Singapore’s motoring future is changing, and for many drivers, the big question is no longer simply “petrol or electric?” It is now hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or fully electric?

With Singapore moving towards cleaner-energy vehicles, drivers are being encouraged to think more carefully about what they drive next. From 2030, all new car registrations in Singapore will have to be cleaner-energy models, including electric, hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell cars.
That sounds straightforward enough, until you start shopping for a car.

Do you go straight into a Battery Electric Vehicle? Is a self-charging hybrid still relevant? What is the difference between a mild hybrid and a full hybrid? Do you need a charger at home? What happens if you stay in an HDB estate? And are EVs really practical for daily driving in Singapore?
To help drivers make sense of it all, AutoApp will be joining Borneo Motors for a special customer workshop titled:

One Future, Many Roads: Choosing the Right Electrified Drive for a Greener Singapore
Held on Saturday, 1 August, the workshop is designed as a practical, easy-to-understand session for drivers who want to better understand Singapore’s cleaner-energy future and how different electrified drivetrains may suit different lifestyles.
The session will cover the Singapore Green Plan, the differences between HEVs, PHEVs and BEVs, and why there is no single answer that fits every driver.
For some, a full electric vehicle may make perfect sense. For others, a hybrid may still be the more convenient, familiar and practical step forward. The point is choice, because cleaner driving should fit real lives, real routines and real needs.

Toyota has long championed a multi-pathway approach to electrification, offering different solutions for different drivers, markets and lifestyles. This is also why the brand’s move into electric vehicles carries a certain weight. For many buyers, Toyota represents stability, reliability and long-term peace of mind, qualities that matter even more when considering a new technology like long-term BEV ownership.

With the arrival of the Toyota bZ4X, the brand’s 100% electric SUV, Toyota customers now have another route into electrified motoring. It gives EV-curious drivers the chance to explore full-electric driving with the confidence that comes from choosing a brand that has built its reputation on dependability, practical engineering, and everyday usability.

The workshop will also include a closer look at BEV ownership, common questions from early adopters, charging habits, driving range, and how electrified vehicles fit into everyday life in Singapore.
Participants will also have the opportunity to experience Toyota’s electrified drive firsthand through a test-drive session after the workshop.
Spaces are limited to keep the sessions personal and interactive, with each group capped at around 16 participants.
