ACOTY 2025 – Overall Best Performance Car

Five winners from Round 1 face off for the title of Overall Best Performance Car.

How Does ACOTY Define This Class?

Five winners from Round 1 that possess sports-car-like qualities or are performance-oriented are shortlisted, and the winner will be decided from amongst these candidates.

Meet The Contenders

Mercedes-Benz CLE200

The Mercedes-Benz CLE200 beat out the Porsche Boxster, Lotus Emira, Subaru BRZ and Volkswagen Golf R to win Best Sports Car.

As an all-rounder package, the CLE ticks all of the right boxes to achieve victory.

Maserati Granturismo

The Maserati Granturismo scored better than the Mercedes-Benz SL43 and Porsche Cayman GTS to win Best Premium Sports Car.

This new generation Italian is a huge improvement over its predecessor, and represents a new shift in dynamics for the brand. Fantastic.

Porsche 911 Carrera T

The Porsche 911 Carrera T won against the Lamborghini Huracan STO to win Best Supercar.

Agile, practical, and stylish. The 911 needs no introduction, and the Carrera T is arguably one of the best variants you can buy.

Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan fought hard against the Lotus Emeya, Polestar 2, Polestar 4 and Audi SQ8 e-tron to win Best Performance EV.

You can’t beat the king, and that king is the Taycan. It is simple exhilarating to drive, and truly showcases what true performance EVs are capable of pushing.

Tesla Model 3 Performance

The Tesla Model 3 Performance flashed past the BYD Seal to win Best Value Performance EV.

Arguably, it is still the benchmark for EV performance. While the stark cabin might not be as big of a hit, the Model 3 is fantastic dynamically.

So who won?

Performance is key here, and we are making it the main metric for this selection.

Where the points tally in Round 1 was the final determinant of each category’s winner, here in Round 2, points are taken into consideration but are not the final arbiter of victory.
