Check out the Hyptec SSR in person at GAC’s showroom

Hyptec SSR

The Hyptec SSR supercar is in town, and you can catch a glance at GAC’s showroom at 24 Leng Kee Road.

The 2026 Singapore Motorshow featured several eye-catching cars that generated plenty of buzz, but one of them has decided to extend its stay in the Lion City.

The Hyptec SSR will be on display at GAC’s showroom, located at 24 Leng Kee Road, starting from 17 January. Vincar Group, the official distributor for GAC here, did not confirm how long the car will stay in Singapore, only saying that it is in town for a ‘limited time’, but we understand that it is likely to be here until the end of the month.

Hyptec SSR

“As Singapore’s electric mobility scene continues to evolve, there is growing interest not just in adoption, but in performance, technology, and design. The Hyptec SSR raises the bar by showcasing how far advanced electric engineering can be pushed, offering a glimpse into the future of high-performance EVs.”

Ernest Tan, Deputy CEO of Vincar Group

The SSR is built on the same platform architecture as Hyptec’s other cars, including the distinctive Hyptec HT electric SUV. Its sleek “wind-suction” design has been developed through extensive wind tunnel simulations, and uses both active and passive aerodynamic elements to improve high-speed stability on track.

Carbon fibre features extensively throughout the SSR’s construction, including in its core structure and body panels, helping it to achieve exceptional body rigidity while keeping its weight down.

The car’s battery too has been engineered for high performance, with the Magazine Battery 2.0 having been designed specifically for track use. It is able to maintain consistent power delivery under demanding performance conditions through the use of advanced thermal control, ensuring strong stability and endurance.

The unit being showcased in Singapore is the SSR Sprint Speed, which comes with a triple-motor all-wheel-drive setup that delivers a whopping 900kW/1,207bhp, sent through a two-speed gearbox, enabling it to go from 0-100km/h in an eye-popping 1.9 seconds.

The SSR is also a Guinness World Record holder, achieving the highest drive speed by a pure electric car at 213.523km/h while maintaining a 30-degree drift angle for over 50 metres.

Hyptec SSR

There are currently no firm plans to offer the Hyptec SSR for sale in Singapore, so those who are interested in taking a closer look at this record-breaking wonder should head down to the GAC showroom while it is still around.
