Stingray – AutoApp Dev https://www.autoapp.sg/dev Wed, 30 Jul 2025 17:13:38 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9 Corvette Stingray Launches In Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=283073 Wed, 30 Jul 2025 17:13:38 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=283073 The Corvette Stingray is now officially available on our shores, thanks to Alpine Motors and General Motors (GM).

If you’ve been craning your neck skywards lately to catch the roar of jet fighters tearing across the National Day parade rehearsals, you’ll want to keep your feet planted firmly on Orchard Road, because something equally dramatic has just landed on four wheels.

The Corvette Stingray is now locally available. Singapore is the first country in the world where the iconic muscle badge now stands alone, untethered from the Chevrolet name.

Parked in full glory at ION Orchard till 3 August 2025, the Stingray is here to make noise.

The C8’s canopy-forward silhouette is a nod to the F-22 and F-35 stealth fighters, and the whole thing looks like it’s ready to taxi out of Changi Airbase rather than squeeze into an HDB lot.

The C8 is also the first Corvette that is mid-engined. With a glass window on the rear deck revealing the 6.2-litre LT2 V8, the Stingray looks every bit the exotic it wants to be.

That 3.2mm-thick panel helps extract heat from the engine bay. Which is helpful, considering the monster beneath is generating 495bhp and 630Nm of torque, enough to catapult the car from zero to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds. Top speed is 312km/h, if you can find a runway long enough.

Power alone doesn’t make a supercar. Fortunately, the Singapore-spec Stingray comes kitted out with the Z51 Performance Package. That includes serious track-ready gear; larger brakes, a performance exhaust, a limited-slip diff, and sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 4S ZP rubber. There’s also a magnetorheological suspension system with adaptive dampers.

Slide inside and the fighter jet fantasy continues. GT2 Nappa leather seats with eight-way power adjustment hold you tight without giving you pins and needles halfway to JB. In front of you is a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, while an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system handles everything from navigation to tunes.

And if you’re tired of listening to that glorious V8, a 14-speaker Bose sound system is on hand.

Thinking of making one yours? Corvette has opened shop at 1 Commonwealth Lane. That’s where you’ll find Alpine Motors, the official distributor, standing by to help you suit up and take the controls. Prices start at $648,000 before COE.

The Corvette Stingray Roars into Singapore https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=282639 Wed, 25 Jun 2025 16:00:00 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=282639 After more than seven decades of sculpting asphalt into ribbons of burnt rubber and bravado, the Corvette Stingray has finally arrived in Singapore.

Since 1953, the Corvette has been the rolling embodiment of American muscle and ambition. A car that grew up alongside rock and roll, drag strips, and Daytona sunsets. It raced at Le Mans, danced through Sebring, and played the national anthem through growling exhaust notes.

Now, Singapore joins this illustrious tale, as the Stingray plants its flag in the tropics for the very first time.

Lift the rear glass hatch and you’ll find the soul of the Stingray: a 6.2-litre V8, naturally aspirated, defiant in an era of forced induction. With 495 horsepower straining at the leash, this mid-engine marvel punches from 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.

The Z51 Performance Package comes standard – track-tuned suspension, larger brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S ZP rubber, and a performance exhaust that lets the neighbours know you’ve arrived.

There’s even a Performance Data Recorder that logs everything from lap times to throttle inputs, perfect for when you’re chasing tenths or simply bragging rights.

Visually, the Corvette Stingray looks like it belongs on a carrier deck more than in a carpark. The silhouette is sharp, hunkered down low, with a canopy-forward stance inspired by F-22 and F-35 fighter jets. Every vent, angle, and crease serves the greater purpose of speed, stability, and high-speed poise.

Step inside and the fighter pilot fantasy continues. The cockpit cocoons the driver in hand-wrapped leather, with thick-stitched detailing and a swathe of premium materials. The Bose Performance Series audio system comes standard, but you’ll mostly be listening to that glorious V8 soundtrack.

Practicality? Surprisingly, yes. Two trunks with space for luggage or a couple of golf bags, a front suspension lift system for clearing pesky kerbs, and even integrated front cameras so you don’t scuff that chiselled chin.

The Corvette chapter in Singapore will be written from 1 Commonwealth Lane, where a new flagship showroom opens its doors on 28 July 2025. But for those who can’t wait to get a glimpse, a pop-up display at ION Orchard (Level 1 Atrium) runs from 28 July to 3 August.

With only a limited number of units expected, the Corvette Stingray won’t be a common sight. But that’s the point, isn’t it?
