Zeekr 7X Performance Review

If you still think Chinese EVs are all flash and no finesse, the Zeekr 7X Performance will change your mind.

So yes, we have indeed driven many EV SUVs. But the Zeekr 7X is refreshingly different. It looks futuristic, drives with intent and packs enough power to challenge some proper sports SUVs. Yet it retains the brand’s signature maturity and polish that set it apart from many of its rivals.

Looks That Mean Business

The 7X still draws stares, but not for the usual reasons. The styling is clean and confident, with a European-inspired stance that feels more sophisticated than flamboyant. Strong shoulder lines, a taut roof profile and beautifully integrated lighting give it presence without resorting to over-the-top details. It looks more Munich than Mainland, and that’s a compliment. There are small details as well, such as the square-matrix illumination in the front light bar. Really nice.

Power Worthy of the Performance Badge

The numbers are serious. 637 bhp, 710 Nm of torque and a 0-100 km/h time of 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 210 km/h. Instant torque means it surges forward the moment you flex your right foot, yet it never feels unruly. The power delivery is seamless and efficient, with the twin motors working in perfect sync.

Acceleration is relentless but clean. There is no drama, no squirming tyres, just a solid wall of thrust. It feels engineered for confidence rather than chaos, which makes it seriously quick but still easy to drive fast.

Chassis and Ride

Where the Zeekr 7X impresses most is how it manages all that performance while remaining incredibly refined. Ride comfort is high, even on 20-inch Michelin tyres, and body control is well sorted. That said, the suspension is still a little too soft to call it a true sports SUV. It soaks up rough surfaces beautifully but leans slightly under harder cornering.

For everyday driving, that trade-off works in its favour. You get the pace of a performance EV with the comfort of a luxury SUV. In Singapore traffic, that is a perfect combination.

Efficiency That Surprises

For something this powerful, the 7X Performance is remarkably efficient. It uses its energy efficiently, delivering strong range figures even when driven enthusiastically. Zeekr’s power management system ensures that performance does not come at the expense of consumption.

Cabin and Controls

Inside, it feels premium without being excessive. The materials and finishes are first-class, and the control-panel screen is crisp, responsive, and high-resolution. The layout is minimalist but functional, with most controls easily accessible and intuitive.

The 21-speaker in-house audio system fills the cabin with rich, detailed sound. It is another sign that Zeekr has moved from learning to leading, developing its own tech to high standards.

Final Thoughts

The Zeekr 7X Performance is a statement of how far Chinese electric cars have come. It delivers supercar-level acceleration in a package that looks stylish, rides comfortably and feels genuinely premium. The Long Range variant, with a claimed 605 km range, is about 200 bhp less powerful but also SGD 20,000 less. That might be the model to go for.

But if it’s maximum acceleration you want, the Performance offers loads. It may not have the tautness of a pure-bred sports SUV, but for everyday performance and long-haul comfort, it nails the balance. Quick, composed and cleverly efficient, the Zeekr 7X Performance proves that speed and sophistication can indeed go hand in hand.
