Mercedes-Benz EV drivers can now access more than 12,000 charging points across Singapore and Malaysia through a single account, as MB.CHARGE Public expands across the Causeway.
Driving an electric vehicle to Malaysia is no longer the adventure it once was. Charging networks have expanded, highway chargers have become easier to find, and the idea of taking an EV from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur no longer requires the sort of meticulous route planning normally associated with crossing a desert.
There is, however, still the matter of the apps. One charging operator might require its own account. Another wants a different app. A third has its own payment system. Before long, your phone contains an entire folder dedicated to the simple act of putting electricity into a car.
Mercedes-Benz Singapore is attempting to make that process considerably tidier with its MB.CHARGE Public service has now expanded into Malaysia, giving Mercedes-Benz EV owners access to more than 12,000 charging points across Singapore and Malaysia through a single account.
Eleven charge point operators (CPOs) across the two countries have been brought together under the platform, with pricing, billing and cashless payments handled through the Mercedes-Benz ecosystem.
MB.CHARGE Public is available across all Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles and selected plug-in hybrid models. In Singapore, that includes CDG ENERGY, SP Group, Charge+ and Volt.
Cross the border and the Malaysian network adds CarputZap, Charge+, ChargeSini, chargEV, DC Handal, Gentari and JomCharge.

The scale of MB.CHARGE Public has grown considerably since it was introduced here.
Mercedes-Benz says the Singapore network initially comprised approximately 3,000 charging points. It has since expanded to more than 9,000, with the addition of Malaysian operators pushing the combined Singapore-Malaysia network beyond 12,000 points.
Mercedes-Benz has also integrated the charging experience directly into MBUX, its in-car infotainment system, as well as the Mercedes-Benz App. After a one-time registration, drivers can search for nearby charging stations, check real-time availability and see estimated charging costs before plugging in.
The system calculates the estimate using the vehicle’s existing battery level, the desired state of charge and the tariff charged by the respective operator. It then displays the precise rate – whether calculated per kilowatt-hour or per minute – alongside an estimated total cost for reaching the driver’s selected charge level.
Once a charging station has been selected, navigation can be sent directly to the vehicle. Billing and cashless payment are subsequently handled automatically through the app.
With more than 12,000 charging points now sitting behind a single Mercedes-Benz account across Singapore and Malaysia, charging has just become considerably simpler.
