TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) has announced exciting upgrades to the GR86.
Starting from August 1, Toyota dealers across Japan will begin sales. Additionally, TGR has introduced a lottery system for the RZ “Ridge Green Limited” model, a special-edition GR86 featuring the new Ridge Green colour, exclusive bronze wheels, and unique interior embroidery.
Only 200 units will be available, with sales kicking off in October.
The Toyota GR86, developed in collaboration with Subaru, debuted in 2021. Sharing its base with the Subaru BRZ, the GR86 has garnered a loyal following for its intuitive handling, linear response, and exceptional agility.
The latest enhancements to the GR86 are informed by TGR’s extensive motorsports experience. By incorporating feedback from professional racecar drivers who push these cars to their limits in competitive racing environments, TGR has fine-tuned the GR86 to offer an even more engaging driving experience.
Upgrades include improved shock absorber damping, enhanced electric power steering (EPS) control, refined throttle characteristics for manual transmission models, and an expanded engine-speed tolerance range for automatic transmission models. These changes result in better ground contact, more responsive steering, and greater linearity.
