TotalEnergies has taken a step forward in making sure our engines run cleaner, longer, and smarter.
From its regional headquarters in Singapore, TotalEnergies Marketing Asia-Pacific Middle East has unveiled its new generation of lubricants that meet the latest API SQ and ILSAC GF-7 performance standards, widely regarded as the gold standard for modern engine protection, efficiency, and longevity.
At the heart of this new lineup is a familiar name with newfound credentials: Quartz 9000 Future FGC 5W-30, alongside Quartz 9000 Future GF-7 (0W-20/5W-30) and Quartz 7000 Future GF-7 5W-30.
These lubricants are engineered for today’s engines, the kind that push harder, run hotter, and demand more from every drop of oil coursing through them.
And yet, these new formulations also cater to older engines, striking a fine balance between cutting-edge performance and everyday practicality.
So what does all that mean in plain English? Quite a bit, actually:
- 40% improvement in protection against low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI)
- 20% better timing chain wear protection, crucial for long-haul durability
- 7% increase in piston cleanliness, benchmarked against stringent industry standards
In short, less wear and tear, fewer visits to the workshop, and engines that age more gracefully.

These new GF-7 and API SQ-certified oils offer up to 11% better fuel economy compared to traditional SAE XW-30 standards, and an impressive 16% improvement over XW-20 grades.
Cleaner engines mean cleaner exhausts, too. By reducing harmful deposits and emissions, TotalEnergies’ new range also helps drivers and fleet operators meet increasingly strict environmental regulations, and with a smaller carbon footprint to boot.
“Our new API SQ and ILSAC GF-7 certified lubricants reflect TotalEnergies’ commitment to innovation and quality,” said Vincent Minard, Vice President of Lubricants, Specialties & BtoB at TotalEnergies Marketing Asia-Pacific Middle East.
“We are going beyond them to deliver superior vehicle performance and tangible benefits for our customers. We remain focused on leading the industry with cutting-edge technology, ensuring our products meet the evolving needs of drivers.”
These new oils are blended at five of TotalEnergies’ lubricant plants across Asia Pacific and the Middle East — including its flagship facility right here in Singapore.
The rollout began in April 2025 in South Korea and China, with over 40 markets across Asia Pacific and the Middle East set to receive the products by the end of the year.
