FedEx and QuikBot Redefine the Last Mile in Singapore

Fedex and QuikBot

FedEx has teamed up with local tech outfit QuikBot to give last-mile logistics a futuristic glow-up in Singapore.

Now fully operational, these autonomous robots are making real-world deliveries floor-to-floor, autonomously navigating through lifts and corridors in a bid to bring unparalleled efficiency to urban logistics.

FedEx couriers drop parcels at QuikBot’s Forward Fulfilment Depot within a building cluster, where they’re verified, loaded into secure ‘QuikBoxes’, and then taken over by the bots.

The real stars of the show? QuikCat and QuikFox, AI-guided robots that handle short- and mid-distance deliveries respectively. The former specialises in floor-hopping within buildings, while the latter zips between buildings, hauling up to three QuikBoxes per trip.

Both run on a seamless Agentic-AI system that transitions effortlessly between indoor and outdoor environments, working their magic within a 1.5km radius.

“Delivering in dense urban environments like Singapore requires fresh perspectives and cutting-edge technology,” said Eric Tan, Managing Director of FedEx Singapore. “Our collaboration with QuikBot embodies FedEx’s commitment to revolutionising urban logistics through automation and data-driven insights. It is empowering us to scale efficiently, and build a more agile, sustainable and future-ready network that exceeds customer expectations.”

By cutting out the downtime and doing away with the need for human couriers to navigate every last security checkpoint and lift queue, FedEx and QuikBot are helping reduce emissions and optimise manpower, all while pushing the envelope on ESG goals.

Alan Ng, Founder and CEO of QuikBot Technologies, added, “Last-mile logistics is one of the most expensive and inefficient segments in the supply chain. Our Autonomous Final-Mile Delivery Platform-as-a-Service tackles this head-on. This collaboration demonstrates how cross-sector innovation can reshape the very foundation of logistics for the cities of tomorrow.”

Labour shortages, rising delivery expectations, and the carbon footprint of urban logistics are pressure points every modern city is grappling with. The solution? In QuikBot’s vision, it’s a symphony of robotics, 5G, AI, and IoT, a harmony that turns complexity into clockwork.
