Mercedes-Benz Singapore Unveils First-of-Its-Kind ‘Mercedes me Charge’ EV Charging Network

For years, one of the biggest hurdles in electric vehicle (EV) adoption has been the lack of charging convenience, but Mercedes-Benz Singapore is taking a bold step to change that.


Introducing Mercedes me Charge, a first-of-its-kind EV charging solution that grants Mercedes-Benz owners seamless access to over 3,000 charging points islandwide. Developed in partnership with SP Group, Charge+, and Volt, this initiative covers 49% of all public charging points in Singapore, including a dominant 77% of all DC fast chargers.   

One of the biggest frustrations for EV owners today is having to juggle multiple charging accounts; different apps, different payment methods, and different charging rates depending on the operator.  

Mercedes me Charge solves this problem at the source. With a single, unified account, drivers can tap into an extensive charging network without the hassle of managing multiple subscriptions. Payments are automated, billing is transparent, and real-time navigation guides drivers to the nearest available charging station.

Beyond just offering a wider charging network, Mercedes me Charge introduces a suite of innovative features designed to simplify and enhance the EV ownership experience:  

  1. Single-App Integration  

With the Mercedes-Benz App, users can simply scan a QR code at any partner charging station to start charging. This eliminates the need for multiple operator accounts, streamlining payments and transactions through one platform.  

  1. Transparent Pricing & Cashless Billing  

Charging costs are calculated dynamically based on the vehicle’s current battery state, providing an accurate estimate before charging begins. Billing is automated, with all transactions accessible via the Mercedes-Benz Customer Portal.

  1. Smart Navigation & Charging Station Locator  

Using the MBUX infotainment system or the Mercedes-Benz App, drivers can search for public charging stations nearby, check station availability and pricing in real-time, and plan routes that include charging stops using the “Send to Car” function  

  1. Pre-Entry Climate Control  

Drivers can pre-set their preferred cabin temperature via the Mercedes-Benz App while the car is charging, ensuring a comfortable ride from the moment they step in.  

  1. Multi-Operator Compatibility  

Mercedes me Charge seamlessly integrates with SP Group, Charge+, and Volt, covering some of Singapore’s most strategically located charging points—from shopping malls to office buildings and residential areas.

Globally, Mercedes me Charge connects users to over 2 million charging points across 35 countries, making it one of the largest EV charging networks in the world. Mercedes-Benz is already working with Hubject, a leading e-mobility solutions provider, to expand charging options across the region.  

“This initiative will not only benefit Singaporean drivers but also pave the way for seamless cross-border electric travel,” said Ng.

With Singapore acting as a testbed for new EV technologies, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Mercedes me Charge extend beyond city limits in the near future.
