Skoda Singapore Unveils New Kamiq

Skoda Singapore has just unveiled the refreshed Kamiq.

This updated Kamiq is now powered by a 1.0-litre, 114bhp engine, which means it neatly fits under the Cat A COE category – always a welcome bonus in Singapore’s car market. This little unit punches above its weight with 200Nm of torque, allowing it to zip from 0 to 100 km/h in a respectable 10.2 seconds.

What’s more, this engine is packed with clever tech; variable valve timing on both intake and exhaust, a 350-bar fuel injection system, and a variable geometry turbocharger. All of that is paired with Skoda’s 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Skoda’s given the Kamiq a bit of a makeover; the front grille has been reshaped to stand more upright, giving the car a bolder face. The headlamps are now sleeker, with a more streamlined upper element, and the taillights have had a redesign too.

It’s a subtle evolution, but one that makes the Kamiq look more polished and modern. You’ll get to choose from five stylish colours: Phoenix Orange, Moon White, Graphite Grey, Magic Black, and Race Blue.

The Kamiq’s cabin features the ‘Lodge’ selection, with copper-coloured trim details and ambient lighting. There’s also a leather multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, and the seats are upholstered in a combo of black fabric and Suedia.

Tech-wise, the Kamiq comes with an 8.25-inch infotainment system, complete with wireless Smartlink for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Skoda without some clever practical touches. You’ll find an umbrella tucked neatly into the driver’s door, and a tyre tread depth gauge in the fuel filler cap, which is now made from recycled plastic.
