Chinese automotive giant BAIC and its premium electric vehicle brand ARCFOX will make their local debut at the Singapore Motorshow 2027, with Volt Auto Venture appointed as their authorised distributor.
Just when you thought Singapore’s automotive market could not accommodate another Chinese car manufacturer, two more names are preparing to join the party.
BAIC, one of China’s largest automotive groups, and its premium electric vehicle subsidiary ARCFOX will officially enter Singapore in January 2027, making their debut at the Singapore Motorshow.
Both brands will be represented locally by Volt Auto Venture, a subsidiary of Volt Auto Group, which has been appointed their authorised distributor.
Four models have been confirmed for the initial line-up: the BAIC B30e and X55 hybrid SUVs, alongside the fully electric ARCFOX T1 and T5.

While BAIC might be unfamiliar to Singapore motorists, the company is hardly a newcomer to the automotive industry. Established in Beijing in 1958, BAIC is one of China’s five largest automotive groups, with operations spanning more than 130 countries and regions.
The manufacturer played an important role in China’s early automotive development, producing the country’s first passenger saloon and pioneering its four-wheel-drive segment with the B212 utility vehicle.
BAIC operates manufacturing joint ventures with Hyundai and Mercedes-Benz, and is also the largest individual shareholder in Mercedes-Benz Group.

BAIC and ARCFOX will approach the Singapore market from different directions. BAIC draws upon its established reputation for rugged SUVs and off-road vehicles, with the B30e and X55 introducing hybrid technology to its local offering.
ARCFOX, meanwhile, targets motorists seeking a more contemporary electric driving experience. Established in 2017, the premium EV brand develops its vehicles in collaboration with European automotive engineering specialist MAGNA, with production taking place at a smart manufacturing facility in Zhenjiang, China.
The ARCFOX T1 and T5 will spearhead the brand’s Singapore introduction, although local specifications and pricing have yet to be announced.

For Volt Auto Group, the appointment represents another step in expanding its presence within Singapore’s automotive industry.
“We see a real opportunity to bring something different to Singapore’s automotive market,” said Soh Ming, Founder and CEO of Volt Auto Group. “BAIC and ARCFOX are not simply two more brands entering an already competitive landscape; they represent two distinct propositions that address different needs.”
The distributor has also committed to providing customer service, aftersales support and long-term ownership care for both brands.
