The third-generation version of the Audi Q5 and Q5 Sportback SUV have now arrived in Singapore.
Audi has launched the new Q5 and Q5 Sportback in Singapore, and the latest third-generation version makes a major transformation for the brand’s best-selling SUV model, being the first SUV to use Audi’s new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture.
“The Q5 has been the best-selling SUV model in Audi’s product line-up globally since its introduction in 2008, and this latest generation elevates the model to new heights”, said Martin Bayer, Managing Director of Audi Singapore.
The new Q5 features a progressive and more futuristic design, with its large and imposing grille complemented by slim Matrix LED headlights. The result is a car that evokes plenty of style, and yet retains the distinctively Audi design language.
The Q5 Sportback, meanwhile, features a sleek coupe-like roofline for a sportier stance, without compromising on practicality. The styling is enhanced by the functional vertical air curtains on the bumper, which further accentuate the car’s dynamism.
On the inside, the Q5 comes with the now-familiar curved display that has already been seen on the new A5, A6 and Q6 e-tron models. In the Q5 this consists of the 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit driver instrument display, and the 14.5-inch infotainment display that’s curved towards the driver.
There is also the option to add a third screen, a 10.9-inch display for the front passenger, for added cost, although this feature is standard on the SQ5 and SQ5 Sportback models.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with mild hybrid technology, and output is rated at 201bhp and 340Nm of torque. In standard front-wheel-drive guise, the car goes from 0-100km/h in 8.6 seconds, while the quattro equipped models can hit the century sprint in 7.2 seconds.
The SQ5 models though get a 3.0-litre V6 that produces 362bhp and 550Nm of torque, and can hit 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
At launch, the Q5 is available in three models, spread across seven variants, namely as follows:
Q5 advanced – $347,999 with COE
Q5 S Line quattro – $369,999 with COE
Q5 edition 1 quattro – $384,999 with COE
Q5 Sportback S Line quattro – $380,999 with COE
Q5 Sportback edition 1 quattro – $395,999 with COE
SQ5 – $460,999 with COE
SQ5 Sportback – $470,999 with COE
