you tight, the flat-bottom steering wheel grips back, and there’s an OLED screen feeding you all the juicy stats (torque, g-force, power levels) all while the Harman Kardon system belts out your favourite driving playlist.

“If jolts of adrenaline are what drivers desire, I can assure them that all five models of our all-new MINI John Cooper Works family will exceed their expectations!”

Daren Ching, Head of MINI Asia

MINI’s “Go-Kart Mode” sharpens the steering and throttle response for those moments when East Coast Parkway feels just a little too… civilised. And with Digital Key Plus, your phone becomes your key.

The MINI Evolution

MINI John Cooper Works lineup

With prices starting at $257,888 and climbing to $317,888, the MINI JCW lineup is proof that performance doesn’t need to come in V8-shaped packages.

Sometimes, all it takes is a little car with a big attitude.

Cruising Thailand Quickly & Quietly: A MINI Electric Road Trip https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=281308 Sun, 23 Mar 2025 09:20:01 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=281308
Thailand isn’t exactly the first place you’d imagine exploring quietly, but that’s exactly how things unfolded on a recent road trip I took with MINI. Instead of the usual petrol-powered roar, our travel soundtrack was the subtle hum of electric motors. On this trip, I drove the MINI Cooper SE and MINI Aceman SE, pushing out an impressive 218 bhp and 330 Nm of torque—more than enough to keep things lively without disturbing the peace.

Our journey started at the sleek Novotel Future Park hotel, just outside Bangkok, where the morning air was crisp, and the MINIs were fully charged for the day’s adventure. The route promised variety: scenic B-roads, rural highways, and a special visit to Pathumthani Speedway.

We got an exclusive sneak peek at the electrified future of MINI’s John Cooper Works line-up, including the MINI John Cooper Works Electric and MINI John Cooper Works Aceman. Being among the first in the world to test these cars felt special—but that detailed experience deserves its own story, which I’ll share at Burnpavement.com.

After pushing limits at the track, we headed to the EV Station Hub for a quick recharge, both for the cars and ourselves.

Our next stop was the charming Choc-a-bloc café, a European-inspired hidden gem in the Thai countryside. With fresh coffee and delicious cakes in hand, pausing in a spot so distinctly European yet unmistakably Thai felt surreal.

Fully caffeinated, our convoy continued towards Muak Lek reservoir, where the picturesque setting called for an impromptu photoshoot. After capturing a few rolling shots of the MINIs against the lush backdrop, we moved on to Baan Tha Rit Viewpoint.

Here, the highlight wasn’t just the sweeping views but the friendly goats eager for snacks—indeed, not a standard car launch activity, but one we all enjoyed immensely.

The day ended at Chao Baan Restaurant, where local Thai dishes awaited. Good food, great company, and easy-going conversation about the day’s highlights provided the perfect closure to our quiet yet fulfilling adventure.

Our last night was spent at The Series Resort in Khao Yai, where the cool weather—around 18°C—made us wish we could stay longer. The resort’s peaceful surroundings and comfortable ambience were exactly what we needed after a day filled with excitement.

Finally, we drove back to Bangkok to return the cars at the new One Bangkok development, making time for one last delicious Thai meal before heading back to Singapore. Driving electric through Thailand with MINI proved more relaxing and enjoyable than expected. Quiet journeys, unexpected café discoveries, goat feeding, and incredible mountain evenings were ingredients for an unforgettable road trip.

MINI Launches All-New MINI Cooper Convertible https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=281170 Tue, 11 Mar 2025 12:37:09 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=281170 MINI Singapore has recently unveiled the all-new MINI Cooper Convertible.

There’s something undeniably special about driving a convertible. It’s that sense of freedom, that open-air exhilaration, and, of course, the envious glances from passersby. The new MINI Cooper Convertible embraces this spirit with a soft top that folds away in just 18 seconds.

Whether you’re weaving through city streets, cruising down a coastal road, or taking on the expressway, the transformation from snug coupé to sun-chasing cabriolet is seamless.

“‘Always Open’, that’s how you’ll want to drive the all-new MINI Cooper Convertible. It embodies everything that makes MINI an icon—timeless design, thrilling dynamics, and that unbeatable open-air experience. As the only convertible in Singapore’s premium compact segment, it takes excitement to a whole new level.”

Daren Ching, Head of MINI Asia
MINI Cooper Convertible

Looks matter, and MINI knows it. The new Cooper Convertible blends classic design cues with contemporary accents.

The iconic round LED headlights, striking front grille, and sleek, minimalistic surfaces come together to form a car that’s unmistakably MINI. And for those who like a bit of British charm, the woven fabric soft top is available with a grey Union Jack motif.

Hop inside, and you’ll find a refined yet fun-loving cabin. The new “Charismatic Simplicity” design keeps things clean and modern, with a sporty steering wheel, an OLED central display, and the signature MINI toggle switches.

The seats are comfortable yet stylish, with fresh materials like two-tone knitted fabric made from recycled polyester.

MINI Cooper Convertible

The latest MINI Operating System 9 is accessed from the high-resolution OLED display. For those who love a bit of customisation, the MINI Experience Modes let you tweak the interior lighting and display themes to match your mood.

The luggage compartment holds 160 litres with the roof down, expanding to 215 litres when closed. A clever folding system allows the soft top to be stowed away efficiently, while the tailgate opens downwards for easy access.

There’s even an integrated rollover protection system deploys automatically in case of an emergency, ensuring peace of mind when you’re enjoying the open road.

MINI Cooper Convertible

A MINI wouldn’t be a MINI without its signature go-kart handling, and the Convertible delivers in spades. Under the hood sits a lively 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, pumping out 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque.

The MINI Convertible comes equipped with finely tuned suspension and damping for precise handling, while highly preloaded anti-roll bar mounts provide stability in tight corners.

MINI Cooper Convertible

Priced at S$285,888, this drop-top dynamo is available now, promising endless summer vibes all year round.

MINI Aceman SE Review https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=280629 Fri, 31 Jan 2025 17:21:23 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=280629 The MINI Aceman is the latest addition to the British marque’s lineup, slotting neatly between the Cooper and the Countryman.

With the Countryman now taking on a more traditional SUV role, the Aceman arrives as the “replacement” for the Clubman.

This is a compact electric crossover that aims to give MINI fans a bit more space, practicality, and five-door convenience.

How New Is It, Really?

MINI Aceman SE

While the Aceman is a fresh nameplate in MINI’s range, it is not an entirely new car. Beneath the funky styling, it is essentially a stretched, five-door version of the Cooper Electric, with the same battery and motor options.

Like its smaller sibling, it is available in two variants. The E pushes 148bhp and 290Nm of torque, while the SE bumps that up to 215bhp and 330Nm.

A Love-It-Or-Hate-It Design

MINI Aceman SE

The Aceman follows MINI’s latest ‘Charismatic Simplicity’ design philosophy.

From certain angles, the Aceman resembles a shrunken Countryman, while in others, its square wheel arches and angular nose give it a slightly awkward stance. The familiar MINI lighting signatures remain, with three different daytime running light patterns to choose from, customisable via the infotainment system.

MINI describes the car’s lines as “plump MINI shapes”, a phrase that is unlikely to find its way onto a marketing campaign any time soon. While the overall shape retains MINI’s charm, some may find the new edgy aesthetic less appealing than the brand’s traditionally rounded designs.

Step inside, and you will be greeted by a layout that is almost identical to the Cooper Electric and Countryman. If you have seen one new-gen MINI, you have seen them all.

The centrepiece is the 24cm circular OLED touchscreen, which dominates the dashboard. Beneath it, there is a row of physical buttons and a large, chunky steering wheel.

Functionality remains strong, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integrated, while a ‘tool belt’ menu allows drivers to customise shortcuts for frequently used functions.

While some settings are buried in menus, the interface is responsive and well-designed, making it easier to use than many rival touchscreen systems.

Materials are a mixed bag. The recycled textile dashboard covering adds an interesting texture to the interior, but some plastic elements let the premium feel down.

Meanwhile, the fabric strap on the steering wheel’s third spoke looks cool but does not serve much practical purpose.

Rear seat space is acceptable for a car of this size, with decent legroom and easy access thanks to the five-door layout.

However, anyone approaching 1.8-metres will find headroom slightly tight due to the car’s sloping roofline.

MINI Aceman SE boot

In terms of boot space, the Aceman offers 300 litres with the seats up and 1,005 litres with the rear seats folded. A step up from the Cooper, but still not class-leading among electric crossovers.

Still A MINI At Heart

MINI Aceman SE

We tested the Aceman in SE trim, which produces 215bhp and 330Nm of torque, allowing it to rock the century sprint in 7.1 seconds. Top speed is a modest 170km/h.

Surprisingly, even the Aceman SE does not feel as sprightly as some other EVs off the line, despite having a power advantage over the base model. Even in its sportiest ‘Go-Kart’ mode, it does not shove you into the seat the way some electric cars do.

It is also not particularly light, tipping the scales at 1,785kg. As a result, joining highways requires a bit of patience, as acceleration is not as instantaneous as you might expect from an electric MINI.

MINI Aceman SE

What MINI fans will appreciate is that the Aceman handles well, despite the extra weight. It corners with precision, resisting understeer admirably thanks to its low battery placement. The steering is direct, though in Go-Kart mode, it can feel artificially heavy.

That said, ride comfort is firm; something we have come to expect from modern MINIs. The suspension struggles to absorb imperfections, and bumpy roads unsettle the car more than they should.

MINI claims a WLTP range of 407km for the SE model. However, in our real-world testing, the Aceman only managed 17.4kWh/100km, translating to a real-world range of around 311km, significantly lower than the official figure.

Charging speeds are respectable but not groundbreaking. The E model supports 70kW DC fast charging, while the SE can handle up to 95kW, meaning a 10-80% charge takes around 30 minutes.

A Crossover For MINI Loyalists

MINI Aceman SE

For buyers already considering the Cooper, the MINI Aceman makes a strong case for itself. It offers more space, five doors, and a bigger boot. The interior is identical, so if you already like the Cooper’s cabin, you will feel right at home here.

However, the firm ride, slightly sluggish acceleration (even in SE trim), and real-world range limitations may put off some buyers. It does not drive as sweetly as a Cooper, nor does it offer the same level of cuteness that makes the three-door hatch so appealing.

That being said, the Aceman will likely attract Cooper customers looking for a bit more space, and in that regard, it does its job well.

MINI Asia Unveils All-New MINI Cooper Convertible https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=280409 Sat, 18 Jan 2025 08:11:28 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=280409 There is something inherently joyful about a convertible, and no other brand probably does it better than the MINI Cooper Convertible.

MINI, a brand synonymous with cheeky fun and go-kart handling, is set to elevate that experience with the all-new MINI Cooper Convertible.

“We are thrilled to bring open-top fun to the Singapore Motorshow,” said Daren Ching, Head of MINI Asia. “The all-new MINI Cooper Convertible takes the fun-loving spirit of MINI to the next level with a fully retractable soft top, an offering that remains unique in the premium small car segment. We cannot wait to fully introduce it to you later this year.”

And just when you thought it couldn’t get more exciting, Ching teased another surprise: “The all-new MINI John Cooper Works models are coming very soon, and trust me, the heart of MINI will beat stronger than ever this year!”

At first glance, the all-new MINI Cooper Convertible retains everything enthusiasts love about MINI; compact proportions, distinctive styling, and a personality that’s impossible to ignore.

But beneath its playful exterior, the car is now powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque, launching from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

The fully automatic soft top can be opened in two ways: a sunroof mode for just a hint of fresh air, or fully retracted at speeds of up to 30 km/h. When down, it tucks neatly behind the rear seats, maximising luggage space.

If previous generations are anything to go by, this new MINI Cooper Convertible will continue to remain a fan favourite among enthusiasts, retaining that quintessential MINI charm that fans over the decades have come to know and love.

The All-New MINI Countryman C Lands in Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=278655 Fri, 01 Nov 2024 08:54:01 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=278655 Singapore’s MINI lineup just got a new player, the MINI Countryman C.

With a refined look, smart interior upgrades, and a peppy 3-cylinder engine, it’s MINI’s idea of adventure on four wheels, dressed up in a compact, ready-for-anything frame.

The Countryman C has gained a few centimetres since its predecessor; 13 cm longer, 8 cm taller.

MINI’s signature octagonal grille is there, but it’s been redesigned to stand out even more, framed by distinctive LED lights that bring out its bold, upright character.

Add short overhangs and those signature MINI lines, and you have a car that’s sporty and modern yet still distinctly MINI.

Standard on the Countryman C are sleek Piano Black roof rails that add a hint of ruggedness. And with 202 mm of ground clearance, the Countryman C is equipped to handle Singapore’s occasional rough patches or even a countryside jaunt if you’re up for it.

The 18-inch Asteroid Spoke wheels are a nice finishing touch, giving it an assertive stance that feels right at home.

MINI’s designed the Countryman C’s interior to feel as spacious as it is comfortable. With enough room for five adults, the interior is practical with patterned multi-tone textile seats that add a bit of flair to the cockpit.

Fold the backrest down 40:20:40, and you’ll get from 450 litres to 1,460 litres of trunk space.

At the centre of the dashboard sits the new, round OLED display. It controls everything from infotainment to driving assistance, all at your fingertips.

MINI’s added their Experience Modes, which let you change up the cockpit’s look and feel with different visuals, lighting, and sounds. And, of course, there’s the MINI toggle bar, a signature touch that lets you handle all essential driving functions.

Under the hood, the Countryman C is powered by a 1.5-litre MINI TwinPower Turbo engine. Now, 119hp may sound modest, but with 230Nm of torque at your disposal, this SUV delivers the punch you expect from a MINI.

Acceleration is brisk (0 to 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds) and it’ll top out at 194km/h. The TwinPower Turbo technology keeps things efficient, while the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission ensures smooth shifts and responsive handling.

Fuel consumption is set an average of 6.8litres/100 km, which is impressive for an SUV of this size.

Daren Ching, Head of MINI Asia, summed it up well: “After welcoming the John Cooper Works and Electric versions earlier this year, we’re thrilled to introduce the Countryman C as a new, Category A COE option for Singapore’s rugged adventurers. Compact, agile, and packed with personality, the Countryman C is built for exploring the big wide world.”

With a retail price of S$242,888, the Countryman C is a premium choice in the compact SUV category, but it offers a lot of value in return. Between its eye-catching design, spacious interior, and efficient engine, it’s the kind of SUV that lets you enjoy the best of both worlds: urban convenience with a touch of rugged spirit.

MINI Aceman Launched In Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=278559 Wed, 30 Oct 2024 15:51:27 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=278559 The MINI Aceman is here, and it’s unlike any MINI you’ve seen before.

Combining the brand’s compact footprint with the ruggedness of a crossover, the Aceman introduces an all-electric platform to Singapore’s streets.

As Daren Ching, Head of MINI Asia, put it, “The Aceman is our vision of urban adventure, bold, distinctive, and, of course, fun to drive.”

At just over four meters long, the Aceman sits between the MINI Cooper and MINI Countryman in terms of size.

From the wide, octagonal grille with vibrant silver accents to its angular LED headlights, every inch of this car is designed to stand out.

MINI’s famous “Clever Use of Space” principle shines here, with a roomy interior that seats five comfortably. The body design is streamlined, with flush door handles and a slick two-box structure that enhances aerodynamics.

Stepping inside the Aceman, you’re greeted with MINI’s “Charismatic Simplicity” design ethos. The cockpit is pared down, focusing on the essentials while keeping a sense of fun.

Think of it as a modern nod to MINI’s heritage, with familiar features like the central OLED display and the iconic toggle bar. This time, though, the toggle bar handles everything from start/stop to volume control, creating a clean, clutter-free environment.

There’s ample shoulder room, leg space, and even a warm, ambient lighting that adjusts to your mood. The dashboard’s knitted fabric with recycled polyester extends into the door panels, giving the interior a cosy, homey feel.

The seats are made from Vescin, a high-quality material with perforations for added comfort, offering just the right mix of luxury and practicality.

The rear seats fold down in a 60:40 split, expanding the boot space from 300 litres to 1,005 litres.

The MINI Experience Modes are designed to elevate the driving experience with ambient lighting and sound settings that bring the interior to life. With modes like Go-Kart, Core, and Personal, each setting changes the vibe entirely.

The Experience Modes aren’t just visual either. Thanks to projectors that illuminate the dashboard, each mode offers a different light show across the car’s interior, making every drive feel a bit more immersive.

In Personal mode, you can even upload a photo from your phone as a background, with the colours projected throughout the car.

The Aceman is offered in two electric models: the Aceman E and Aceman SE. The Aceman E delivers 110 kW and can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h.

If you’re after a bit more punch, the SE model steps it up with 160 kW, hitting 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and topping out at 170 km/h.

Range-wise, the Aceman E offers up to 310 km on a full charge, while the SE stretches that to 407 km. With 95 kW DC fast-charging capability in the SE, you can go from 10% to 80% in just under 30 minutes.

Safety in the Aceman is comprehensive. It comes equipped with Driving Assistant, which offers steering and lane assistance, making city driving more manageable. Surround View cameras and ultrasonic sensors detect nearby objects, making parking a breeze.

Check out the new MINI Aceman in the revamped MINI Habitat today.

The All-New MINI Cooper 5-Door Is Now In Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=278528 Mon, 28 Oct 2024 15:07:01 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=278528 Say hello to the latest iteration of the MINI Cooper 5-door, giving more versatility to prospective customers.

The all-new MINI Cooper 5 Door has officially landed in Singapore, promising to keep the brand’s reputation for fun, quirky driving alive while offering more room for both passengers and adventures.

Let’s face it: the MINI’s compact silhouette is what makes it special. But with the new 5-door model, you get a touch more space without sacrificing the playful character that everyone loves.

At 4,036 mm long, it’s only slightly bigger than the 3-door version, but that extra space makes a difference.

At first glance, it’s clear that this is still a MINI through and through. It’s got all the familiar design cues; the round headlights, octagonal front grille, and short overhangs that make it look ready to pounce.

The updated LED headlights, complete with a welcome and goodbye light animation, add a modern touch to the classic design. Around the back, the new MINI aesthetic continues with sleek surfaces and flush-mounted LED taillights that keep things simple yet striking.

The charm of the MINI has always been about doing more with less. In this new 5-door model, the longer wheelbase and slightly extended body translate into a noticeably more spacious interior.

It’s designed to comfortably seat five, and the rear seats can be folded down in a 60:40 split, allowing you to expand the boot space from 275 litres to a generous 925 litres when you need it. The interior makes use of recycled materials, including knitted polyester on the dashboard and door panels.

Inside, the cabin maintains the minimalist yet playful aesthetic that MINI fans love. The circular OLED display in the centre of the dash is a standout feature, offering crisp visuals and intuitive touch controls.

It’s a nod to the original round speedometer that Alec Issigonis, MINI’s legendary designer, introduced, but updated for the modern era.

And speaking of customization, MINI’s added seven new Experience Modes that change the vibe of the interior at the touch of a button. From the signature Go-kart mode, with its sporty John Cooper Works-inspired colours, to Personal Mode, where you can set your own images as the background.

What’s a MINI without the go-kart-like handling? Thankfully, the new 5 Door doesn’t disappoint. It’s got a slightly wider track and larger wheels, which not only improve its handling but also give it a bit more visual presence.

The suspension is tuned for a mix of comfort and agility, and it’s got the kind of direct steering feel that makes every drive a joy.

The new MINI Cooper 5 Door comes with a 1.5-litre MINI TwinPower Turbo engine, putting out 152 hp and 230 Nm of torque. That’s good for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 8.0 seconds.

Whether you’re a long-time MINI enthusiast or just someone who appreciates a car with a distinct personality, the 5 Door is worth a look.
