Inchcape+ and BYD have partnered together to place an order of 100 T9R electric heavy-duty commercial trucks.
That’s the largest single order of such vehicles in Singapore, all set to hit the roads in 2025.
The BYD T9R offers a driving range of up to 320km, all while being powered by BYD’s Blade Battery technology. It can be retrofitted to haul waste, manage construction loads, or navigate Singapore’s dense urban logistics network.
Flanked by industry heavyweights at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, the ceremony saw the formalisation of a new partnership. It was officiated by Li Zhengxi, Director of Commercial Vehicles at Inchcape Singapore, and James Ng, Managing Director of BYD Singapore and Philippines.
The ceremony was also witnessed by Tian Chunlong, General Manager of BYD Commercial Vehicle Division and Ng Kee Siong, Managing Director of Inchcape Singapore.
“This milestone order signifies a major achievement in our pursuit of sustainable commercial mobility and reinforces our commitment to pioneering green energy solutions,” said Li Zhengxi, Director of Commercial Vehicles at Inchcape Singapore.
Meanwhile, James Ng, Managing Director of BYD Singapore and Philippines, hailed the deal as a “bold step toward a sustainable revolution in commercial transportation.”
With a design that adheres to top-notch safety standards and reduces environmental impact, the T9R is poised to redefine what we expect from commercial vehicles. Singapore is no stranger to ambitious sustainability targets, and this partnership is a nod to what can be achieved when industry leaders align with national goals.
