Each colourway is limited to 911 units, to honor the 50th anniversary of the first 911 Turbo.

Each design draws from the iconic elements that have made Porsche models legendary. The “Turbo No. 1” sneaker is inspired by the Porsche gifted to Louise Piëch on her 70th birthday, or the “Turbo 930” is a tribute to Dr. Ferry Porsche’s personal 1976 911 Turbo.

For the Asia Pacific region, Porsche has chosen a striking Polar Blue colourway.

The sneaker’s design is packed with nods to the iconic 911 Turbo. Vintage turbo lettering and a discreet Porsche logo adorn the exterior.

The heel, reminiscent of the 911 Turbo’s famous “whale tail” spoiler and horizontal red tail lights, carries a tonal Porsche Crest in 3D print.

Up front, a removable plaque celebrates the 50th anniversary, adding a touch of customisation to the lacing. Puma’s new “Road Rider” silhouette, inspired by motorsport, serves as the foundation for all the models in this collection.

Beyond these special editions, Porsche has crafted ten additional designs tailored to different markets around the globe.

These designs feature one of thirty original Porsche colours from the mid-1970s, offering a nostalgic yet stylish tribute to the cars that defined an era.

Celebrating 50 Years of Porsche Turbo https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=276661 Mon, 05 Aug 2024 14:34:26 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=276661 Porsche has a storied history with its Turbo models, blending decades of racing triumphs with everyday usability.

Now, Porsche is inviting fans to a special exhibition, “Beyond Performance. 50 Years of Porsche Turbo,” at the Porsche Museum, running until 12 January 2025.

“In this special exhibition, we’re giving the ‘Turbo feeling’ a face, across all model lines,” says curator Iris Haker. “When you speak of Turbo, you mean Porsche.” The exhibition is a treasure trove of never-before-seen cars and smaller exhibits that highlight the essence of Turbo.

Technology enthusiasts will be thrilled by the cutaway models showcasing Turbo technology; a 13-metre-long display case filled with technical exhibits, drawings, and photographs takes visitors through the evolution of turbocharging.

As you wander through the exhibit, you’ll encounter some iconic models. One standout is the first 911 Turbo, a special gift to Louise Piëch on her 70th birthday in 1974.

This unique car featured a narrow body and a 2.7-litre engine, distinctively branded with “Carrera” instead of “turbo.” The car boasted an extravagant rear wing and a personalised badge on the glove compartment.

Another head-turner is the 992-generation 911 Turbo, a collaborative effort between Porsche and aircraft manufacturer Embraer. The 911 Turbo S ‘Duet’ from 2020 features a silver two-tone finish, designed to match the Phenom 300E business jet.

The special exhibition also showcases Turbonite threads through the display, tying together themes like ‘The Turbo Principle,’ ‘Beyond Turbo,’ and ‘Motorsport.’ The epilogue brings heritage and innovation face-to-face, showcasing a 1976 Porsche 911 that belonged to Ferry Porsche alongside a 911 Turbo LEGO Big Brick anniversary car.

Even kids get to join the fun with the “Tina and the Turbo Secret” digital learning adventure. Young visitors can follow the Porsche 4Kids mascot Tina Turbo through a multimedia guide, uncovering the origins of the Turbo name and discovering quirky Turbo cars.

The guide is available in multiple languages and is included in the entry fee. The Porsche 4Kids area also features a LEGO 911 Turbo, sound showers, and interactive activities that make learning about Turbo a blast.

Sounds like a family outing waiting to happen, right?

Snag These Limited Edition Puma x Porsche Sneakers While You Can https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=273121 Mon, 25 Mar 2024 14:47:08 +0000 https://www.autoapp.sg/?p=273121  These limited edition Puma x Porsche sneakers commemorate 50 years of the Porsche 911 Turbo.

This year marks a momentous occasion for automotive enthusiasts worldwide as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Porsche 911 Turbo. Long been a symbol of luxury and performance, the 911 captured the hearts of drivers the world over.

To commemorate this milestone, Puma and Porsche Legacy proudly present the Puma x Porsche Legacy collection, a special edition collaboration that pays homage to the timeless legacy of the 911 Turbo.

Back in 1974, Porsche made automotive history by introducing one of the first turbocharged engines in a production sports car. The 911 Turbo set a new standard for high-performance vehicles, combining luxury, everyday usability, and exhilarating performance.

To bring a unique Singaporean touch to this collaboration, Mandeep Chopra, founder of Limited Edt, a renowned Singaporean footwear retailer, has reimagined the Puma x Porsche Legacy Suede Torque.

Inspired by Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim, Chopra’s design symbolizes Singapore’s uniqueness, diverse culture, and timeless appeal, much like the Porsche 911 Turbo itself.

The Vanda Miss Joaquim motif, deeply rooted in Limited Edt’s identity, adds a subtle yet distinctive embellishment to the shoe, blending seamlessly with the sleek design of the Porsche Legacy Suede Torque sneaker.

Each pair of sneakers comes in a meticulously crafted shoe box featuring the elegant Vanda Miss Joaquim motif and the iconic ‘1974’ graphic, commemorating the year the Porsche 911 Turbo was unveiled at the Paris Fashion Show.

Eleanor Wang, Director of Marketing, SEA at Puma, expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Puma is thrilled to partner with Porsche Legacy to celebrate the golden jubilee of the legendary Porsche 911 Turbo.”

“The incorporation of Singaporean inspiration, as seen in the Vanda Miss Joaquim motif, adds a unique touch that resonates with both local and global enthusiasts.”

With limited pairs available, including 74 pairs of Sport Yellow Suede and 119 pairs of Alpine Snow Suede, each sneaker is individually numbered.

The Singapore-exclusive Puma x Porsche Legacy collection is now available for pre-order at the Porsche Singapore online store and on Limited Edt, priced at S$169.

Porsche sharpens looks of its Turbo cars https://www.autoapp.sg/dev/?p=270255 Mon, 04 Dec 2023 08:34:37 +0000 https://autoapp.sg/?p=270255 For almost 50 years, the Turbo models have enjoyed an exalted position at Porsche. And now, they are due for an upgrade.

The ‘Turbo’ designation stands for high performance and represents the epitome of every model series. To emphasise their uniqueness, Porsche is once again sharpening their look.

The Turbo models are, for one, being given a particularly exclusive version of the modernized crest, which is dominated by the new Turbonite colour tone instead of gold. The designers developed this elegant metallic grey tone specially for the Turbo.

It is also being used on several other selected exterior and interior components, lending the Turbo models an even more distinct appearance.

Porsche will be successively introducing this more marked differentiation to all model series, starting with the new Panamera generation that celebrated its world premiere on 24 November 2023.

“In 1974, we presented the first turbocharged 911. Since then, the Turbo has become a synonym for our high-performance top models and is now more or less a brand of its own. We now want to make the Turbo even more visible, and differentiate it more markedly from other derivatives such as the GTS,” explains Michael Mauer, Vice President, Style Porsche.

“This is why we’ve developed a distinctive Turbo aesthetic. From now on, the Turbo versions will exhibit a consistent appearance across all model series – one that is elegant, high-quality and very special.”

The new Turbonite metallic tone is exclusively reserved for the Turbo models. This was very carefully composed by the Porsche Colour & Trim experts. Gold elements create an elegant, metallising effect, with the top layer in a contrasting satin finish.

The lettering on the rear and the Daylight Opening (DLO), as well as the borders of the side windows, will be given a Turbonite finish in the Turbo models in future.

Depending on the model series, further details such as the inlays in the front aprons, the spokes, or the aero blades in the light alloy wheels could feature Turbonite paintwork. All of the top high-performance models will soon feature the crest on their front, as well as on the light alloy wheels and the steering wheel.

Additionally, selected components in the interior, such as the trim strips and the belt straps, as well as several controls such as the mode switch and the air conditioning control panel, will also come in Turbonite.

In combination with a black interior, Turbonite is also being used as a contrasting colour for the yarn on the seats, the door panel trims, instrument panels and floor mats.
