Chua Xing Han emerged as the winner of the Bridgestone Rivals racing simulator competition in Singapore, a high-octane contest that attracted virtual racers from around the globe. Presented by Bridgestone and Forza Motorsport, the competition, titled “Race to the Top,” was an exclusive time attack event that tested drivers’ skills, precision, and endurance on the virtual racetrack.
The race required participants to pilot a Lamborghini Huracán STO around the fictional Hakone Grand Prix, a track inspired by the challenging landscapes of Japan’s Lake Ashi. The course featured a combination of flat-out speeds on long straights, wide sweeping turns, and a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji, making it a test of both nerve and technical skill.
“Bridgestone is proud to be collaborating with Forza Motorsports in this competition, and we are even more proud that one of the fastest timings have come from Singapore. Xing Han raced, and made it to the top! His impressive lap time was among some of the fastest in Asia Pacific.” Said Lennard Kwek, Head of Marketing & Communications at Bridgestone China, India & Asia Pacific.
Xing Han, a seasoned sim racer from Singapore, clocked the fastest time of 1:18:46, outpacing numerous competitors to secure his victory. For his outstanding performance, he was awarded a Lamborghini Edition SecretLab chair, along with exclusive Bridgestone merchandise.
At a prize-giving ceremony held at the Lamborghini Singapore showroom, Xing Han was also given a thrilling taxi ride in the latest Lamborghini Revuelto, the Italian brand’s flagship V12-powered hybrid supercar that is equipped with Bridgestone POTENZA Sport tyres. The experience allowed him to feel the raw power and agility of a real Lamborghini—an exciting contrast to the virtual experience that had earned him his prize.
Reflecting on the competition, Xing Han shared, “This competition was exceptionally interesting as drivers had access to each other’s timings and data, which allowed me to keep pushing myself to do better. It was a unique challenge that required constant adaptation and a deep understanding of both the car’s dynamics and the track’s intricacies.”
An avid sim racer with over seven years of experience, Xing Han is no stranger to the competitive world of virtual motorsports. “Having a chance to hear an actual Lamborghini was certainly different from hearing it via headphones during my race attempts,” he said, smiling. “This prize-giving ceremony was unlike any I’ve ever experienced. The thrill of sitting in a Lamborghini, hearing its engine roar in real life—it was an incredible reward that added another dimension to my journey as a sim racer.”
With this win, Chua Xing Han has solidified his reputation as one of Singapore’s top virtual racers. His victory in the Bridgestone Rivals competition not only highlights his skill and dedication but also emphasises the growing popularity and recognition of sim racing as a legitimate and thrilling motorsport.
