A hybrid heart brings the Toyota Vios into the future without asking drivers to change their routine.
Introduced through Borneo Motors Singapore, the model marks the first time the Vios has been offered here as a self-charging full hybrid. Rather than positioning it as a bold technological leap, Toyota frames the car as something more practical: an easy entry point into electrified driving that does not demand behavioural changes from the driver.
At its core, the Vios remains a compact sedan built for everyday urban use. What has changed is what lies beneath. Toyota’s established hybrid system now handles propulsion duties, delivering improved fuel efficiency and lower running costs without the need for external charging.
“This car is about making everyday driving smarter and more economical. By pairing Toyota’s established hybrid system with practical safety features and a refreshed design, the Vios becomes an easy, reassuring choice for daily use.”

Designed For City Driving
The Vios Full Hybrid is powered by a 1.5-litre self-charging hybrid system tuned for stop-start traffic. The system automatically switches between petrol and electric power, aiming to smooth out low-speed driving while keeping fuel consumption low.
Toyota claims a fuel efficiency figure of 27.0 km/litre, with a potential driving range of up to 972 km on a full tank. No driver intervention is required; the car operates like a conventional petrol vehicle, with the hybrid system working quietly in the background.
Focused On Everyday Value
Positioned as Toyota’s most accessible hybrid sedan, the Vios Full Hybrid prioritises usability over visual drama. Its compact footprint suits Singapore’s narrow roads and tight parking spaces, while still offering the comfort and reliability associated with the brand.
The interior reflects the same approach. Passenger space is adequate for daily use, while the 460-litre boot provides room for groceries or weekend luggage. Storage spaces are placed where they are most likely to be used, reinforcing the car’s practical focus.
Subtle Exterior Updates

Visually, the Vios has received a restrained update. Slimmer LED headlamps, a revised front bumper and cleaner body lines give the car a more contemporary look. A longer wheelbase improves overall proportions, while a fastback-inspired profile adds a slightly sportier stance.
The design avoids aggressive styling cues, favouring a look that is likely to remain current over time.
Cabin Layout And Technology

Inside, the dashboard adopts a slim, horizontal layout with padded materials and a driver-focused arrangement. A 10.1-inch infotainment screen sits at the centre, offering four selectable display themes. Wireless charging and multiple USB ports are also included.
Ambient lighting with 64 colour options adds a degree of visual interest, particularly during night driving. Practical touches such as stowable cup holders and rear bottle holders are retained, underscoring the emphasis on day-to-day usability.
Driver Assistance And Safety
The Vios Full Hybrid comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, a suite of driver assistance features designed to support the driver without becoming intrusive.
These include:
- Pre-Collision System
- Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
- Lane Tracing Assist
- Lane Departure Alert
- A 360-degree camera assists with parking
- Pedal Misoperation Control
- Front Departure Alert
Drivers can select from three drive modes: ECO, Normal and PWR. These adjust throttle response to suit traffic conditions or personal preference. Combined with a tight turning radius and improved acceleration response, the Vios remains well-suited to city environments.
A Measured Step Forward

With its focus on efficiency, practicality and ease of use, the Toyota Vios Full Hybrid positions itself as a sensible progression rather than a radical departure.
For drivers looking to reduce fuel consumption without changing driving habits, it presents a straightforward option. The Vios Full Hybrid is now available for viewing and test drives at Toyota showrooms in Ubi and Leng Kee.
