series – AutoApp Dev https://www.autoapp.sg/dev Tue, 09 May 2023 08:22:00 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9 Harley-Davidson Introduces Fast Johnnie Limited Edition Series https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=264187 Tue, 09 May 2023 08:22:00 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=264187 It’s full American pride here, with high-performance muscle cars inspiring a limited-edition trio of motorcycles.

What’s arguably more American than a bunch of loud, boisterous motorcycles? Well, muscle cars of course.

In a new limited-edition series, Harley-Davidson is celebrating muscle car culture and its racing heritage with the introduction of Fast Johnnie, the 2023 addition to the Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection of limited-run bikes. These bikes are decked out with factory-direct custom paint and graphic treatments, amongst other upgrades.

Executed in Celestial Blue with white racing stripes, this special Enthusiast Collection paint scheme is offered for three 2023 Harley-Davidson models – the Low Rider ST, the Street Glide ST and the Road Glide ST motorcycles, with production limited to no more than 2,000 of each model globally.

Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection models are curated to celebrate Harley-Davidson riders, inspired by their stories and legacies. The Fast Johnnie paint scheme taps into iconic design themes featured on high-performance muscle cars and pony cars of the 1960s and 1970s.

A contrasting “racing” or “rally” stripe is creased over a bold base colour, with a clever symbolic character or logo incorporated into each motorcycle. A “Harley-Davidson” script replaces one of the thin stripe elements on the tank and front fender.

Depending on the motorcycle model, the striping is applied to the front and rear fenders, the fuel tank top and sides, the front of the fairing and the side covers and saddlebags. A custom Enthusiast Motorcycle Collection logo is also located on the rear fender.

The Fast Johnnie character applied to the left side of the fuel tank also appears on the Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle factory team motorcycles raced in the MotoAmerica King of the Baggers series. It was inspired by the story of a piglet named Johnnie, who was adopted in 1920 by Harley-Davidson racer and member of the infamous “Wrecking Crew,” Ray Weishaar, subsequently becoming a team mascot.

The piglet was often seen perched on a motorcycle fuel tank for a post-race victory lap, and this reference is usually cited as the source of the “Hog” moniker that to this day is often referenced to anything Harley-Davidson.

“The striping graphic effect is a powerful signal to the generation that came of age during this era, and is still impactful today,” said Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson Vice President of Design and Creative Director.

“The Celestial Blue base colour selected for Fast Johnnie recalls a popular tone from the muscle car era. For the graphic striping, we created a custom white colour formulated to authentically reflect the era, executed in a classic thin-wide-thin pattern on the sides and top of the motorcycle bodywork. The look is a nod to pure Americana.”

World Debut of the All-New Toyota Crown Series https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=262963 Tue, 07 Mar 2023 08:34:06 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=262963 Toyota has revealed the all new Crown for the first time, and will debut the Toyota Crown Crossover as the first model around Q3 this year.

The Crown is a nameplate that is legendary in Singapore. Even if you never owned one, chances are you sat in one, as they were the taxi cab of choice back then. Reliable, tons of space, and bulletproof on the roads, the Crown always had a place in our hearts. They weren’t common on our roads, but they were grand beings that exudes luxury as they went by.

The ‘Crown’ designation made its initial debut back in 1955 as Toyota’s first mass production passenger vehicle created with Toyota’s own domestic technology. The DNA of “innovation and limit-pushing” led to the creation of the first independently developed luxury car after world war 2.

Decades later, this tradition has been passed down to successive models of Crowns, and the past 67 years has always been pursuing new values that are one step ahead of the times and loved by many customers. However, times have changed, and the Crown has become unable to fully meet the diversifying needs of its customers. Specifically, the SUV or crossover segment of the market.

Hence, when designing the new Crown, the development team thoroughly reexamined what “Crown” is, and as a result created four completely new models. In addition to the traditional saloon, there is a new Crossover, Sport and Estate.

Whichever one you prefer, the new series will be rolled out in about 40 countries and regions. Singapore is poised to be one of these markets

The crossover will be the first of the quartet to be rolled out, and you can expect to see them on the roads sometime in Q3 of 2023.

Rolls-Royce Unveils Unique ‘The Six Elements’ Bespoke Series Phantom https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=262197 Sun, 25 Dec 2022 18:12:33 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=262197 You think the Rolls-Royce Phantom couldn’t get more bespoke? Think again.

Rolls-Royce has recently unveiled its unique Bespoke Series Phantom, ‘The Six Elements’, at a private gala ceremony held in Dubai.

The unique project, initiated by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Dubai in partnership with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Abu Dhabi, comprises six Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Series IIs.

The unique bit? Each Phantom is entirely individual, and features its own specially commissioned artwork on the inside, hand-painted by British Artist Sacha Jafri. These works of art are displayed in the Gallery, or for layman folk, the glass-enclosed space running the length of the Phantom’s dashboard.

Each piece of artwork is inspired by one of the five traditional elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Wind and Air. The sixth, Humanity, references Sacha Jafri’s best-known work, ‘The Journey of Humanity’, the world’s largest painting on canvas done over seven months during the COVID-19 pandemic in Dubai.

Like all Phantom models, ‘The Six Elements’ was designed, developed and handcrafted by the Bespoke Collective at the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood. This unique series was also done in collaboration with the resident Bespoke designer in the Rolls-Royce Private Office in Dubai. This project initially began in late 2020, and has taken two years to complete, with COVID-19 being a plausible reason for the hiatus.

Apart from the unique artwork, each car also features its own unique NFT and QR codes, which the owner can sell independently if they choose to do so. With every trade of these 6 NFTs, a royalty will be paid into a digital wallet, raising funds for future charitable donations.

To view each vehicle’s NFT, the owner of the Phantom can scan a bespoke Jafri Heart-motif QR code embedded within their car’s glove compartment.

Rolls-Royce has updated that the project, currently at stage one of its journey, has already exceeded its initial target funding of $1.3 million, with all six cars having been allocated to customers in Dubai and the wider Middle East region.

One can hope at least one of these 6 cars will be driven out from time to time.

The King Is Back – Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II Debuts In Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=262041 Sun, 11 Dec 2022 18:02:04 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=262041 Rolls-Royce’s latest Phantom Series II has dropped on our shores, and it oozes pantomime and opulence.

Make way, luxury executive saloons, for your king has returned. The Rolls-Royce Phantom has always set the bar for opulence, and nothing can compromise its grandeur as the gold standard of luxury. Now, Rolls-Royce has announced the arrival of the new Phantom Series II, which has recently landed in Singapore.

Our small little island is also the very first South East Asian country to receive the new model. Neat.

Of course, everyone knows a car like this doesn’t come cheap. Brace yourself, for the new Phantom Series II starts with an eyewatering price tag of S$2,098,888 without COE. And that only gets you the “standard” wheelbase variant. Want the Extended Long Wheelbase one? Prepare to drop a cool S$2,448,888 without COE.

This equates to roughly $1590 per extra millimetre of room you receive. Wow.

With such insane prices going for it, what exactly is new in this new iteration of luxury?

Not much has changed from the original Phantom, with the new Series II receiving fairly minor design updates. The biggest differences are the new polished horizontal chrome bar that runs above the new grille. These elements enable the signature Spirit of Ecstasy emblem to stand out more prominently.

For extra bling, the headlights also feature intricate laser-cut bezel starlights, a complement to the optional Starlight Headliner inside the cabin.

Notice the funky new wheel design? New rims will be offered with the Series II, and customers can also request for darkened trim pieces, much like the Rolls-Royce black badge editions. The areas that can be darkened include the chrome grille surround, black bonnet reins, windscreen surround and side frame finishers.

Inside, the steering wheel has been buffed up slightly, giving it just a tad more thickness. With the incorporation of Rolls-Royce Connected, the Phantom Series II is now much more technologically sophisticated. The infotainment system syncs up the car with Rolls-Royce’s Whispers app, enabling owners to send information like navigation GPS or location information via their smartphones.

Rolls-Royce Connected also actively displays the car’s location, security status and current ‘health’ condition on the Whispers app. Helpful menus allow owners to contact any preferred dealership for any servicing requirements or assistance with the car, with just a touch of a button.

Would you sink that much money into a car like this?
