BYD has pulled the wraps off the Atto 1, the brand’s smallest model yet for Singapore, targeted at customers looking for an easy-to-drive small electric city car.
BYD has introduced its smallest model yet for Singapore, with the launch of the Atto 1 taking place on 9 September at Zouk Singapore.
The Atto 1 is a small electric hatchback that’s aimed at drivers looking for an easy-to-drive city car, with its compact dimensions making it perfect for Singapore’s urban confines. The car measures in at just slightly under 4 metres long, with a manageable 1,720mm width and 2,500mm wheelbase.
Together with its tight 9.9 metre turning circle, the Atto 1 promises to be highly nimble and manoeuvrable on our congested streets and narrow carparks.
The car is driven by a single electric motor that produces 65kW/87bhp and 175Nm of torque, sent to the front wheels, and powered by a 43.2kWh battery. BYD claims that this gives the Atto 1 a driving range of up to 322km when fully charged, and an efficiency figure of 6.4km/kWh.
Given the relatively small battery size, charging times for the Atto 1 is also relatively short compared to most other EVs out there. On an 11kW AC charger, the car can be fully recharged in slightly over four and half hours. It can also accept DC charging at speeds of up to 85kW, and in this case it takes just half an hour to charge the battery completely.
There is also Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality that allows the car to power compatible external appliances, along with a whole host of other driver assistance and safety features, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Assist and Lane Keeping Control.
The 10.1-inch central infotainment touchscreen also offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, while customers can also have access to BYD’s smartphone app that they can use as an NFC key for their cars.
Just one variant of the Atto 1 is available in Singapore, with pricing starting from $169,888 with COE based on the latest COE prices in September 2026.
