Toyota Motor Asia is shining a spotlight on the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games and Asian Para Games, with seven Global Team Toyota Athletes from six Asian markets confirmed to compete.
From Singapore swimmer Toh Wei Soong to Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo, Toyota Motor Asia is supporting seven athletes across the Asian Games and Asian Para Games as it looks to show that mobility can mean more than simply getting from A to B.
The wider message is tied to Toyota’s regional Move Your World initiative, which views mobility not simply as travelling from one place to another, but as providing people with the opportunity to participate, pursue their ambitions and progress.
The seven Global Team Toyota Athletes competing at Aichi-Nagoya 2026 come from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
Indonesia will be represented by para cyclist Muhammad Fadli Imamuddin, while Malaysia’s Muhammad Ammar Aiman Nor Azmi will compete in para athletics.
Singapore’s Toh Wei Soong will compete in para swimming, joined in the pool by Filipino para swimmer Ernie Gawilan.
The Philippines will also be represented by gymnast Carlos Yulo, while Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn competes in badminton and Vietnam’s Lê Văn Công in para powerlifting.
Their disciplines could hardly be more different, but the common thread is movement, both in the literal sporting sense and in the opportunities these athletes have created through their respective careers.
Toyota has supported more than 20 Global Team Toyota Athletes across Asia since 2018, spanning different markets, abilities and sporting disciplines.

For every podium photograph, there are years of training that nobody sees. Injuries happen. Competitions are lost. Careers change direction. In para sport particularly, the journey towards elite competition can involve adapting not only technique, but an athlete’s entire approach to movement.
Toyota says these journeys form an important part of its broader involvement in sport, whether that means athletes finding new sporting pathways, reaching higher levels of competition or using their own experiences to influence the communities around them. That philosophy fits into the company’s Move Your World platform.
The Toyota Group will provide more than 1,900 rental vehicles to transport athletes and officials during the Games. These will be joined by 15 eco-vehicles and more than 100 small mobility units, intended to help people move around the various competition venues.
The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games take place from 19 September to 4 October, followed by the Asian Para Games from 18 to 24 October.
Seven Toyota-supported athletes will arrive with different ambitions, compete in very different arenas and inevitably leave with different results.
