special edition – AutoApp Dev https://www.autoapp.sg/dev Fri, 16 Aug 2024 09:53:10 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9 Porsche Unveils Special Edition 911 Turbo 50 Years https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=276784 Fri, 16 Aug 2024 09:53:10 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=276784 To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the legendary 911 Turbo, Porsche has unveiled an exclusive anniversary model: the 911 Turbo 50 Years.

This special edition blends unique design elements that evoke the rich history of the 911 Turbo. Limited to just 1,974 units, a nod to the year the first 911 Turbo debuted, this model is built on the last-generation 911 Turbo S.

Back in 1974, Porsche’s Type 930 911 Turbo redefined performance, bringing race-proven turbo technology into a road car.

Fast forward to 2024, and the 911 Turbo 50 Years anniversary model channels this heritage, paying homage to the original.

Its exterior graphics are inspired by the livery of the 1973 Porsche 911 RSR Turbo, a forerunner to the 911 Turbo.

In a first for the 911, the anniversary model introduces Porsche’s exclusive Turbonite colour, featured prominently on the rear engine cover, fuel cap, and Porsche crest, as well as the Turbo 50 badging.

Anthracite Grey accents complete the retro-modern vibe, while a badge on the rear engine grille features a turbocharger icon and the dates 1974–2024. The look is rounded off by 911 Turbo S Exclusive Design wheels in Turbonite.

Inside, the 911 Turbo 50 Years offers a nostalgic nod to the original Turbo models of the 1970s. McKenzie tartan adorns the seat covers and door panels, and the interior also features contrasting Turbonite accents, from the seatbelts to the stitching and controls, ensuring this limited-edition model stands out from the regular 911 Turbo S.

Black brushed aluminium door kick plates illuminate the “Turbo 50” logo, while the Adaptive Sports Seats Plus come emblazoned with the anniversary logo on the headrests.

Above the glovebox, a commemorative plaque bears the limited-edition number of the car. An analog Porsche Design Subsecond clock with Turbo 50 detailing sits on the dashboard.

For those looking to dive even deeper into Porsche’s rich history, the optional 50 Years of Turbo Heritage Design Package adds exclusive design elements.

Available in Aventurine Green Metallic or other classic Porsche colours, this package includes retro-inspired graphics, including the iconic “lollipop” race number, and gold badging on the rear.

Inside, leather appointments and additional tartan accents complement the classic theme, while green instrument dials and the Sport Chrono clock provide a vintage touch. The steering wheel even features the historic Porsche crest from 1964.

The 911 Turbo 50 Years boasts the same specs as the 2019 911 Turbo S. Its 3.7-litre boxer engine delivers a potent 641hp and 800 Nm of torque, hitting the century sprint in just 2.7 seconds.

The 8-speed PDK transmission and active all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management system ensure that all that power is put to good use. Standard features include a sports exhaust system, Porsche Active Suspension Management, and LED matrix headlights.

To further elevate the experience, Porsche Design has crafted an exclusive timepiece for owners of the 911 Turbo 50 Years. This limited-edition chronograph mirrors the car’s design with a black dial and Turbonite accents.

The strap is made from the same black leather as the car’s interior, and the case features an engraving matching the vehicle’s limited-edition number. For those opting for the Heritage Design Package, a special version of the watch is available.

Starting at SGD 1,278,038, the 911 Turbo 50 Years anniversary model is now available for order, with deliveries set to begin in late 2024.

Enthusiasts can get a closer look at this exclusive model at Porsche’s ongoing “Beyond Performance – 50 Years of Porsche Turbo” exhibition in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen.

Land Cruiser 250 Series Launched in Japan https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=274106 Fri, 26 Apr 2024 07:49:20 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=274106 Sales of special edition Land Cruiser 250 ZX “First Edition” and VX “First Edition” limited to 8,000 units.

Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) has announced the addition of the “250” series to the Land Cruiser lineup in Japan. Alongside this, it has also released the special edition models ZX “First Edition” and VX “First Edition.” These special models are limited to a total of 8,000 units.

The all-new “250” series was created with the role and mission of supporting people’s lives by offering ease of handling based on strong off-road performance.

The development team set out to return the Land Cruiser Prado, which shifted toward high-end and luxury over time, to the light-duty model that customers have come to expect.

Under the keyword “back to the basics,” they defined the development concept as “The Land Cruiser: a vehicle that supports customers’ daily lives and one they can trust.”

With the same robust GA-F platform as the “300” series, the “250” series has pursued exceptional off-road performance. It is the first in the Land Cruiser lineup to feature electric power steering (EPS) and a Stabilizer with Disconnection Mechanism (SDM).

EPS reduces kickback during off-road driving, ensuring ease of handling whether on or off-road, while the SDM enables the front stabilizer state to be locked or unlocked at the touch of a button, delivering driving performance and ride comfort when off-road and handling stability when on-road.

The “250” series is available with two types of powertrains: a 2.8-litre direct injection turbodiesel engine with Direct Shift-8AT and a 2.7-litre petrol engine with 6 Super ECT.

The 2.8-litre turbodiesel offers up a maximum of 500Nm of torque from 1,600-2,800rpm, while the 2.7-litre petrol engine puts down 163hp and 246Nm of torque.

Power is sent to all four wheels by a full-time 4WD with TORSEN limited-slip differential (LSD) on the centre differential. The electric rear differential lock provides powerful off-road driving performance on rough roads, while the degree of freedom in front and rear driving torque distribution has been expanded to achieve even greater driving stability.

The “250” series adopts the traditional wheelbase of 2,850mm from the Land Cruiser “80” series with a body size of 4,925mm in length and 1,980mm in width. 408 litres of luggage space is available, and the second and third rows of seats can be folded to liberate more carrying capacity.

The special edition ZX “First Edition” and VX “First Edition,” which were designed with the spirit of returning to the origin of the Land Cruiser, are being sold to commemorate the launch of the “250” series. A total of 8,000 units will be sold.

The ZX “First Edition” is based on the ZX turbodiesel, and includes special equipment such as round Bi-Beam LED headlights, matte black painted aluminium wheels, and 18-inch off-road tyres to emphasize its return to its roots.

The VX “First Edition” is based on the VX petrol and turbodiesel versions, and features an exclusive Sand exterior colour and Dark Chestnut interior colour. Toyota Safety Sense and Toyota Teammate with advanced functions are also available to further enhance safety and security equipment.

To support customers in customizing their Land Cruisers into their own unique vehicles, they can now choose interior and exterior items from both JAOS and Toy-Factory brands in addition to Toyota genuine parts and MODELLISTA parts.
