Denza has launched its B5 luxury plug-in hybrid SUV in Singapore, with a special launch pricing of $348,888 with COE.
BYD’s premium brand Denza has launched its second model for Singapore, and the B5 is a plug-in hybrid SUV that boasts rugged styling, advanced off-road capabilities, luxurious features and impressive performance.
The car was unveiled at Mett Singapore at Fort Canning Park, which also marked the start of a new collaboration between the hotel and Denza, which will see privileges extended to owners, such as preferential rates for stays and curated experiences, among other perks.

Back to the car, and the B5, also known as the Fangchengbao 5 in China, is a Land Rover Defender-esque SUV with full body-on-frame construction that is capable of tackling the rough stuff, as evidenced by the car climbing a steep ramp during the unveiling.
It boasts an intelligent all-wheel-drive system with front and rear electronic differential locks, giving it maximum traction and control and allowing it to adapt to any kind of terrain or road surface. There are also 16 selectable drive modes, including one called Compass Turn which lets the car perform a full rotation on the spot.
The B5’s chunky and angular styling asserts its off-road credentials, and the sizeable dimensions, measuring in at 4,888mm long, 1,970mm wide and 1,920mm tall, allows it to strike an imposing presence on the roads.

Inside, the B5 is packed to the brim with high-end features. There are the usual screens, consisting of the 12.3-inch 3D driver’s instrument cluster and the 15.6-inch high definition infotainment touchscreen. Other luxuries in the cabin include a 16-speaker Devialet audio system, 50-watt wireless phone chargers and a built-in fridge.
Powering the B5 is a plug-in powertrain that consists of a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and two electric motors, and they combine to produce a total of 570bhp and 760Nm of torque. Despite weighing nearly 3 tons, the immense power output enables the B5 to go from 0-100km/h in just 4.8 seconds.
The electric motors are powered by BYD’s 31.8kWh Blade battery, and it allows the B5 to travel on pure electric mode for a range of up to 90km. In total, Denza claims that the B5 is capable of travelling up to 850km with both petrol and electric power combined. The batteries can be charged at a maximum rate of 11kW on AC power, or 100kW on DC power.
The Denza B5 was announced with a price tag of $368,888 with COE, but early bird buyers can enjoy a $20,000 discount that drops the price to $348,888 with COE. The offer is valid for a limited time only, but Denza did not reveal how long the promotional price will be in place until.
