Porsche and Charge+ are gearing up to electrify Vietnam’s EV landscape with the establishment of 17 DC ultra-fast charging sites.
Scheduled to roll out in phases until mid-2027, this initiative aims to complement Porsche’s existing high-performance charging networks in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, ensuring seamless and efficient EV journeys with exclusive perks for Porsche EV owners.
Hot on the heels of announcing the all-electric Macan and the revamped Taycan, Porsche is now setting its sights on Vietnam. In collaboration with Charge+, a leading EV charging solution provider in Southeast Asia, Porsche is laying down the groundwork for a new ultra-fast charging network across the country.
Over the next three years, 17 charging sites will be established nationwide. The first nine sites, boasting charging speeds of up to 180 kW, will be operational by mid-2025. These will be strategically located in bustling cities like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, as well as key mid-journey stops such as Ninh Binh, Phan Thiet, and Bao Loc.
Existing chargers at Porsche Studio Hanoi and Porsche Centre Saigon already offer up to 350 kW of high-performance charging, and these will be integrated into the Charge+ app.
The remaining eight sites are set to be completed by mid-2027, reaching locations like Thanh Hoa and Quy Nhon. This partnership also hints at potential future expansions based on demand and other factors.
Once complete, this network will be a game-changer for Vietnam’s EV infrastructure, making long-distance EV travel more convenient and accessible. New Porsche EV owners can look forward to special benefits like preferential charging rates, with more perks to be announced soon.
The launch ceremony for this groundbreaking project was held at Porsche Studio Hanoi. Dr Henrik Dreier, Director of New Business Fields at Porsche Asia Pacific, Andreas Klingler, General Director of Porsche Vietnam, and Goh Chee Kiong, CEO of Charge+, commemorated the launch with a signing ceremony.
Dr Henrik Dreier shared his excitement about the project, stating, “We are immensely proud to spearhead the development of charging infrastructure in Southeast Asia. Our partnership with Charge+ in Vietnam reflects our continuous commitment to delivering exceptional mobility solutions and driving sustainable progress in the region.”
Andreas Klingler added, “At Porsche Vietnam, our customers are at the centre of our strategy. By establishing this new ultra-fast charging network with our partners, we aim to unlock the possibility of fuss-free nationwide EV journeys for our customers, while also providing high levels of service and convenient charging solutions.”
Goh Chee Kiong, CEO of Charge+, echoed this sentiment, saying, “We are thrilled to partner with Porsche, a visionary pioneer in EVs, to enhance the EV charging experience in Vietnam. This new charging backbone will boost confidence in long-distance driving and accelerate the EV transition in Vietnam.”
This collaboration between Porsche and Charge+ is set to transform Vietnam’s EV landscape, making long-distance EV travel not just feasible but enjoyable.
